The first rule if you run into a wild animal, keep your head cool and avoid sudden movements—sudden gestures might spook them. Second, always maintain a safe distance, especially with larger or more aggressive animals. Third, make yourself look bigger by raising your arms or holding up your jacket—this can deter some animals from approaching. Fourth, never turn your back and run—this could trigger a chase response. And finally, if the animal approaches, speak calmly and back away slowly, keeping eye contact but avoiding direct stares, and always give the animal an escape route.
