The thing we're going to focus on really came out of this idea from the beginning of the book. If you haven't read it, he starts off with this idea that we’re all part of this collective dream that has been handed down, and this idea that when we were born each and every one of us one has been indoctrinated into this dream through what he calls the domestication of humans. Like a horse, you get a horse. What do you have to do? You have to break the horse over time to domesticate the horse so you can ride it.

He's kind of comparing us and saying when you have a baby, to get the child to behave you have to domesticate the child, and how do we do that? We do it by taking love and approvals and telling a child over and over and over, “Good job, bad job, I love you, I don't love you,” until the child does what we need them to do. That the promise of today's conversation, and I think it's such a powerful one because if you really stop and think about what it means to have love taken back and forth until you basically are broken like a horse and you do what you need to do, it's very informative about your life and your future.
