Whispering narrator irritates.

The Female narrator is often using a slow whispering breathy voice to the female characters inner monologue. And it is so irritating that I serveral times thought about not finishing the book actually.

The story is ok, and you do want to know how it all ends. But not close to worth the money/credit.

great storyline

After Monica is rescued from her abusive Dom by Ethan, she is not interested in anything other than getting her Chateau up and running and keeping her girls happy and safe. Henry meets Monica through one of the Patrons of her Chateau and he is very persistent in what he wants and luckily gets it after several attempts. Although Monica doesn't trust anyone she warms up to Henry after meeting him a few times. They have great chemistry and Monica needs a Dom that is going to put her on a pedestal and worship her after all of the abuse she has suffered. This was a great trilogy.

3 For The Narration

A narrator can make or break an audible story and this one broke it.

I struggled to keep up with the characters because her voice didn't attempt to change between characters at all. It was frustrating.

The story itself was good but I'm getting my credit back on this one.

I'll NEVER listen to it or any other book solely narrated by Carrie Brach. She can't handle various characters or male characters at all. She has a good voice and if she were playing one female character ALONE it would have been fine.

Caution

first the good news. Good story line. It's nice to read a story that makes sense where they're not jumping into bed at the first sight of each other or taking over the office furniture this was a little more realistic

now for the bad news the narrator of this book did a horrible job it made it boring it made it tedious. so I will never buy a book narrated by Carrie Brach. secondly if I wanted to read about two gay men giving each other a b****** that would blow their minds I would buy those types of books so I didn't need to hear about it or read about it or have it in a storyline they tried to put two romances and one book I can understand them introducing the two characters but that should have been a storyline or a book on Allen son might that's my personal opinion.

Great Book Worth Reading A1

I didnt even know I finish this book so fast like God. I need part 3 lol. I want to know what will happen next. I was so hoping for John and Mariana to do the do and they finally did. Lmao I so want her with John but I don't I mean I hope he's nothing like Dornan, because I want her with him he's definitely the book babe in the book series. Lol Dornan becoming like his dad and it's sicking . I bet going to run away and poor Jason I bet he going to hate his dad for killing his mom.

cliffhangers!

Great story line and great characters. not just a clean cut love story like most books. I dont like waiting for cliffhangers though. can't wait for the end of the story!

Dark, Gritty and Captivating

I really wouldn't classify Empire, or the Cartel series a romance. Dornan Ross is a despicable, manipulative abuser and I find it disconcerting whenever I read reviews talking about how hot he is.

I really enjoyed the whole series. It was upsettingly realistic - a woman who is "property" of the cartel certainly would suffer the horror that Marianna suffers. She is pragmatic in her efforts to keep surviving in a life that rarely offers her any genuine happiness.

Both narrators do an outstanding job. I would have to say Roger Douglas has one of the loveliest voices I have ever heard. Deep, clear and very sexy!

An explosive second instalment to this raw and gritty story!! How is it possible that I have come to love Dornan despite hating him in the Seven Sons series!! Ugh!! I loved the constant push/pull between Mariana and Dornan and at first I was a bit hesitant about John but now I feel so torn!! Lili St Germain, you are an incredible author!!!! I can't wait for the final book!!!!

I love the narrators for this series!!! Roger Douglas is especially is PERFECT as Dornan!

This story leaves you hanging. it's pretty deep in a love triangle. The suspense, darkness and drama leaves you knowing the rest of the story will captivate you even more.

"Tug at the Heart" Kind of Story,

Another great book by Sloan Storm. Grey and Maddie have an off again/on again type relationship. Grey refuses to acknowledge that he needs more or that he loves Maddie. Maddie desperately needs Grey to acknowledge their love and she needs more love and support. She also has not given up her goal of becoming a famous actress.

Maddie is drinking way too much, neither Grey or her best friend Katy are seeing this problem.

Maddie's ex Trevor reappears in this story, and offers her a lead position in a movie. Grey finds out about this, then shuts down the opportunity, he tries to totally control Maddie.

"As she finished telling me her story,I realized that once again she'd put me in a position where I'd have to help her to get her priorities straight. Tiresome f___ing chore though it was, she left me with little choice. She was the face of this fledgling brand we were building and like it or not, her dreams would have to wait."

Maddie figures things out with the movie and she loses it on Grey. "Spinning in place, I pressed my back against the door and rested there, listless, until the tears I'd fought back at last began to spill. As they ran down my cheeks, I turned my ear to the door and listened until his footsteps disappeared down the hall and out of my life forever.

