A fabulous series!!

(I need to know about that phone call right now that Finn received!! Is he having to leave to go on tour or did someone die in her family or did they find out their relationship?? I hope he hasnt been in remission and has cancer like his mother. The title would be fitting for the 1.5 Novella then there is a book 2 after that. Questions, I really need a synopsis here Jen!!!) side note before I read Out of Time

Out of Time Review.......So......Jen.......What the Crap!! Not just a "Cliffhanger" again but a HUGE Cliffy.......I am definitely not feeling "Positive as a Proton" about this at all!!

I freakin loved this book from the beginning to the end! I cried off and on probably the last 25% of the book! Wow, another fantastic series and cannot wait for book 3. I so want to see things come together for Finn and Carrie because they have gone through so much heartache and tragedy together. I would love to see at least a proposal maybe a wedding, just saying.

I would even like to see a story for Hernandez and Marie. That would be interesting....hint, hint ;)

Now I have to Wait for Next Book

Have you ever started a book and got an ominous feeling about the story. Well, that happen to me as I started Out of Time.

When we last left off in Out of Line, Finn and Carrie decided to hold off telling her folks. So, throughout the story they are trying to keep their relationship under wraps, because Finn doesn't believe Carrie's parents would accept him. After all he was merely a bodyguard to Carrie. However, complications arise and jeopardize their relationship.

Basically, we are watching Carrie and Finn's relationship blossom. Like most relationships, they have their up and downs. Then you have the complication of keeping the relationship a secret. As I read Out of Time, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, because things were going to well. Eventually, it does, which actually leads to a cliffhanger. It's a pretty obvious one at that. Bad news you have to wait for the new book, but the good news there's going to be more to Carrie and Finn's story. I kind of wonder what's going to happen in the next book, because I'm sure it's going to be an emotional story.

Other than the cliffhanger ending, I did like the story. It wasn't as fast pace as the first book, but you dived a little deeper in Carrie and Finn's relationship.

Pretty good addition to the series :)

This was a pretty good story. TBH, I wasn't sure if I'd like this one as I'd heard iffy things about the story but I actually liked it more than I expected. Fair warning...there is a couple off things that could cause people issues... 1. Audrey has a hard time letting her Ex, Levi, go and after Audrey and Tate sleep together the first time, she ends up sleeping with Levi again. Now she was thinking of the night with Tate as a one night stand so I wouldn't call it cheating at all but there was a "ick" factor to it. While Audrey was a bit wishy washy about Levi at first, I wouldn't say this would be considered a true love-triangle situation. 2. Audrey does get attacked (but not raped) at one point in the story and is badly hurt.

Audrey is the sister of Fallon (the heroine from book #2). Audrey works as a customer service manager for her family's winery. Unfortunately, Audrey doesn't really like the winery or working customer service so she kind of hates her job. Her pleasure in life comes from her friends and family and she cherishes them.

Tate is a Goaly for a professional hockey team. Tate grew up in Sweden and he's been playing hockey since he was 4 years old. Tate's parents and sister were killed in a car accident and he's never truly recovered from that, feeling very alone now because they were the only family he had. Thankfully, Tate has gotten close to Lucas and the rest of the team and they've become like family to him.

Most of the past year, Audrey has been dating Levi (who used to be Lucas' BFF). Levi treats Audrey like crap but keeps her hanging on with just enough kindness to make her think their relationship could turn good. I couldn't see what she saw in him but Audrey seems to have some major image issues (most likely brought on by Levi's emotional and verbal abuse) at first. It seems like Audrey is so lonely that she's convinced herself that getting some good times out of Levi makes all the horrible crap he does to her worth it. When the story begins, Levi has just called Audrey and broke up with her after admitting to cheating on her and calling her horrible names. And Audrey is hoping that maybe he'll still come back to her... *shakes head* So, Audrey is at a bar that night for Fallon's bachelorette party and meets Tate.

Avoiding Intimacy

I have not liked Chyna at all, so I was less than thrilled to see that Avoiding Intimacy was focused on her. However, I went into this (long) novella with an open mind. Even if I didn't like her as a character, I figured the author would work her magic and make her story pull me in. Well, I was wrong. I definitely like Chyna less now, and I even started disliking Adam, who appeared to be quite the sweetie in the previous books. This takes place at the same time as parts of Avoiding Responsibility, but even knowing that, I wound up confused several times. The format of alternating between past and present simply didn't work, since the story only takes place over four months.

The only parts of Avoiding Intimacy I really liked was Chyna and Marco. He's this world famous fashion designer, and she's modeling for him in Milan. In fact, she's the star of the show, but that has less to do with her talent and more to do with them having kinky sex all over the place. It started to veer into BDSM territory which is ultimately what held my attention, but other than that I was just annoyed with Chyna (and Adam). The events leading up to her leaving for Milan just didn't make sense. We already knew that they broke up when Adam's brother hit on Chyna, but Adam didn't believe her. Then they get back together, and he throws a fit because she took the job in Milan. He doesn't want to do a long distance relationship, so he dumps her. Um, what? It's not like she's moving. She just took a job! She'll be back! Then of course, when she comes back home they get back together because it's no longer long distance. Whatever.

