As a financial planner, I want all my listeners to be good stewards of their hard-earned money. That means putting your money into investments instead of “under the mattress.” We know that money needs time to grow in investment accounts, but with emergency funds, we don’t have 40 years for that money to grow like we do with a retirement account. It’s better to keep your money somewhere more accessible, like in bonds.
