Both actors did a great job at offering strong and believable characterisation. Nicole captured the voice and emotions especially well.

A stunning novel. Emotive, passionate, a storyline to sink your teeth into, and with one of the hottest sports ever, Rookie Moves was beautifully written and performed.

Yay. Already looking forward to book 2 I really enjoyed this first novel in Sarina Bowen's new series following the hockey players of the Brooklyn Bruisers. Loved the story, loved the characters (Leo is just yummy), loved the dual POV and love all the supporting characters. Fantastic start to a series with so much potential following rookie hockey player Leo Trevi and his childhood sweetheart Georgia Worthington. A true second chance romance that is full of love, heartache and a little bit of angst. Really had me rooting for their HEA.

Soulful

I felt it touched your soul, it was a very good example of home poorly people are treated for all the wrong reasons. I felt it was also an example of just how courageous people can be stepping up and doing what's morally correct. Also when the love of a child is involved somehow th a t gives us strength.

You've Slade Me!

Slade Lewis! Freakin' hell! I was so pissed of at him when he told India off, but now I'm ready to give him anything he wants for just 5 minutes with him in the Black House. Tamsen Parker has done it again. She woven white the tale and made us all hot & bothered as well.

Good gracious are we all wanting to slap Slade upside the head one minute and then swoon like greedy sluts the next! Slade is on a mission to discover the truths of himself in the world of kink and win back his wife Press. She is trying to determine should she risk her heart again and teach her old dog some new tricks. I rooted so hard for them right next Rey Walters. He's here to cheer them on and offer blockhead Slade some guidance. All in all I can't get enough.

This story has me in tears of laughter, gasping, cheering, loving, and even a bit mad as hell. It was even a little angsty that my kindle had to go in the freezer. But Parker wrapped up this story and made me so in love with these characters, old and new.

Fantastic New Installment in the Compass Series

Tamsen Parker has outdone herself in this newest installment in the Compass series. The author has taken Slade, whom we met in earlier in the series, and turned him from a misogynistic jerk into a sympathetic character that readers find themselves rooting for. Slade's kink is humiliation and when Rey takes Slade under his wing, Slade begins to learn how to channel his inner desires. When Slade meets ex-wife Pressly at Rey's club, they learn that both of them had desires they had kept hidden during their marriage.

With each installment, Parker's writing becomes stronger, and this book is no exception. Great character development, steamy sex and a happily ever after make this her best book so far. Highly recommended.

A sexy second chance romance!

It's not every author that can take a man like Slade, an admitted jerk and a cad and any other number of rude names, and actually make him an empathetic character and one worthy of redemption and a second chance. But that's what we get here in this kinky story about finding what makes one tick and how to go about it integrating that into one's daily life the right way.

Slade had the perfect wife in Pressly and he adored her, putting her on a pedestal that was bound to crack as his sexual needs and his ideal marriage were incompatible. Breaking Pressly's heart was unforgivable but necessary if he was going to save her from the fact that he gets off on humiliating women.

Just a quick note...This is one of those books that I think I would have enjoyed more if I'd simply read it, rather than listen to it on audio. Some books don't seem to translate well to audio. I think, for me, that was the issue with this book.

Needs a new narrator

I got this for review, and I have to say that the story was nearly ruined by the narrator. She clearly smokes; beyond that her phrasing was completely off. Is she a friend of the author? Because if she auditioned for the book and the author/publisher chose her, the author is doing herself no favors offering this on audio.

I switched to the ebook because I liked the story - but the narration was deplorable.

Yes, this is a very enjoyable listen. Yes it is predictable, yes it is a little cheesy but it is still a very sweet love story.

Enjoyed the storyline

Would you try another book from Gia Riley and/or Jeremy Vore?

OK, I enjoyed the storyline a great deal, as far as the narrative goes not a big fan. I couldn't tell half the time who was talking, it's messed up the story for me many times. Jeremy has a beautiful voice, but it just sounded like someone reading the story to me. I didn't feel much emotion or attempt to make the charators come to life for the listener.

What other book might you compare Rock the Boat to and why?

It was unique that's for sure, can't compare with any others because I don't think I've read anything similar. Really enjoyed the story.

Beautiful, smooth, strong

For me I'm going to say no, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I read it. I do have it on ebook and I think I may just to do that.