Chyna's Story

If you've read the first two books in the 'Avoiding' series, then you probably love Lexi's fiercely loyal best friend, Chyna, like I do. Every girl needs a Chyna in their corner. She's been there to support her best friend through thick and thin, despite Lexi's less than stellar choices.

From her first appearance in this series, I've wanted to know more about this mysterious lady. She plays the part of the spoiled, rich "princess" when it suits her, but it is clear that there is far more beneath the surface. This is Chyna's story. It was raw. It was painful at times, but it was everything that I wanted.

Chyna yearns for intimacy and connection. Mostly, she just wants to feel wanted...to be someone that somebody else cannot live without. She needs to be needed and loved.

Was she ill?

I enjoyed the story. It kept me going. I love the connection between the characters. The one thing I didn't like was that the narrator sounded like she was sick with a stuffy nose. I did get use to it after awhile but it was still irritating to begin with.

LOVED IT!! Now on to audio book #2

I really enjoyed this story and bravo to the narrator. I don't know how many times I have listened to audio books where there are steamy scenes but the narration makes it come across as cheesy. I have honestly found myself steering clear of audio books where I know there will be allot of erotic scenes because they just never come across good due to narration, I find I enjoy them better if I read the book because the story doesn't get ruined by the voice playing out the scene. This was probably one of only a few audio books where I can honestly say I loved everything about it. Anxious to start audio #2 to see how this story plays out.

When I first started this book, I was excited because I love stories about wild rock-stars that fall in love. This one hooked me in from the beginning, I instantly loved the chemistry between Eliza and Gage. I was addicted to the sexual tension between these two. They become involved and are soon smoking up the sheets. Hot stuff !

Eliza has had a tough childhood, if you can even call it a childhood. Her mother never cared about her, and let her get physically abused, but not in the sexual sense. Eliza isolated herself, not letting anyone in. She wanted normal, and to feel safe. She finally moved in with her homosexual father Ben, who happens to be the manager of FireNine, a rock-band. Ben tries to get her to come out of her shell. He invites her on to go on tour with them before heading to school. She reluctantly agrees, even though she doesn't want to be near Gage. A guy she has had a crush on for the longest time. Now, he seems to be interested in her. She tries not to fall for him. He insists on pursuing her.

Gage is the lead singer, guitarist and lyric writer from FireNine. He has also had a troubled upbringing, one he tries to hide from everyone. He covers up his pain in music, booze, and women. That is the only thing the numbs he feelings. Then he meets Eliza, his manager's daughter and he instantly wants to know her. She is different from any other girl. She makes him feel again.

I said I wasn't going to buy these teasers but after The Proposition #1 I am hooked so don't buy it if you are revolting against the mini book like I was! It starts off slow, I was happy because my revolt was going to play out but by the end my earbuds were steaming! I can't help it I am an erotica junkie!

Great book to get you into the Christmas Spirit

I do a lot of review reads so that I hardly ever have time to read just for fun, books of my choice. I decided to take a few hours to read something of my own choosing and this was it. With the holidays nearing, I thought this would be the perfect read to get me into the holiday spirit. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed.

This is a great 3 book set written by 3 different authors that all have a great tie in together. Each story is unique in their own way. These are sweet romances with a good story lines, great character development and easy to become invested into the characters and the descriptions to details were done nicely by all of the authors.

These stories complimented each other nicely. This has really put me into the holiday spirit and I can not wait to read more holiday books. Each story had it's own trouble and tribulations, funny and serious bits and of course their own HEA. I loved the opening and closing of this book with the 3 best friends together, preparing us for the stories inside and then giving us the heartfelt wrap up of their stories as well.

Would I recommend this series? Yes

Would I read more from these authors? Yes

This review is of âThe Sugar Cookie Sweetheart Swapâ an anthology of three interrelated stories: âWhere Thereâs Smokeâ by Donna Kauffman; âThe Gingerbread Manâ by Kate Angell; and âSugar and Spiceâ by Kimberly Kincaid. The stories will be reviewed in the order they are listed in the book.

Story #1: Where Thereâs Smokeâ by Donna Kauffman.

The Story: The book begins in the town of Pine Mountain, in the Blue Ridge mountains, just before Christmas. Here, Clara Parker, a food columnist for the Pine Mountain Gazette and her besties, Abby Denton and Lily Callahan, both bakers, are participating in a local tradition; a yearly Christmas Cookie Swap. Clara is going through a rough time; she broke up with her boyfriend and was fired from her previous job-as a romantic advice columnist-before saving her bacon and getting the job as a cookie-writing columnist. Now, Clara has to solve one teensy little problem: she has to learn how to bake.

