Wonderful romance story

This was another excellent book by this author. I enjoyed the way the romance between the hero and heroine developed throughout the story. The storyline was extremely interesting and well written. I have enjoyed all of this author's books because of her style of writing, including this book.

This was a five star book and well worth reading.

Best Book Award for 2001

This wonderful book should be on everyone's Must Read List! Multi-published Jane Bonander introduces a fascinating hero, Dante Templeton. "He was a carnal man" is the opening description but we soon learn that Dante's powerful sexuality and fearsome tattoos masking scars on his chest are mere surface characteristics of this deeply complex man. Widow Eleanor Rayburn is homeless and penniless when she meets Dante Templeton, who is determined that her ship will never hunt whales again. A cast of needy children and insensitive relatives contribute to further emotional layering in The Dragon Tamer and the wonderfully satisfying ending will make you wish this book never ended...

The Dragon Tamer

Wow, I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars! I am such a fan of Jane's and was so excited about her new book, the Dragon Tamer. All of Jane's books are very romantic and this new one is no different, although I thought it was a little more erotic than her others but very tastefully done! You are just going to love the story of the plain widow, Eleanor and the handsome Dragon Tamer! I read this in one day!!!

So Ellen is forced to keep a straight face as she speaks to people, even though Corey is there saying the most outlandish things about the ones Ellen is talking to. Somewhat Juvenile

Really very silly writing, kind of juvenile.

sweet ghost Regency Romance.......

Synopsis:

So Corey does the noble thing: He decides to find Ellen a living husband who can make her happy here on earth. With Corey's divine intervention, Ellen should make a wonderful match. But, heaven help her, it is the irresistible, ghostly Corey she desires...in the flesh, in her arms...and forever in her heart.

my review:

overall, Phantom Affair was an sweet, charming lil ghost story. The interaction between Ellen and Corey was fun, and fairly hot for a traditional Regency (no actual scenes per see, but lots of sexual tension). The biggest flaw in the story itself was the secondary characters, which were very one dimensional and cliche'

I'd recommend A Phantom Affair to a Regency fan looking for a change of pace in storyline, but not unless you can get the book very cheaply.

3.5 stars.

A very 'different' Regency; highly enjoyable

If you like your Regency plots to be down-to-earth and plausible, you may not like this book. On the other hand, I am not in general particularly fond of stories concerning the supernatural, but I found this book entertaining and very moving, and I have re-read it a couple of times since.

Ellen and Lord Wulfric (Corey Wolfe, whose title is *not* Lord Corey Wolfe as the description on this site suggests, but the Marquess of Wulfric) meet and get on extremely well; then a tragic accident results in Corey's death. But not his departure from Ellen's life; he vows to find her the perfect husband before autumn comes.

I liked this story of Caroline and Asa very much although it read like a stage play. That was hard to get used to and just as I was getting the hang of it, the story ended. I would have like to have seen an epilogue . I would have given it 5 stars then, if I had known what happened after the H and h got off the train.

Truley excellent and worth reading over again

It goes without saying God is always in the mist of things. This is one of the most romantic stories I have every read. And it is something that could truly happen in this day and time. Even though they met as true strangers there was a connection that brought them together. And the part that was so interesting they both set out trying to do something to please their families, not even themselves. Truley excellent and worth reading over again.

Interesting facts regarding the Oregon Trail Wagon Trains

I was very surprised that in some Wagon Trains when there is more room in the wagon, complete strangers actually

rode in the wagon of someone they didn't even know. This is a wonderful book that tells of the hard ships people

experienced when traveling the trail. Some of the people where not prepared at all and some where very well prepared.

It also was thrilling reading and I now believe it was the Wagon Master who was responsible for getting the travelers safetly to

Oregon. Without a Wagon Master with knowledge of the trail, not as many travelers would have made the journey.

This is decent. The characters are ok. I like the different setting. I wonder why she wrote this when she has a few other "books" like this out.