4.5 Perfect Match Stars!

This was such a fun book with so much heart! It is about two people who were so kind and compassionate and had so much love to give but are also heartbroken. They have both insulated themselves into their own kind of safe bubble. Lucky for them that they have wonderfully loyal friends who will do anything to help them move on. When Easton & Lark meet on a singles cruise, immediately the sparks fly between them. But will they be able to let go of their pain and find love again or will they sink down further? Easton, Lark and their friends were so well written, I could understand and feel the deep emotions they struggled to overcome while putting on a brave face. The banter between Easton and Lark was witty and they had great chemistry. I loved all the twists and turns in this delightful romance. It was charming, fast paced, emotional, and sexy. I enjoyed the narrator, Jeremy Vore.

The teen angst episode of the series...

This episode of Rising Storm is the teen angst episode. I'm fairly outspoken on how much I tend to hate teen stories on televised soaps. They always seem to be full of vapid characters that aren't acted particularly well, nor are the stories all that interesting to me. They never were, even when I was I was teen watching these stories.

The nice thing about reading a soap in book form is that instead of relying on often mediocre actors to portray complex emotions, the author allows us to be inside the character's head and we can understand what they're feeling. Elisabeth Naughton does a great job at this. I could empathize with each of the teen characters in ways that televised soaps rarely can do.

Note that even though I empathize with these characters, that doesn't mean I like them. A fair number of them I want to slap silly with their idiotic motives. But, then again, I was also kind of an idiot as a teen, too. It's much easier to judge when you're outside the world inhabited by the characters.

The one thing I really loved about this book is how well each chapter built up to the conclusion of the book. I'll leave out spoilers, but every single moment led up to a fight between two sisters that will probably leave them both scarred for some time and will change their relationship forever. And the very end of the book is so deliciously overdramatic that it made me long for the good old days of soap operas on television.

While I really enjoyed this book, I have one minor quibble about the writing, and I only noticed it because a lot of the book took place in cars. Nearly every time a car started or stopped moving, it was written that the car was "shoved" into drive or park. While it does give a great visual of the action, it also felt overused, especially in such a short number of pages. But that's the only thing I have to complain about with the writing. Otherwise the characters were well-written, and I look forward to learning more about them. Especially Jeffry Rush. I think he's going to have some interesting stories coming up. Or at least I hope he does.

I'd highly recommend this book, but I'd caution that you should read the first two prior to reading this one. It's probably not absolutely necessary, but it'll fill in some of the backstory for you. On to the next one!

Excellent New Series

This episode brought me right back to high school (which was a really long time ago) and all the âbestâ friend dynamics that go right along with it. I had to shake myself out of the bad memories a few times just to get through the book. Oh to be a young, foolish and stubborn teenager again.

Easy Enjoyable Listen

This is the kind of book that is great to listen to on a lazy afternoon. It's light, fun, romantic, not overly complicated and moves along at a good pace. The story is easy to follow and the characters are very likable. Nice start to a new series.

I enjoyed the narration, every character was different......especially the southern accents.

Note: FYI: This book is for 18+ listeners because it contains sexual situations and language.

This a good sweet fast little story. something you can listen to in one afternoon.

Erin and Matthew met in an airport bar during a snowstorm. No flights out, So they get a hotel room and spend the night together. No not in that way :)

well it turns out they are heading to the same wedding.. him as a best man, her as a hired bridesmaids.

This a sweet light loved story about a man who it not always been there for his family. feelings of guilt. not to mention he does not like the idea of his little brother getting married after his bitter divorce. to Matthew need a bit of a kick in the butt!

Surprisingly Good Book

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. Can't wait to listen to the others. A very nice love story.

Sweet romance

Although the premise seemed pretty unlikely, I suppose this was one of those "meet cute" "meant to be" romance stories. The action was set in Savannah, Georgia which is a magical romantic place and the description of the surrounding sights made me feel like I was a tourist in the city along with the main character, Aaron. Elizabeth Klett did a great job with the Georgian dialect and rolled seamlessly between the characters from there and England. I would recommend this audio because of the sweet romance but also because of the secondary stories between Aaron and her family as well as Matthew and his.

Good Romance Boxed set with Books 1-4

The story starts with Patrick, Joe, and Zooey inheriting their's grandma's Coffeeshop. I was surprised that the romances do not include them as the main characters but rather people they know.

The stories are short and sweet with a HEA conclusions. I wish they were a bit longer with more character development but if you like short stories with no cliffhangers or excessive drama, they will be perfect for you.

The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life.
