Obsessed? Really??

Oh good grief. I felt accomplished that I actually finished reading book three only to realize I still had book four to get through. I'm done. No can do. The characters were ALL annoying. Except for Ivy's elderly neighbor. The writing was so bad and there was no character development. Ivy had to be the most ignorant woman ever. Jax would simply touch her knee and 15 seconds later she would have an orgasm. Most of us readers have visuals while getting into the story. But the time frames made no sense. When Ivy "discovered" the jump drive that just happened to be in the drawer where Jax told her the take-out menues were, it was minutes after she finished talking to him on the phone. (Spoiler...) Yet he walks in on her while she's watching it. And Madeline, the lush. While at lunch, she is ordering and downing three drinks in a row before Ivy barely completes two sentences. The concept of the story could have made this a good book. But the characters and their relationships/reactions were not believable. Jax "crying" about a former love - who's last name he couldn't remember? Jax "jumping up and down" with excitement? Everyone "stomping a foot" when frustrated? . I absolutely hate this trend of stretching these stories into three or four "books". I bought it because it was the complete set. Ugh. My brain hurts.

Disappointed...

As I finished this series, there were many things that came to mind. I loved the idea of Jax and Ivy but had a hard time getting past his childish behavior. He's suppose to be a man of business and at 26 years old, I had greater expectation for him. First of all, for him to be as obsessed with her as what he was, was a little scary. Second, the glee that he gets from his rival possibly going tonjail to the point that he jumps up and down or wherever that was in the series, made me think really? That's more of what a 6 year old would do plus the way he treated Ivy was not the way that shows how much you love someone. He dashes out of the house leaving her alone so he can go who knows where to do who knows what and then he acts all confused as to why she left. I like my heros to be strong men that know who they are, can show tenderness and act like men not some juvenile that apparently can't handle being in an adult relationship. He plays hot and cold with her all the time and then never shares with her his thoughts other than when he wants sex or when she confronts him. I just had a hard time liking Jax even as he "matured" by the end.

I loved the whole Texas Cattleman's After The Storm Series but ...

I loved the whole Texas Cattleman's After The Storm Series but I think this was my favorite. Aaron lost his wife and child and Stella helped ease the pain. Their one night together left them expecting a baby. It was so sweet how Aaron encouraged unassuming Stella and she blossomed under his care and became a strong Acting Mayor and did great things for Royal Texas after the devastating tornado. Its a sweet passionate love story. I'll look for more of Sara Orwig stories

Clever story line.

This book has a clever message: there's more to a happy marriage than a ring on your finger.

This book wasn't romantic at all. There was so much about the town and little about the couple.

Fun Read

great summer read!

This is one of the three stories in the Hot in the Hamptons series (each standalone but with linked characters). If you do plan to read them all, the timeline works best if this is the last story that you read, as it definitely is the finale and hints of this romance were present in the first two of the series.

I enjoyed this one quite a lot. Storme is a conflicted woman, set to enter an arranged marriage with a dear friend but one she isn't attracted to sexually. So her chemistry with Holden, a beach bum (she thinks) who pushes all her buttons is not something that she's looking for and indeed is something she tries to avoid. But when she speaks with her fiance and he gives her the green light to explore for the summer to decide if they really should get married, she takes Holden up on his summer fling offer. Their sex scenes are steamy, and their banter and the sparks that fly off each other were fun to read. I appreciated the way the whole cheating idea was gotten around such that the reader didn't need to feel guilty about enjoying the romance between Storme and Holden. It ends with an HEA for the couple in question after a rocky middle for them, and was a great summer romance. 4 stars.

Sexy Summer Read!

Having been to the Hamptons, this was a truly fun read for me! Storme is a rich girl with a heart and some heavy obligations. She plans on marrying her best friend Phillip at the end of the summer despite gnawing doubts. As an only child, she has the added pressure of taking over her family's vineyard to preserve their legacy, in turn saving Phillip's. All is going according to plan...until she meets Holden. Smart, cocky, and hot as hell. He's the kind of guy who pushes her buttons.

A POWERFUL JOURNEY OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

This heartbreaking yet beautiful love story starts off with a strong Prologue where a desolate 18 year old Dalton explains the hopeless world he lives in working as a lackey for a Crime Boss. There's no way out for him - his only solace is Spencer - the mere thought of her gives him warmth and relief in his otherwise cold loveless life. A childhood life filled with abuse, a life that never knew of kindness or caring and a life filled with lies, violence, greed and heartache because he knows that that's all there is for him. But his friendship with Spencer is everything to him - she came into his life when he was put in emergency Foster Care with her Counselor Mom and their bond solidified as they silently watched the setting sun go down from the steps of her house. Great listen

I really liked this. I listened to this kind of at the same time as the last 3 chapters of Breach so I could see the scenes from Nathan's side. It was really good to get into his head for a little bit and I liked how his pain from his past and Lila was shown. I recommend this if you have read Breach. The narrator also did a really good job. My first listen from him but would be willing to listen to more.

Book 1.5 in the series

This book is a recap of book 1, but from Nathan's point of view. The narrator read really fast & the book was over almost before it began.

Dissolution Review...

Writing, plot and narrator good! Endings of Box 1 and Box 1.5 kept me hanging...couldn't wait for the next Audible Book 2 & 3, so I downloaded those to my Kindle!

Great listen from Nathan's POV.

I love this audiobook series. This is a short book from the point of view of Nathan, following his break up with Lila up until her accident. He is so broken, he has difficulty seeing things from any other point of view but his own and it causes himself dispair and Lila more heartache than she can bear. It is interesting hearing it from him, and it was a great listen. Leonard Kirkman is an awesome narrator, fits Nathan perfectly, and I can't wait for book 2 to come out.

Daddy tries his best for his son

It's great to read about a dad who really loves and tries to care for his infant son alone. Good thing that his family knows when he needs a helping hand from a delightful British nanny. Too bad the baby's Mother is just greedy, nasty and doesn't want to raise her own child. Can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter.

Yes, there needs to be more to each installment to makes it worth the money. This is the only reason for not giving it 5 stars.

A true enjoyment!!!

I enjoyed reading the first installment in this series. I love the characters and truly feel for Atreus. I am on pins and needles to see what happens next. By the way I am not a fan of Serene. Great start to the series!!

Loved it!!

This is a brilliant rock and roll romance. The strife between the two brothers has been going on for so long and the reason was based on a lie that Marcus fabricated in high school. The girl in question, Naomi, is caught in the middle and leaves to attend university. When she comes home she finds out, after joining the brothers band, that it was a lie. How she and Marcus and Theo co exist on tour creates a bit of tension. I look forward to finding out about Marcus and his rise to fame because of a video of his last concert with the band.

Love the read

For me, a bit of a slow beginning but it picked up after :-) it was a great story and a messy three-way street but glad in the end the right choice was made, well in my opinion. Loved the characters. Will definitely read the next one in this series after this being my first read of this author.

Australian love story

Like this writer, like her writing style, the people in the book, all with all a very nice book, a refreshing change, because many books are boring me to death lately. I like historical romance books, but the writers just come up with 3 of the same plots over and over again. Give this writer a try, you won't be disappointed, I have bought all her books online.

Just Beautiful

Wow, I thought the other books in this series were good, this book was wonderful. I love how they go back and forth. I liked that you couldn't figure out who she would choose. I do wish the ending was a little different. So looking forward to the next book in this series.
