    A Fun Read
This charming little love story does a great job of capturing its milieu vividly. The dialogue makes it a fun read, and the pacing is excellent. There's just enough conflict to keep things interesting, and it brings things to a satisfying conclusion. A fun read indeed.

    Didn't finish
When I read the word "okay" in a book that is set in the Regency or Victorian period I know to drop it like a hot potato. Please writers, at least give a nod to the period. I couldn't get the least bit of historical feel.
    Good, quick read.
I like this book....lusty to happy ever after.

    Not my cup of tea
Others may like this sort of book, but not interesting to me in the least.
    Engaging Novel Excellent Read
What made the experience of listening to Crossing the Vaal the most enjoyable?
The author was able to develop the characters in a detailed way in a very short time The pace of the novel is quick and you can get lost in the wonderful descriptions of South Africa. The book transports the reader to another place and another time. Very enjoyable.
What about Melanie Frasers performance did you like?
Ms. Fraser was excellent. Her treatment of the characters was quite involved. I would have thought that it was several different people narrating!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, if I had the time I surely would have.
It might be a perfect afternoon
Okay, admittedly, not my genre. I grabbed it because I am hooked on the narrator, Melanie Fraser. Her voice is like honey dripped over lilacs. I thought the story was okay. It told a wonderful themed romance set in South Africa. I do think that readers (and listeners) of a good romantic adventure will be hooked and hauled in by this story. It is vivid and descriptive and really pulls you into the landscape and setting. I can't vault the storyteller just because the tale is not in my genre of interest. There is a real talent here.
    Wonderful short historical
--I was given a copy of the audiobook for an honest review.
This is not a typical listen for me, historical romances that revolve around war are hard for me to get into. This was not the case with this book. From the beginning, the descriptions of the country and the relationships between the characters kept me interest. I love the scene with Lizzie on her horse, she certainly knows how to get the interest of her man.
As the story progresses and you learn more of the treatment of women during the Anglo-Boer War, it intrigued me, as I was unaware of how it was. I am now on google, learning more about the history of South Africa. I think this is something that shows how good the story way to provoke thought and learning. The romance is what really always catches my ears, and I love the story with Lizzie and Louis.
Melanie Fraser gives us an amazing performance. She is able to distinguish between country dialects, accents and characters so that even this short, with so many characters, you are able to keep track of who is speaking. She never lets me down when I have a book by her.
    Okay Historical Fiction lacking Substance
This book had the potential to be at least a 4 star book however it was too skeletal and lacked substance and development. It needed to be at least twice as long.
The story takes place in South Africa just prior to and during the second Boer War. With the discovery of gold in the Transvaal which was one of the fuses which ignited the war.
The story was okay however it was a bit confusing. One needs to pay close attention to the book as it is easy to miss major points and these points are not repeated nor reiterated.

    Wrapping Up
This is an enchanting final dance in this part of the world, and these phases of the lives of these fascinating characters and their storylines. It is fast moving, funny, scary and very hard to put down. I am definitely not ready to give them up, so my hope is that the series will continue in the West!
    Ends too soon....
The story was unusual. A few but not many scenes were predictable. My only disappointment is that the story ends here.
But why? I want to know what happens to
    them in the new world!
Great conclusion to a fun series
A wonderful close to this series. Everything wrapped up just the way you would want it to be, and a few surprises along the way. More magic than steam-punk, perhaps, but that has always been a part of Cherry's world so it can be forgiven.
    Five Stars
Excellent series. I wish there were more books in the series.
    a great ending!!
This should be made into a movie (although someone would probably ruin it). A little romance, a lotta danger, this book ended in a very satisfactory way!!

JUST AS GOOD AS THE FIRST PART!
Where does A Painted Desire: Part 2 rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
It ranks as one of the best erotica's I have ever listened to. I love erotica that has a lot of details and this book gave a lot of those details we all desire.
Better than the first! Wonderful erotica
This erotica was so great. I think an hour long audiobook is perfect for erotica's, and this one was jam packed from beginning to end. It's hard to find good straight erotica's, but this one knocked it out of the ballpark.