Clara takes a trip to a bookstore in a neighboring town. There, she finds a book on baking-and an old friend, the former geek, now chic, Will Mason, the hero of the book and a hunky firefighter who is doing a signing for a calendar that he is the cover model of.

Upside: Not much.

Downside: Neither Clara nor Will were particularly interesting or deep characters. Ms. Kauffmanâs writing style is very wordy, almost unnecessarily so.

Bottom Line: I was very disappointed in âWhere Thereâs Smokeâ. Iâve heard a lot of good things about Ms.

Love it!

I love a Lil action adventure with my sexy love stories and this one was spot on. Wish there was dual narration but, the narrator did good.

Overall the book was good and much as one would expect of a romance novel. It did seem as if the author was uncomfortable using 'locker room talk' between the guys and honestly should have left that out instead of trying to make it work

Hope Almost Flames Out

I felt that this little romance was predictable and while it was a pleasant listen, it is not a really enticing beginning to a series. It has all of the important elements: unplanned meeting and attraction, long build-up to a relationship they each wanted to deny, some adult sexual experiences, scary moments and resolution.

Oh, also had a lot of dog stuff, which I liked.

The narration was excellent.

I am undecided about this book 2.

NOT MUCH IMAGINATION !!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I guess I would have given it more intrigue. This was so vanilla in all areas; the suspense/drama, everyday life, romance & sex. Nothing hear to "grab" me or my emotions.

The ending was typical and predictable.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Like most, not all mind you, but most female narrators the male voice(s) were quite lacking, but I didn't hate it.

I have listened to many Jaci Burton books and while they are not your "sit on the edge of your seat and hold your breath" type of books most of them did have more substance than this one. I hope the rest of this series picks up the pace.

Nick Spalding is simply brilliant at humor

Just listen to any Nick Spalding audiobook. Audible classifies this book as contemporary romance. It is humor rather than romance. Love...Under Different Skies is a gem.

Love it!

I can't recommend this book highly enough. Light-hearted, funny, and excellently well narrated. The narrators make this story come to life. So glad I found this series!

HILARIOUS!

The entire series is amazing. funny. witty. charming. Great read. And the narrators are awesome at emotion and sarcasm, making it funnier. Author did a great job with creativity and making the book so true to life and our inner thoughts. Enjoyed it tremendously. The analogies he writes are...just...you have to read to understand. Just hilarious. Buy it. Read it. Read the first two, first. You won't regret it.

Spalding is brilliant!

After " Bricking It", or rather after my abs recovered from "Bricking It" I devoured the Love series. My only regret is that it's over. I've laughed out loud so many times at work now that my boss fears for my already strained sanity but it's totally worth it.

Terrible Narration Makes Book Unreadable

I think I would like this book. I have liked the two other Dee Ernst books I have listened to. And I have several Joyce Bean narrated books in my library. She isn't on my "absolute-favorite narrator of all time list" but she is generally a good "reader". However she affects such a stereotypical New Jersey accent in this book, I could not finish it. It grated on my nerves so badly, I had to stop reading. A strong New Jersey accent is challenging to listen to even if it is authentic. This was so affected and such a caricature of the real thing, if I was from New Jersey I would be insulted.

I will probably pick up the ebook and read it eventually. It is going to take awhile for the awfulness of the audiobook to be wiped from my memory though.

If you are a huge Dee Ernst fan, the narration might be acceptable to you. If not, listener be warned.

Good writing but slow story

I really liked this story in the beginning. I listened to the book and the narrator was fun to listen to. There was a lot of humor which I love in any book...but then it just got old and there was no real story towards the end. It wasn't a bad book, but I was expecting more out of it.

Great Plot with Huge Flaw

With the exception of one incredibly unrealistic character, A Slight Change of Plan was humorous, engrossing and entertaining, especially for the over 50 crowd.

I loved that the novel centered on Kate, a 55 year old woman who was ready & eager to enjoy life to it's fullest. Kate, widowed for 8 years with 3 grown children, was brave enough to make attempt dating and try a new career. The plot was an interesting mix of family drama, friendship and romance, in that order of importance. Serious issues of adultery, illness, and difficult family members were mixed with lighter moments; enjoyable without being depressing or sappy sweet.

Unfortunately, there was one ridiculous character - Kate's mom - who was too nasty to make the ending believable. Spoiler: Mom stopped speaking to Kate right after her husband died and avoided all contact for EIGHT years. When Mom was hospitalized, Kate rushed to her side and took Mom home to care for the nasty bitch regardless of how cruel and hateful Mom treated Kate.

First, no decent mother (or human being) would be deliberately & relentlessly hurtful for months & years without regret or remorse. Second, no woman should allow anyone, including a parent, to disrespect and degrade her feelings & intelligence.

Nothing, She took the Montana Ranch right of the books in Slade and Randi.

this sounded more like college kids in L.A.

The Final Installment Worth Reading

Finally, here it is... the conclusion. This is the last book of the series and finally the questions are answered. Like all other books in the series, there's still some hot edgy sex to keep you warm.
