How To Become The Most Confident Person In The Room In Three Steps
1. Be your own best friend and positive coach
•Learn to witness your thoughts.
•Use positive affirmations and mantras.
•Remove limiting beliefs.
•Give your negative voice a name.
•Keep a Relentless Solution Focus
•Focus on what you can control, not what you can’t.
•Remind yourself every day of your strengths and things you’ve done well.
•Visualize yourself performing at your best and achieving your goals.
Action steps: 1) start to pay attention to how you talk to yourself, and identify and remove limiting beliefs, 2) write down three things you did well every day, and 3) write down your top 10 greatest hits (your proudest life accomplishments).
2. Become a one percent warrior—get 1% better every day
•Learn ONE new thing.
•Get your number-ONE Most important task done.
•Do ONE hard thing you didn’t want to do.
•Act as if
Action steps: 1) Identify the one thing you’ve been avoiding doing the most each day and do that, 2) identify your number one most important task each day and complete it, 3) spend 5 to 15 minutes a day learning something new personally or professionally
3. Surround yourself with confident, positive people who believe in you and also give you honest and direct feedback
•Attitudes are contagious…you become who you surround yourself with most.
•Spend time with people who celebrate your successes.
•Direct and honest feedback is a gift.
Action step: Write down the 20 people you spend the most time with. Identify the people who drain your confidence and energy, and address them and/or minimize or eliminate time spent with them. Identify the people who are most confident, who believe in you, and who challenge you to be your best, and thank them and spend the most time with them.
