Five Have A Mystery To Solve

Yay! I may be middle-aged, but I still hugely adore tales concerning my favourite fictional childhood chums! The Five are asked to look after young Wilfred, a solitary boy who whispers to the creatures surrounding him. Their travels take them to a tiny cottage located in a harbour, in which stands the mysterious 'Whispering Island'. It's a place of local legend, but what's the truth behind the tales of great riches and armed guards?

Once again, a perfect listen. The narrator, Ann Beech brings bucket loads of English charm to the story and the different characters, including Timmy, are wonderfully brought to life. A treat for all ages.

Meaningful Messages

If you are looking for an engaging, educational and enjoyable book to share with children of all ages, this is a winner! Clawson has done a great job of weaving fun facts and faith-based messages into short individual stories. An animal is highlighted for each letter of the alphabet. It's a great book to have by a child's bedside or to slip into a busy parent's bag as a engaging take-along for those waits in the doctor's office! Nicely done!

Great book for inquisitive children

This book is full of wonderful short stories that are educational and entertaining. Each story has a faith based message and has facts about the animal in the story. There are even some pages that the kids can color.

Praise for Pond Punkies Book Two

Book two "The Unearthing," picks back up at the same pace of book one and never slows down. The end of the story will increase the reader's excitement about the third book. The story draws you in from the very beginning when Blaze is faced with dreams involving his sister. The dreams are vivid and he feels she is at risk. He faces the task of finding his sister. No one suggests he goes but he knows that he should. His father is against him leaving to search for her, but Blaze and his best friend, Ace set out on another adventure. It isn't bad enough that they just saved Earth from destruction now they have to go and rescue more people.

Blaze sets out to look for his sister and continue his efforts to save those being bullied by the Tritonans. While out on this journey, his friends find out that there is a plot to destroy another plant far from Earth. Along the journey to find his sister, Blaze and his friend Ace come across Tadd. I like how the characters show empathy and kindness to Tadd while also helping build his self-esteem. Through this friendship and their quest to protect the others, basic character building skills are reflected. There are sprinkles of happiness, kindness and love throughout the book. It's as subtle as sneaking vegetables in a finicky child's food. As your young reader gets lost in this fast paced science fiction read they learn about the power of friendship and kindness.

It's a good book to add to the classroom and home libraries. It's fun!!

Pond Punkies rocks!!!!

This book is so cool I could scream! It is so cool that I could scream because I like it when they meet Tadd. I like it when he slaps Ace, because it seems kind of funny but I think it is really funny. My cousin Hans would laugh at that part so I am going to try to tell him that he should read the Pond Punkies books. That book is just so cool I'm going to scream, I'm just kidding but it seems like I'm going to scream, but I really am not. I like the creatures from the Unknown Zone they are so cool!!!!!! Some of the creatures can fly. I would like to take a ride on a creature like them, but I would not like to be on Sizzler because he sneezes (Achoo). I would just like to ride in the tunnels with Blaze and Ace. This message is brought to you by Caleb Nicholas Bildner.

Great second story!

It's no surprise that Blaze is off on another adventure, and his second one is equally as engaging as the first. When my girls read a story, they not only want to share in the heroes adventure, but they want the hero to be the kind of person they would be, and treat others the way that they know they should. This makes this second installment of Pond Punkies believable and relatable from the plot to the characters.

My nephew is in heaven
