Vivian Arend Continues To Exceede Expectations

What made the experience of listening to One Sexy Ride the most enjoyable?

Vivian Arend knows how to craft a very sexy romance. I stumbled upon her Six Pack Ranch series many years ago and continue to enjoy added installments of it along with the Thompson family series. I by each additional book as it is released (with the exception of her paranormal works.)

Tatiana Sokolov is a wonderful narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of One Sexy Ride?

I have listened to many of Tatiana Sokolov's performances. I find that listening to Sokolov at 1.25x speed to keep the story going at my preferred listening speed.

Disappointing and a true waste of money

What disappointed you about I Married a Master?

The story had SO, so much potential to be amazing. It started of with a very refreshing storyline and some very endearing characters. Then all of a sudden the author was skimming over some vital plot elements. Very disappointed!

Not as good as others

This book was a let down, so slow and not as good as others by same author.

Not my cup of tea, but well done narration.

I thought I'd give this book a try. It was either free or extremely cheap and I thought "why not?". However, this is not a genre I read. I don't feel I can critique the story as it's just something I don't care for. However, I thought the narration was very good. So for those that enjoy this type of erotica book the narration was well done and I think if it's up your alley you will enjoy.

A real snoozer!

It was difficult to finish the story. What a bore.... The narration was good. If the lead character was a Master, then Mickey Mouse is a Dom!

DISLIKE AT FIRST SIGHT BUT SIZZLES TOO.... OH YUMMY

This was a great story to get lost in - these Billionaires get me every time and it's not their money that does it. Handsome, sexy, confident, all Alpha but desperate Ben needs a wife quickly because there's a lot at stake and, for some reason, he can't quite get the feisty woman he briefly met, whilst buying the same flavor ice cream, out of his mind because she gave back as much verbal abuse as he gave. But it wasn't a friendly encounter as they growled, snapped and glared at each other. Jenna is a wannabe Actress but so far she's had no luck finding a part and she's haunted with thoughts of the handsome, arrogant, pushy, obviously stinking rich and rude man she had the misfortune to bump into at her local Store. Then a chance meeting, a proposition and a handshake sealed the deal..... for $2 she was going to act the part of his loving wife for 2 years.

A GREAT SECOND BOOK PACKED FULL OF LOVE & DRAMA

So Jack's left the country leaving the heartbroken, confused, devastated and bitter Lana behind but he has also left an opening for the patient, drool-worthy Firefighter and ex Playboy Callum to step in and seize his chance with Lana. He knows it's going to be an uphill struggle, a nearly impossible feat and an emotionally and sexually frustrating endeavour but he's willing to take the chance, to put in the effort and to pull out all the weapons in his very large arsenal because, for him, to win Lana's love would be worth it all. So he starts off slowly by being a friend, a shoulder to cry on and giving her a taste of a loving family when he introduces her to his lovely Aunt who had raised both him and Jack. Lame and Disappointing

I love the humor and style of MacAlister's work, but the plot of this one is lame. The story is patchy. I have to agree with another reviewer who was put off by a serious topic, HIV, being used in this manner.

I really love Macalister's books but...

I think I have all of Katie Macalister's books and like all of them because they are light and funny and the characters get themselves in ridiculous but funny scenarios that they eventually find their way out of. But I was actually repulsed by the scenario the main character plotted. I am a health care worker so maybe that is my problem with this, but ugh... I just am not super impressed with the main plot. The two characters were likable for the most part. And there were funny moments. But I was cringing at the main scenario. I don't want to give spoilers in my review so I won't go in to details. I gave it three stars because I didn't give up on it which is usually what I do if I hate the book.

Better and better!

This is an excellent book to listen to any time! I was leary about the readers - not a big fan of two readers and wasn't impressed by their reading in "The Importance of Being Alice", but they chenged the accent of the main character, Gunner, to British (not good British, but passable) and that helped keep my attention. The writing is, as always, wonderful! Katie MacAlister is a wonderful story teller. I look forward to the next in the series.

Fun, silly romantic mystery

I enjoyed this book. While the romantic lead make was over the top, it was in a fun way. The smidgeon of archeology was interesting. The mystery wasn't that obscure, but that wasn't the point. It was more character driven. Nice light read.

Another Katie Macalister Romp!

Katie makes it a fun romp with believable characters and a little mystery with the bad guy being a surprise! I love how she makes you laugh in her stories and this one was well performed by the two readers!

Adolescent Book made worse by female narrator

What did you like best about Friend-Zoned? What did you like least?

Girl with a tragic past has overcomes it to be a positive, kind woman with a group of close friends. I wanted to like this book as the heroine seems to be plucky and strong. It may have been an okay book to read but listening to it really annoyed me. The narration of the heroine's part was way over the top. It was like sitting in the booth next to a bunch of high school girls that are chattering away over dramatically. The sound made when the squeaky shop door opened was just irritating!

Great story!!

This was a wonderful story. I loved the fact that the two main characters had a chance to slowly get to know one another before they became a couple. It was not that instant falling in love a first sight. The secondary characters also made this a wonder book. My only issue was at times was the female narrator voice. I think this would have been better just with Douglas Berger doing the narrating. He was excellent in this Audio version. I do think that I will take a chance and listen to the next book in this series.

