Well done, but with a shortcoming

The old testament synthesis and summary was AWESOME. The Pauline extrapolation was very good as well. The only thing lacking was more references to the Gospel, and to specifically the red letter words of Jesus. The author did cover a bit of it, but not nearly to the extent he covered the rest. That is really what I wanted, but I am still satisfied with what was provided in this book. I will probably need to give it another listen to make sure, and also continue my study elsewhere. In any case, this is a fantastic listen. My only other request was to make the book longer, but that might take away from the enjoyable conciseness of it too.

This book really was helpful to me in many ways. Learning about how to achieve emotional health through a spiritual connection is unique to anything i have ever read about emotional health. It is heartbreaking at times and inspirational on many levels, it leaves the reader with an abundance of tools and a ton of hope for growth towards true joy.

Toni Daniels exhibits the truth that strength is found in vulnerability and recovery is found in courage. She allows the reader to examine and reflect on the presence of Christ in their life by giving us a brave example in herself. Each chapter is fresh, well-researched, engaging, and thoroughly honest. It is often honest in a way that can be scary at times. But, in being authentic and personal, Toni Daniels gives her reader the authority to be honest themselves. Pick this one up, folks. I felt âveryâ touched and even when I canâ'ât relate to all the experiencesâ shared I do feel that the lies and truth behind them echoed in my soul. A lot to digest

I enjoyed listening to tge story of Lewis's conversion and I thought it was well read. But I found it difficult to digest in this format. I would have got more out of it if I had read it myself.

A MANUAL ON GOD's GLORY

As comprehensive as this book is I know there is so much more to learn about God's glory. This will take a lifetime.

Rev. Manwaring adds good examples to his revelations and scriptural points. His studious approach seems tedious at times but bears good fruit on the subject.

Good book for the serious searcher

Haven't quit finished this book but it is well worth your time. The book starts out spending time getting a strong background of Glory, in the Biblical setting. Then the author moves forward into applying these principle's in someone who is kingdom seeking, how the rubber hits the road with the topic. So if your living life, family, work, people how can God's Glory fit into your day to day nitty gritty.

Glorious exhibit of Glory in down to earth language.

Paul Manwaring has the akin abillity to write in an easy read worthy English, some pretty abstract concepts. Explaining them with good examples and wonderful insight, linking Old- and New Testament with one another. This is a book every pastor and worship leader should read.

Anointed teaching.

Powerfully written, well organized thought processes, and easy to jump between topics. I've read it several times and am still learning. I have it on my Kindle and my phone for quiet moments of reflection.

Paul makes the theological practical in this highly readable work. He "unpacks," if you will, the glory from Moses on down, and shines light on the glory of God and a culture of honor in this age. With current examples. Beautifully done.

I'm been avoiding dealing with my questions of spirituality and doubts for years now, but I feel like this book helped me reach a place where I can finally discover who God is to me. It's also brought about a lot of discussion with friends and family that I desperately needed. If only more of us spoke so candidly about Christianity.

Non-GMO and gluten-free!

This book is just great. Based on solid research but with a refreshing lack of pomposity, Scott Douglas takes us down to the fundamentals of Jesus the man and the Christ. And it is indeed fun!

An interesting book but the author holds some opinion that I do not. The humor was good but a touch over the top at times. I did enjoy the interjection of social media and wikibreaks.

This book will challenge your thinking. Many important though it will challenge your relationship. It is impossible to have a real relationship with out action!!! SO Take action.

Refresh Your Perspective on Jesus

In our context it can be increasingly more difficult to come to a full understanding of who Jesus is, why He mattered and what to do in response. Alot of speculation gets mixed in to cultural views of who Jesus is and before long it is easy to see people adopt a version of Jesus that looks little like the man we see in the Bible. Douglas takes on an interesting challenge in stripping back some of these cultural layers to uncover a fresh perspective of Jesus and what it means to follow Him. The book is part theology, part historical and part spiritual formation. Douglas does well to intersperse many creative elements into the book for the reader to engage with such as âwikiâ breaks, social media callouts, quizzes, charts, and more. I especially like the âWhich Bible Hero Are You?â that is found throughout the whole book, to create a unique spiritual inventory that helps those who take this journey with him to engage in a new way. Throughout the book Douglas is clear and to the point. Some of my favorite parts were the footnotes which are humorous and informative.

I donât necessarily agree with every theological presupposition Douglas makes in the book but many of his points are spot on. If you are looking for a fresh perspective of who Jesus is, why He matters and what it means to follow Him then this is a book I would suggest that is free from the jargon associated with others books of this nature.

I've read books that recommend keeping a spiritual journal but this is the first time I have read the inspiring suggestion to keep a Scripture book.

Kaylor proposes that we feast on the revelation found in the Word. Bible study and memorization are not enough. When a Scripture comes alive to us, when we receive insight and personal revelation, we record it in our Scripture book. She suggests we categorize the Scriptures in a way that relates to our world.
