    Favourite heresy book so far
Probably due to my love of Titans, this was my favourite book thus far in the series
A facinating and exciting look into the Mechanicum
The best book in the series so far.
It delves deep into the individual thoughts and more broadly the culture of the Adepts of the red planet.

    A definite good read but...
A definite good book but not so good narrator. Childish voices, and odd vocalisations overall.
    Really not very good.
Firstly: the voices that the narrator chooses for the main characters is infuriating. secondly, the astartes make numerous stupid mistakes and oversights that I simply cannot believe that warriors who have fought in hundreds of wars could ever make. the primary example of this being where they totally miss that a battle has not happened ina place where they thought that it had. beyond this the plot is simply OK.
I personally wish that I hadnt used a credit on this.

when you want to route for the bad guys
The story of the Thousand Sons finally told from their view. Are these bad guys really the bad guys after all? Graham McNeill knocks it out of the park once more!
    get a better narrator!
So out of all the 40k books ive listened to or read this one took the longest. the names of characters were too complex that they did not even seem human and this made following certain events confusing. but what reallky made it difficult to finish this Audio book was the narrator. the only change of voice he used for different characters was an increase in his volume, so it sometimes leaves you wondering as to whos talking.
    Great listen!
5s from me, this book was everything I hoped it would be! Thanks audible for adding the Horus Heresy to your already huge library
    Simply Brilliant
Loved It, great introduction to the Thousand Son legion and Magnus the Red.

    Definitely worthwhile
Abbot at his finest. Certainly a worth while listen if you are a fan of the series. Really liking this narrarator as well.
    Great intro to the universe.
Great introduction to the Warhammer series, and the narration is full of passion and character.
    As entertaining as it gets!
The story was capturing; worlds beyond are painted in explicit color with familiar similes and analogies, all the while remaining in the fantastic universe of WH40K. Armstrong's narration is brilliant, with distinct voices that portray the internal morality and mettle of the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this audio book and would recommend it to anyone interested in a gruesome sci-fi thriller.
    fun story
great story really enjoyed yhe content woukd like different people reading the dofferent characters though
    love the orks

    Amazing Book!
This book is one of the greatest 40k books in the series, I highly recommend this book to any fan of Warhammer 40k.
    "Until the End"
Bowden's writing brought to life in only the way Keeble can. Road by bloody road the forces of Hellsreach are beaten back. Yet they stand. Until the end.
    Sassy guardsmen
Love this book. So many smartass guardsmen. Pure bliss. Why does everyone keep asking about the damn reinforcements May be that none of us wanna die, sir
    Really enjoyed it!
ADB does a good job of switching perspectives to different factions/viewpoints for a single battle in a planetary invasion. This keeps things interesting & fresh.
    a bit rushed
have read many many warhammer books over the years, both 40k and the medieval style, this is my first audio book of warhammer. although I really enjoyed it, it just seems like it was a bit rushed at certain points of the story, especially the ending. no spoilers, kinda expecting more drawn out conflicts

    Pointless
I am a big fan of the Alien Universe especially the last two movies. I am intrigued by the story and ideology way more than the horror part of it. This book is pointless. Yes I understand the title of the book but, it is so generic. It's like if I wrote down a 200 page book of my experience and preparations for a vacation involving planes and airport traveling. There is very little substance of anything pertaining to the Alien Universe. As Trump likes to tweet.... SAD, so SAD.
    Good preview into earth
Well the preview into earths conditions was nice. There was some slow parts but overall some nice info about the universe. Would have been hard to keep interest as there was not much action. Good thing this story was created after already being a fan. If it was first story in order...I dont know if it would create fans.
    good
nice edition to the timeline. no aliens are involved but i expected as much. still great though.
Hard sci-fi political intrigue in Alien Universe
If you haven't already - listen to this BEFORE the Alien: Covenant novelization!
Great reader, great writer - I love the Alien universe and and really happy to have an expansion of life on earth at the time of the Covenant launch with well voiced, interesting characters.
Great book, clean content and a great story.
The story and plot are clear and believable. The characters each play a followable role. I'm down loading the next book.

