Disappointing at best.

I wanted to love it...I really did. However, the characters are implausible, the story line is cookie cutter to so many other Christmas books. I loved both of the "Mrs. Miracle's" and honestly wish that story line had continued. While I applaud using a dyslexic heroine, so many things that would have been difficult for her were "washed over" in the book. If she really is dyslexic, show the struggle. The time line is difficult to understand and the reasoning for her taking one college class in 6 years and then graduating isn't really doing justice to her back story. I love Debbie Macomber and have been an avid reader (and will continue to be) however this book seemed rushed and too quick to tie things up without much of a reason to do so.

Not great

This book seemed like a book written because she needed to write something in a hurry and this was it. Not up to her standards at all. To many people mentioned but with no story line. I'm sure they will show up in later books, but this book was terribly disappointing. I look forward so much to Ms Macomber's Christmas books. This one was not worth the wait.

I love this series

Love Letters: A Rose Harbor Novel, Book three is by Debbie Macomber. This book takes place in Cedar Cove, Washington at the Rose Harbor Inn. Jo Marie Rose owns and runs the Inn. It has provided comfort and healing to everyone who has stayed here before. However, it doesnât seem to be able to heal this group of visitors.

Eleanor (Ellie) Reynolds has come to Cedar Cove to meet Tom who she met online. Despite her Motherâs admonitions, Ellie has come to meet Tom in person and see if there might be the signs of a real relationship growing. Ellieâs Mother is not in favor of this meeting as she sees all men out to get women in their claws and never let go. This attitude goes back to her Motherâs (Virginia)marriage. Her husband left Virginia and Ellie and was never heard of again except for child support. Will Virginia be right about Tom? Is he just using Ellie?

Maggie and Roy were having a weekend getaway with the blessing of Royâs parents who had paid for the weekend as an anniversary gift and were taking care of their two sons for them. Maggie and Roy were going through a very rough part in their marriage. They needed to talk it out; but Roy wouldnât talk and Maggie still believed Roy was texting Katherine. Would their vows to each other hold firm through the turmoil?

The Inn at Rose Harbor is a wonderful and fulfilling place. I wish it really existed and I could afford to spend some time there. The characters are very realistic.

I loved the stories but was left hanging when book ended suddenly.

Love letters was another of Debbie's interesting stories set in the magical place of Cedar Cove and involving characters connected in some way to the Rose Harbor Inn, a bed and breakfast

operated by a young war widow who seems to be falling in love with Mark, her handyman, whom no one seems to know much about other then he does good work and his fees are reasonable. Other characters in the book are guests staying at the inn and their stories. Unfortunately the book ends with none of the stories resolved and no indication of when the readers will find out "what happens next" or if there is a "happy ending".

Couldn't "Smell The Roses"

Although the concept of this novel was a good one, it was a disappointing read. The characters were not fully developed and the writing tended to be very repetitious. The story seemed as if it were churned out rather than fleshed out. Macomber did deftly show how love letters positively affected the relationships of the three different guests to Jo Marie's Rose Harbor Inn.

My favourite Australian book of the past year.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Ties so clearly to a real time and place, to real characters. Reminds me strongly of kids I know and knew, a lot of the fucking up is real, the music, the relationship to music is real, these are boys I've known. Here Comes the Dogs presents a different and better narrative around living outside of major Australian cities than I have been presented.

What did you like best about this story?

I'm so glad Musa reads his own work, his voice, flow and tone add so much to the story. It's a shame the sample audio isn't available because he's a great reader.

Unusual Thriller

This is one of the best vigilante justice books I've read in a long time. I like that it's unpredictable and not written like most novels in this genre with unrealistic action and dialog. It doesn't sacrifice believability but is still very suspenseful.

A real page turner

I'd recommend this book especially to anyone who dislikes thrillers that are predictable. This one is anything but and still is suspenseful from start to finish. Loved the female character too!

I loved this novel

I loved this novel! It has a great plot, lots of suspense from start to finish, and fantastic characters, including lead characters you can root for in both Zack and Hannah. I didn't want it to end!

Hard to put down!

I found this book incredibly interesting and enjoyable. The premise is unique and it's written in such a way to draw you in and keep you hooked from start to finish, and the ending is a complete surprise. I like the author's style - clear and never flowery.

Marylee MacDonald captured the emotional life scenarios that caregivers understand all too well in her novel, Montpelier Tomorrow. For those in this unique group, there is an understood strength that those without would never understand. Between times your heart is being ripped out, fear and tempers are at their worst, a ray of sunshine shines at the most unexpected times. In this story it was the sled ride for Tony during their trip to Montpelier.

Colleen Gallagher went from being a caregiver for her mother to supporting her daughter as she cared for her husband with ALS disease. The many decisions that have to be considered for the whole family can be overcoming.

I highly recommend this book for those who are caregivers, or are about to become caregivers. It will give you food for thought, plus an emotional release to read someone elseâs journey through years of carry for a terminally ill patient.

Montpelier Tomorrow is not the type of book that will talk in sweet tones, where everybody loves and likes everyone and there are no negative emotions anywhere. This book deals with the searingly painful and gritty reality of seeing a love one suffer from an incurable life threatening disease. In this case it is ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrigâs disease.

This story is told through Colleens eye as her son-in-law is diagnosed with ALS and she rushes to her daughters (Sandy) house to attempt to help be a caregiver to her husband and the kids. Her efforts are not always appreciated and there is a palpable resentment towards Colleen as well as a feeling of complicated family dynamics throughout the story. We find the answers out as to the why for some of these feelings, but it doesnât seem like enough of a reason I think. This is a hard book to read as the characters are not always likeable and through their actions in this story they seem to lack basic compassion and human decency. However, the fact that it highlights this horrific disease and helps showcase the hardships placed upon the family means that it is worthwhile to read.

No but it very interesting

No. I wasn't all that impressed with this narrator as he kinda sounded a little dry but over all I didn't find myself having to concentrate on what he was saying to stay interested in the story.