Adorable! Loved it!

To be perfectly honest within the first 15 minutes of listening to this book I was about to give up on it. Thankfully I didn't! At first the female narrator irritated the snot out of me, she's incredibly peppy and sounds ditzy as all get out but then I realized she was PERFECT for Tina. Tina is super peppy and positive most of the time despite terrible emotional scars and trauma, and let's face it, she's kind of a ditzy goofball. I absolutely loved it though, she is incredibly humorous and brings out the best in Nick. The male narrator did a great job as well! This book made me laugh out loud so many times and tear up also. The first word that comes to mind when I think of this book is adorable, although I usually enjoy a good steamy romance I enjoyed the banter and interactions between the characters so much that I couldn't have cared less about the steamy parts (although I did enjoy those parts as well) . I barely stopped smiling throughout the entire book, definitely worth a credit or buy!

Highly disappointing!

Mia Get Your Gun

The Good: the author showed what really happens when a violent controlling man becomes obsessed with a naïve woman. Unlike the absurd and dangerous fantasy perpetuated by FSOG, Mia did not find being was stalked, terrorized and almost killed by her ex-boyfriend an erotic or romantic experience.

The Bad: after barely escaping with her life and going back to her small Texas hometown, Mia does NOT learn to protect herself. She doesn't learn self-defense, how to use a weapon or have a security system installed in her building. Since Mia earned a MBA in business, she should have been smarter than that.

As the first book in a romantic series, there was great potential; entertaining moments, some explicit but not degrading sex scenes, a sexy, non-violent hero and an endearing cast of friends, family and neighbors.

Phenomenal narration and story line!

How can you make a terrific book even better? It's by making it into an audio book and having a narrator with a fantastic voice read it!

The characters came to life in my mind as the story was read to me.

Sawyer and Mia were made for one another. Their dialogue and scenes together were witty, funny and even sexy.

This is my 2nd audio book (as in ever) and I have to say that this is the best way to get through working on a project!

Would you consider the audio edition of Love to be better than the print version?

A great narrator brings a book to life. The narrator of this series does a good job.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Love the grandfather and his tendency to interfere.

I might recommend this with the understanding that this is part of a series and that the story line in the prolog isn't brought up in the story.

Which character as performed by Luke Daniels was your favorite?

I didn't have a favorite, but did like Luke's different voices. Each character was easy to identify by voice. Luke's performance was the saving grace for this book. I would listen to another book performed by him.

Do you think Love needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Definitely--the story line was incomplete. It starts with a wedding ceremony, but one of the brides hasn't been introduced into the story line by the end of the book, and there are unresolved story lines for the other two couples.

Relaxing Read

This story is exactly what the headline says. I was in need of a book to listen to that was entertaining and relaxing. Love filled the bill. I found the narrator easy to listen to. The change between characters was easy to follow. Don't know that I will try other titles in the series. There are other series I've listened to that engaged me more.

As a avid audible listener this is the first book I attempted to return because the narration is so bad. I can not listen to the screaming.

Sherryl is one of my favorite authors, will listen to her again, just not this narrator.

Sweet Romance

Camille Thompson is a rising star at work, the go-to person for difficult deals, with an uncanny ability to convince reluctant owners to sell and she is headed to Coral Cove, Florida to work her magic on Reece Donovan and convince him to sell his motel to her company so they can build a resort on the land. Coral Cove is a busy tourist spot but in recent times, business has been on the decline and Reece's Happy Crab motel is mostly empty. In spite of that he is not willing to sell the motel, for sentimental reasons and Camille is determined to close the deal even if it means using unconventional methods.

Camille is a strong, smart woman who walked away from her past and made a new life for herself. She has chosen to focus on her job and finds herself out of her element when she begins to fall for Reece, especially because he is not her type. Reece is laid-back, easygoing and carefree and lives life to the fullest. He decides to show Camille the Coral Cove he's spent all his life in and Camille begins to fall in love with Coral Cove and soon she's thinking up ways to revive the town. She's even reassessing her life and making changes.

Ms. Blake paints a very vivid and appealing picture of Coral Cove - the beach, the motel and the characters, including the animals - making you just want to visit. The characters were fun and I enjoyed watching Camille and Reece's relationship unfold. The walks on the beach, the conversations, the slow slide into love, all of it. I even found myself cheering for the secondary characters and look forward to reading more from this series.

Love Me If You Dare is a feel-good romance, perfect for the beach or curling up by the fireplace.

Loved this fantastic addition to the Coral Cove series. Aside from the expected writing and storytelling, the characters in this series really jump up and grab your attention from the very beginning. Reece Donovan is the laid back owner of The Happy Crab but dealing with the high handed pressure of the company who wants to buy his land and build a resort has him anything but laid back. When Camille Thompson, the latest rep from that company to contact him, shows up at his motel he wants to dislike her. But he can't. Something about her calls to him. After spending time with "Cami", as he calls her, his feelings are growing but can he trust her??

Excellent read you don't want to miss.
