Let’s get real, here. When I think of self-care articles I’ve read in the past, most of them talk about taking time for a bubble bath or getting a massage. These work great for some, but I’m always left wanting after this type of self-care. On top of that, I’ve never heard many people talk about self-care for men, but they need it, too. We all need to take a moment out of our day or week to fill our needs. And we should be figuring out and participating in activities that are truly fulfilling and adding value to our lives.

Creating a morning and nightly routine are an essential part of maintaining your minimalist ideal. But they don’t have to be super time-consuming and rigid. Getting a few things done at night and again in the morning can have you ready to sleep well and also conquer your day. On top of that, you’ll much more easily be able to keep your home peaceful and minimalist.

In this episode, my husband is back and we’re talking all about the steps we’ve taken to create the reality we want to live. It’s easy to give in to the pressures of living conventionally, but that hasn’t brought us happiness or satisfaction. From practicing minimalism and simple living to swapping our sticks and bricks home for a home on wheels, we’ve decided we’re going to make choices we think will bring us the best possible life.

Good Omens by Gaiman and Pratchett (affiliate link — no cost to you, but thank you for your support!) was one of the best books I’ve read in a while. Full of witty humor, I loved the characters, the premise of the apocalypse is always interesting, and the idea of an angel that doesn’t want to be 100% good and a demon that doesn’t want to be 100% bad is both entertaining and thought-provoking.

It’s easy to practice minimalism ... if you stay in your house and never leave. And never go onto any shopping websites or apps. These tips should help you to stay on track with your minimalist goals the next time you happen to have to go shopping. They’re habits I’ve been working on developing for years — some of which I still admittedly struggle with, but all of them have been helpful to me at one point or another.

My first guest episode welcomes my handsome husband for an open conversation about our possessions, stress, and minimalism in our marriage and lives.
We haven’t always been minimalists, but my husband was the first to jump on the wagon and was a great example to me. Together, we’ve discovered how stressful STUFF can be and that we’d much rather have experiences than excess.

Do you ever look through your stuff and wonder where it all came from and wish it had never appeared? There are a lot of things I regret purchasing. After slowly changing my ways, I now have a lot of things I simply don’t purchase anymore.
These things I list have freed up space, my time (since I don’t have to look after them), our finances — STUFF in general is expensive, people!! — and has reduced my stress. I hope this list gives you some ideas of things you might be ready to stop purchasing, too.

For me, there isn’t a better time to reflect on life than the end of the year. It brings such a sense of completion and closure, I can’t help but pause, contemplate, then decide how I want to move forward.
This way of thinking helps me to be excited for the beautiful moments I’ll have with my family and all the ways I can be productive in my creative work in the coming year.
Thanks for listening and being a part of my life this year! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.

There are plenty of reasons to hold on to physical stuff...as well as annoyances, conversations and old hurts. There are even more reasons to let go of these things. Not only does letting go make room for things and thoughts we actually want to have around, but we are able to feel so much peace and live with less stress.

There are a lot of ways we can live a simpler, more minimalist life, but today, I address four that I believe can have significant impact. Simplicity can offer so much freedom and tends to bring opportunities to allow more joy, peace, and gratitude into our lives. I hope you enjoy the show!

Do you love getting stuff done and that beautiful feeling of accomplishment, but cringe when you hear the words, “New Year’s Resolution,” or “goal-setting?” Well, have a listen to this episode to get some fresh ideas on how to create goals that are fun and doable. I also share my insights on the emotional side of goal-setting and achievement, celebrating the victories, and ditching the guilt. Seriously — you HAVE to celebrate the victories.
Thanks for being here, my friends. There are a lot of other podcasts you could be listening to right now, but I appreciate you listening to mine!
