Q: Eins Tiefer is a german artist name. But what´s the story behind?

A: It was the name of Vincents hidden underground rave in his hometown Ulm back in 2013. "Eins Tiefer" (german for "One Deeper"). The party location was in an old bunker, underneath the streets of Ulm! After a couple of partys the event name was used for our own music project.

Q: How did you guys meet each other and how did you meet the bass once?

A: We first met each other at the "Eins Tiefer" party. Nico met the bass first as he lost his heart to the music at an oldschool Hip Hop party back in 2006. Vincent fell in love with Techno when he first was brought to a student Techno party in Konstanz / Germany by his brother.

Q: Tell us about your future projects. Besides music you´re running a restaurant, right?

A: Yes thats true. You can find us almost every day in our little restaurant "ST.MAULI" in Berlin-Friedrichshain. We will also work together with our friend Re.You on his label Younion. Also we are working on another EP for Upon.You Records.

3 QUESTIONS to CHRISTIAN NIELSEN:

Q: Talking about your mix: how did these tracks shape your career?

A: So I was never born into electronic music. I was mostly brought up on funk, soul, disco and rock music. However I was brought up to always me musically curious. So my first encounters with house and electronic was trough P3, which is the danish version of BBC. In the late 90's they played pretty diverse and there were light night shows where 2 DJ's called Thomas Madvig and Krede used to play some pretty trippy stuff. I used to record the shows on tape and listen to them daily. At the same time Basement Jaxx were making amazing crossover tunes and I was hooked. But I was very young and I only knew about it from the radio. Clubbing and Dj's didn't mean anything to me. It wasn't until 2004-5 when I started going out I connected the dots and realized what this kind of music was all about. I also realized that we had some amazing producers in Denmark who were making amazing tunes. I started to learn about producers like Brother Brown, Bjørn Svin, Rune RK (Kolsch), Noir and Trentemøller. Learning about these guys opened a whole new world to me and I started digging Kerri Chandler, Laurent Garnier and especially DJ Rolando - Jaguar got me into the whole techno vibe of things. But still today there are tracks that blow my mind and inspire me on a daily basis and its important to stay curious.

Q: As a producer you already released on some of the biggest labels. What are your goals in 2018?

A: I released a lot of music in 2017 and I've been trying loads of new things out. For me 2018 is going to be the year where I connect the musical dots. I feel much more mature and confident as a producer and I can't wait to show you guys what's coming.

Q: Which future projects are on the way?

A: I can't say too much yet, but there's going to be loads of synths, heavy drums and techy vibes!

3 QUESTIONS to PETER PARDEIKE:

Q: Listening to your mix offers some really nice goldies and oldies. What do these tracks still mean to you?

A: My mix represents a selection of tracks which influenced me the most from around mid of the eighties till the mid of the nineties. They are the fundament of my todays musical orientation and taste. Like most of the emotional experiences you make when you grow up I am deeply connected with this tunes. They still remind me of how I felt their special energy at that certain time. And this special energy is what I am trying to recreate while working on new tracks in my studio.

Q: You released your music on huge labels yet, such as Innervisions, Suara, Connaisseur. A dream came true?

A: Yes of course! I can still remember the overwhelming feeling holding my first Innervisions release in my hands which I created in collaboration with Marcus Worgull. And I am more than happy that I’ve found a very good home on Connaisseur for my first own release.

Q: You´re working on your album I´ve heard. Tell us more about!

A: Indeed. At the moment I’m working on the album concept and I’m still collecting ideas, sounds and even art and pictures as inspiration. For me an album is something special, I don’t want to put together a collection of club tracks which could have been released as several EPs. I don’t think about single tracks on my album. I think about an overall concept for music and sound divided into sections (tracks), or simply: a musical journey from track to track, from the begin till the end. I know that’s very ambitious but at least I wanna try to get there as close as I can.

Q: You ́re the mastermind behind Amsterdams Click Records besides producing music and DJing. A fulltime job?

A: Running Click Records is not a full time job but i am happy to say I can live from music. Things I do are running the label, DJing, making music, handling bookings for a few acts and assisting some other artist with managment stuff. Also I do some freelance stuff for a music company regarding A&R and discovering and pushing artists.

Q: Tell us about your mix. How did these tracks find the way to your attention?

A: I made a choice with this mix to only select music i have on vinyl. I stopped buying vinyl long time ago. I think 10 years ago. I choosed to put in this mix only tracks from the beginning when I started with DJing. Tracks that defined me in that period when I discovered the world of dance music. So no disco classics or new music you will find in this mix. Strictly the music I loved when it al started for me and what is for me the foundation of everything I did since then.

Q: Which projects are coming soon?

A: Well I am working on lots of new original music. Got a bunch ready now. So more and more my focus will be again on releasing original music as time was short last 2 years for that which resulted in releasing lots of remixes as I am pretty fast with working on that.

3 QUESTIONS to NICO MORANO:

Q: Curious about your mixed classics. How did these tracks find their way to you?

A: Just for the record: I grew up in the trance era. A dirty word a few years ago. Now again trendy, I have been told. Frankly I never cared about hypes and the genre/subgenre how we define tracks. But what I did and do care is that I have always been listening and appreciating melodic music. “The key for me is the melody!” What a nice catch phrase. 22 years ago I started to get into House music. In Belgium we grew up with the Bonzai repertoire. Listening to the back catalogue always gives me epic memories. 17 years ago I started to buy vinyl and I have to admit my choices in this mix are mostly from the era 2004-2010. So yes, vinyl inside! I did some crate digging. So I hope you can enjoy my selection of these 'old' (but timeless) beauties.

Q: You´re one of the most booked artists in Belgium and have a huge fan scene there. What´s your secret?

The secret, well I guess the magic key is: Over all these 17 years of DJing I have always stayed true to my style. People really know what they will get when they come to one of my shows: A selection of unreleased / undiscovered tracks in combo with a few completely forgotten / timeless tracks which blend together to once nice melodic story. So I think that makes it very transparant for the fans. Plus the fact that none of my shows are the same. If I would be heavily repeating the same tracks people will get bored and will not come back. And I would get bored of myself.

Q: You started a series called „More Morano“. Tell us about this project. Also tell us which releases are coming soon?

Originally it all started with the fact I was bored of recording monthly 'mixes', recorded in my studio. So we came up with a new way of recording this 1 hour mix. So we decided to go for a unique location, invite 100 fans and broadcast it live on facebook. You just have to check out the videos to understand the 'unique' feeling about it. In 2018 a lot of releases will finally see the light at the end of the tunnel: You can expect a free christmas present to start with. It's a BICEP remake I have been pushing over the last 2 months and which really puts every dancefloor on fire! So happy with that result! Besides that I will release a new EP in January 2018 on the belgian Atmosphere Records. Afterwards Feb / March 2018 my collab with Amari will be released on the Dutch label 'Days Like Nights', the label from Eelke Kleijn. Right after this another release is planned on the French label Sweet Musique. So a lot is coming up!