    Much better than book 1
Well Logan seems to be less of a stupid risk taker and more importantly I started to really like both Logan and Rex which I think is the key to any story. There are enough twists and turns to keep the listener fully engaged. It was engaging from the 1st chapter to the last.
I am not going to talk about the story line so your on your own.
    Disappointing
Having read the first book in this series, which I thought was very good, I had high expectations for book 2. Unfortunately, the book missed the mark in my opinion.
Ill start with the good. I like the concept of the book. I like the main character most of the time...and the performance of the narrator was amazing. He made the aliens come to life. Truly exceptional work.
However...almost every major scene in the book had a half-baked feeling that left the adventures of our hero very forgettable. I listened to the audio book over a two day period and I found myself forgetting what had happened earlier in the story simply because the descriptions of the various underwater alien bases, locations around the world, etc. felt bland and were difficult to visualize through the words of the author. I kept thinking things would get better...more interesting...but they didnt. When we finally got to the climax of the book, I had the distinct feeling that the author just wanted to be done...he rushed and wrote what seemed to be a lazy climax and ending. I think this author has a ton of potential. He just needs to give us a little more of the good stuff he had in book 1.

    Awesome!
How would I describe this series? In a word ... AWESOME! This collection includes the first three books of an awesome, action packed LitRPG series. The story is wild and complex and a total blast. Quantum Hughes, the main character of the series, is a wisecracking badass. The first book takes place in dark noir VR murder world, think the Matrix on steroids. Book two continues the story but this time the majority of the action shifts to a very cool steampunk word. And book three transports us to a more traditional fantasy world. I'd be hard pressed to say which book I liked best, as they all roll one into the other into a continuous epic tale. Give it a try and I'm sure you'll get sucked into the Loop! Can't recommend this series strong enough, and can't wait to see what happens next.
This set of book is narrated by Jeff Hays, who has become one of my favorite narrators. His vocal talents bring the characters and world to life. While Jeff narrates multiple genres, I've actually come to identify the sound of his voice (voices actually given how he manages to give every character their own distinct voice) with the LitRPG genre, to the point that even when I'm reading a LitRPG novel I hear his voice(s) in my head.
Like you games with a little bit of noir flair
Damn, This book set is a wild ride. Filled with wit, chaos, and a little bit of the ultra-violence! Not a lot of narrators could pull this off but its another shining example of both Harmon Cooper and Jeff Hayes!
    Wow. Loved it.
Great boxed set. Want to hear the next three. The story is wonderful and interesting, with characters you want to follow. Keep up the great writing. I received this audio book for free at my request and voluntarily reviewed.
    Great series
This is an Omnibus that contains the first 3 books in the series, as of this review. There are 7, but only the first 3 are on Audible. The next 3 are coming shortly. It is a great take on the LITRPG genre. Each world has its own genre and the characters are able to travel among them which helps to keep things fresh and interesting. The characters are likeable and the story moves at a great steady pace. Each book is short, but they have their own ending and as a whole provide a lot of story, RPG action and fun. Narration is great, each character has their own voice.
    A fun read!
After an experiment gone wrong quantum the main character gets trapped repeating the same day in the virtual world.
He must figure out how and why this has happened, and how to stop it from continuing. Great listen was like a movie.

    Great as always but ...
If you are this far into the series it doesn't matter what I say because like me you are addicted and have to know what's next. This is a great story but compared to the others in the series it felt lacking, however I see it as a necessary building block for the story as a whole and worth the listen.
    Great story, abrupt ending
What made the experience of listening to To Fire Called the most enjoyable?
The latest installment of the tales of the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper follows the same overall easy going slice of life as the previous books, you're not on the edge of your seat reading/listening to this series, you're relaxed in an arm chair on a lazy Sunday afternoon drawn into the world and don't want to leave. The only downside is leave you must, and like with many of its predecessors the book ends abruptly and it feels like I missed out on at least 3 chapters.
    Prefer Author Narration
After hearing the original podcast read by the author, it is a bit disheartening the trend did not continue. Lowell brought a depth to Ishmael Wang that is sorely lacking without his narration. As for the series itself, great character and plot development, good reference to prior material, and reintroduction to several subplots & characters round out a great addition to original series.
    Amazing story, very poor reader.
I absolutely love Nathan Lowells stories about Ishmael. He gave life to him and his team through his readings on the podcast versions of the fist 6 books... this reader makes Ishmael and his characters seem like disgruntled alcoholic 1940 NYC Detectives... the reader did a great job at his 1940s NYC Detective voice, but it is completely misplaced for Ishmael.
Please find a different reader for the next books that will do Nathan Lowells characters justice.
10/10 Story by Nathan Lowell. I look forward to the next one.
    I go back and forth.
I go back and forth on whether I like Nathan Lowell. After listening to this series twice I realize it's the performance of the narrator is the week spot if there is any.
I enjoy the series. His story make me want to go out and do business and get my owners share through hard work, dedication and a little luck.