    Exciting Book!
Angel with Steel Wings is an exciting book. It describes WWII and the WASPS. I found the whole concept and information interesting. It is a part of the war not talked about much. The characters and storyline were engaging. I found it easy to follow and the romance and handicap son added the perfect touch. I look forward to reading more from Anne Greene.
I received the book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.
    A good read
Angel With Steel Wings by Anne Greene is a historical romance set in WWII. It tells some of the history of the WASP program. The book is very well written. The main character, two main and two almost main, were very well depicted and developed. The sub-characters were interesting also. She did a good job of bringing them all to life. You felt like you had, at least, actually met them if not knew them. The story line moves well and goes back and forth between the main characters. I did have trouble at the beginning, it was a little bit of a slower start but part of the problem was on my end. I received the book in PDF format and converted it to MOBI, this made the layout a bit odd and more difficult to read. But, at the beginning the dialog was slightly stilted but not for long. It moves from this to a very interesting book. There were very few editing errors. A couple of wrong words was about all. Nothing in the editing department to make the book annoying. Editing is a big deal for me. If it's badly edited, no matter how interesting the story, it can be a deal breaker. You will not be disappointed in this book. It's not overly preachy but does show God's grace and mercy. This book is for anyone who enjoys history, a good Christian book, and/or a good romance. I wrote this review of my own accord. I was given this book through Bookfun.org.
    WASP's Courageous Women
A story written in tribute to the brave women who took to the skies freeing up men for combat. These women crossed the long defined boundaries based on gender. They took on the dangerous role of test flying planes that had previously been badly damaged and repaired. Risking their lives they put numerous aircraft through tough maneuvers, spins and stalls to prove there flight worthiness before they were returned for combat.
Gutsy women who went unrecognized for their contribution to the war effort for many years.
    Great read
I am a reader, fanatic of war time stories.

    Romance Novels for Women
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you are a woman who read Robinson Cruesoe and Deux Ans de Vacances in your childhood and liked them, I guarantee that you will love this novel. This is one of the few real adventure romance novels for women that I ever read in my life. I got captivated in the story from the beginning and could not pause for almost two hours. I felt as though I was actually experiencing the adventure myself. It was really empathizing. I will not tell you any more about it, because I don't want you to know what will happen. A great work and thank you for making this audio version available!

    The Courtesan's Book of Secrets
When I started reading, I was in despair because I had just finished a total disaster of a book & thought this was another disaster. The beginning was much too slow & tedious but finally got redeemed with the discovery of the register & the fire. Touching & sweet ending.
A Passionate and Sensual Love Story
I had not read any of Georgie Leeâs books but, when she was featured on fellow author, Ella Quinnâs blog recently, I was intrigued by the premise of her latest book, The Courtesanâs Book of Secrets and added it to my list of books I definitely wanted to read. So I was delighted when Ms Lee asked if I would like to read and review the book and it certainly didnât disappoint.
This was such a compelling story and I felt a real empathy for Rafe and Cornelia. During their years together, it was obvious that they had fallen in love, although they never admitted it to each other. Cornelia believed that to Rafe she was nothing more than his gambling partner and someone to warm his bed. Rafe felt he had nothing to offer Cornelia other than a future of unpredictable card games and rundown lodgings. The anger and bitterness over their perceived betrayal of each other is so evident in their stinging exchanges when they meet at Lady Daltmouthâs ball, but they cannot deny the feelings they still arouse in each other. I love how, despite everything that has happened, Rafe is still kind and protective towards Cornelia.
They both needed to find the book to protect those they love. When Rafe discovered that his father was a traitor, selling secrets to the French, he knows that, unless he can locate the book and destroy the evidence, all his lands will be seized. He loves his mother too much to see her reduced to poverty and degradation. How could I not adore a hero who cares so much for his mother? Cornelia is willing to do anything to protect her half-brother Andrew, even resort to blackmail.
I like how Rafeâs small acts of kindness to Miss Allen and her son and to Monsieur Fournier have greater significance later in the story.
The romance is poignant, tender and passionate and Ms Lee conveys all the emotions between Rafe and Cornelia quite beautifully.
At times, it seems there are too many obstacles for Rafe and Cornelia to overcome but Ms Lee resolves the issues in a believable way.
I liked Rafeâs mother, Lady Densmore, so kind and understanding. Even in her own reduced circumstances, she still cares about the people on the estate.