I feel sad, now that I am reviewing this book. I think it took me a couple days to get my mind around how I was going to write this review. Maddie is portrayed as a young woman with little experience in business and she seems to also lack relationship skills. She made choices that did add to her feelings of lack of control over her life. Her drinking and running away from her job and responsibilities will have terrible repercussions in her life. Its hard to not feel sorry for her and for Grey who is not getting the full information on what is happening in her life.

I don't want to give away the story or any major spoilers, this book is well written and touches some delicate issues that women have had to deal with in the past. I was eager to continue on with the next book to see how it all turns out in the end.

oooo it's getting better then the last. Maddie is getting under my skin..I want to slap her silly! I cant believe how she is behaving in this installment. How can she be so focused on becoming an actress? She has a great buisness going on and now that it's on the way to expansion. Now she wants to up and quit to become an actress (is beyound me). Especially that every time she goes out for an audition that fails or get her small parts. Let alone when her ex slezzball boyfriend offers her a part with the altematame that he wants her back! oh Maddie is just off her game now. Grey comes down on her to focus on the buisness and she spirals in to drinking way to much. She asks Grey to clarify their relationship.

Sweet story with my fav narrator

Def recommend this for all that love sports, romance, good friends, and sweet stories. The narration was wonderful as she did the accents pretty darn well so we could fully enjoy the story and the characters. The cover is beautiful too. I'm buying all books that McManus narrates as she's believable and always adds to the story. And I'm def downloading the next book by Henry. Excited to see who she focuses on next. Hopefully josh...

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A different narrator!!! Warner Monroe makes it sound like something from "Mayberry". Seriously u can't make a MMA fighter sound so small, and did Celia Loren, really listen to this Pryor to its release.

I felt like my grandma was reading me a story!

The book itself was really good. There were ups there were downs there were suspense. I wish I wouldn't have gotten it as an audiobook. Because the person narrating sounded like they were 75 years old. And that was definitely kind of uncomfortable during the sex scenes. I'm almost wondering if the author listened to it before she released it.

Legal Briefs...sizzlingly sexy

Would you consider the audio edition of Legal Briefs to be better than the print version?

I actually read this book before I listed to the audio version and think that the narrator Tavia Gilbert has done a brilliant job in bringing the story and the characters to life. I found myself absorbed into the world created by the Lawyers in Love series as I listened to the audio book. I would highly recommend both the audio and print version of this book and look forward to listening to more in this series in the future.

N.M. Silber did it again, this book is brilliant. I loved the first two books in the Lawyers in Love series but Legal Briefs just took the series to a whole new level. The book focuses on the Lily Adler and Adam Roth whose chemistry is sizzling sexy. I really enjoyed Lily and Adams witty banter, bickering, sweet and funny moments. I was completely emotionally wrapped up in Adam and Lily's romance. I have to admit that Legal Briefs, the third instalment in the Lawyers in Love series, is my favourite so far, I didn't want this book to end and I hope the author writes more of this couple. I recommend getting this series; it's hot, sexy and good fun.

Funny and smart romance.

Boring, dragged their YA drama forever

I did not like the story and the shallow drama.

I loved Stepbrother Dearest for example, read the book and listened to it. Very sweet, mature and intelligent.

This too high school drama, too boring...

Almost didn't read, SO glad I'm did!

Was a pinch turned off by the whole stepbrother thing (having a stepbrother myself) but I could not stop listening to this book! The story combined with the narration was great! It was a bit over dramatic, and a little stalker-ish but she's 18 so it works well. I reccomend.

interesting story plot line

I highly enjoyed the story. It had a very interesting story plot line. totally worth the $14 spent on it. One that I will definitely listen to again and again. Completely standalone

Whiney sister, terrible stepbrother characters. Could somebody get a backbone? The story was so annoying that I gave up halfway through. This will be a return.

I am a big fan of this author and I was gifted the audio book for an honest review. I really loved parts of this book, loved the writing, and the narrator, I think, did an amazing job. Unfortunately, the first part of the book was a little difficult to get through but I think that is mainly because I have a low tolerance for people that seem to just whine and want but are not willing to do anything about it. Although once Abi put things into motion it turned into a great book to listen to.

Typical but nice read

Ah- the beautiful people of St. Denis with all of their little problems. With that but of sarcasm aside, I do enjoy reading about the sweet town and the people who choose to live there.
