3 QUESTIONS to BOg:

Q: Listening to your mix and to your nowadays productions is really different. How did you come from rough beats to the warm and melodic music you´re doing now?

A: That is the music I grew up with and all of those tracks have been played by me when I was younger. I came from a more UK rave musical background. When I was 5 or 6 years old my father made me listen to "Depeche Mode - Strange Love" on a casette tape and I guess it all started from there. When I started to DJ for real and make a living out of it I really wanted to be more coherent and tell a story while mixing tracks together. This transitions came as something natural for me during the years.

Q: As your real name is Bogdan but why did you choose to big letters and a small for your artist name BOg?

A: As it is a very short DJ name I wanted to make it a bit more self-evident and make people ask themselves why 2 capital letters and one small letter. There is no real meaning or a story behind that. Visual wise i thought it looked cool.

Q: Which future projects are on the way? Will BOg take over the world domination in 2018?

A: I am a very spontaneous person and I don't really make long term plans. BOg is a very diverse project always improoving and discovering. I don't want to be trapped by my music that's why each track you'll hear from me will always sound different. At the moment I focus a lot on my own label "Atlant Recordings" where I am showcasing only new undiscovered producers that I think deserve a chance to be heard. BOg will never take world domination. He appeared out of nowhere and one day he will dissapear out of nowhere but meanwhile let's celebrate what we have now without too much overthinking.

3 QUESTIONS to MARTIN EYERER:

Q: Your mix shows a huge spectrum back to the 1980s. Would you still play some of the tracks in your current sets?

A: Actually I am not such a big fan of dropping old „hits“. There is so much new music on the market, that is great, so I prefer to present more new or rather some unreleased stuff of myself, my labels or friends. Though there could be rarely one old tune in my set when it comes to the right moment. On another note: The selection for this mix is not covering my best 10tunes ever. There were so many milestones on the way to „how I met the bass“. Could have done 3 mixes more (if I had less work and more time).

Q: You´re a DJ for more than 30 years now and you´ve played in almost all parts of the world. Are there still any ambitious goals for you to follow?

A: The globe is big and there is still many places to see. I just saw a post by Dave Seaman playing in Pakistan for instance - and immediately thought „Wow, I’ve never been there". So besides of exploring places I want to see there are so many great venues and parties and its always a big pleasure to return. Last month I played a show in Cuzco - that was really cool just to be in a city like that and play my music! Before I played in Buenos Aires - Bahrein Club - and it wa say 9 or 10th time there but never enjoy less to play. Travelling and playing as a dj is something I couldn’t imagine to stop. The only thing that gets more tiring is the traveling itself.

Q: What´s happening in 2018 - which Eyerer projects are on the way?

A: First a few releases will come out: A new Collab with Markus Homm on Culprit LA, a new Kling Klong, new release with Ackermann on Ignite and working on a new Rejected and Bedrock follow ups right now. I am thinking slowly about a new Album project for 2018 but am not clear yet what I will do exactly. Needs to be a special concept I think. Generally I will finish a few started Collaborations with Gel Abril, Namito, Ackermann and Pan-Pot and try to spend more time in my beautiful Studio in Berlin Riversidestudios.

3 QUESTIONS to TECHNO FRUEHSTUECK:

Q: Talking about your mix: what did these tracks mean to you?

A: First of all it was a bit tricky to find out which music was our bass' mother. While Felix used to produce Hip-Hop, Daniel started with Balkan and World Music. Playing on bigger and bigger sound systems we both independently were torn towards electronic music. The tracks in the set are passengers we met on that way.

Q: How did you guys meet once and how did you find the name of your duo “Techno Fruehstueck” (= “Techno Breakfast”)?

A: We met at Kotti (= Kottbusser Tor, Berlin), where Felix was organizing a rave with his mobile sound system. Daniel was on his way to a club when he saw a strange crowd dancing on the other side of the street. The name Techno Frühstück was actually an accident. On the search of a name, Jonas a good friend and part of the Techno Frühstück producing circle proposed to do a "Techno Frühstück"- meaning to listen to some Techno and having breakfast. Thinking it was finally a name suggestion we just agreed.

Q: What´s coming up in 2018?

A: Our main New Year's resolution is drinking more coffee. It's good for you and makes you very fast. With our buddy Modest Crow we just finished another 4 tracks EP and with a lot of coffee there are gonna be tons of them.

Q: You recently signed to KOMPAKT. A dream became true?

A: Haha - well, I feel like I’m dreaming. I didn’t only just sign to Kompakt, I feel like I found a new home for myself and my music. The entire Kompakt team has been so wonderful. I feel extremely lucky and very excited for what will come in 2018.

Q: Tell us about your selection. How did these tracks find the way to your heart once?

A: This was way more fun to put together than expected. I ended up recording precisely 100 minutes for your no. 100 series which I thought was pretty cool as I didn't intend to do it. I put my set together in a way to present my journey from 1998 all the way through to my first release on Making You Dance Records (as Ańii) from early 2016. This gave me the opportunity to go back in time which brought back a ton of memories! I hope that after listening to my set that you will understand a bit more about me.

Q: Which Anii projects are coming this year?

A: I’m taking it slow for the time being as I am very excited about my first Kompakt 12" EP which is out in March and already working on another release for them. Right now I am doing a remix for a really cool Indie band Cults which should be out in late-January.

3 QUESTIONS to RON FLATTER:

Q: Your mix is full of storytellers. Do you still remember the first records you bought once?

A: Unfortunately I don´t remember the name of my first record but it was from the record story called Bongofishrecordstore in my hometown Halle and I bought 2 Acid Techno vinyls.

Q: You´re in the business about 20 years yet. What do you think did change most during this time?

A: Hair and clothes changed the most. Only Techno stayed the same. Nowadays everything feels so much faster but that isn´t bad at all. I´m not the „everything was better before“ guy. I´m happy to see things developing and I´m always curious what´s happening next.

Q: We´ve heard there is a new album coming next year. Are there any more details to talk about yet?

A: I really can´t wait to have this one out. The name of the album will be „Muscle Of Synths“ and will contain 10 tracks. It´s a dancefloor album. I just received the mastered files, so I´m really looking forward to March/April 2018.
