Hmmm....

This is the second book I have read or tried to read by Edie Bryant. The first book I didn't finish; this one I did. Now, overall the book was okay. There was a lot of repetition of events and thoughts which made the book redundant and slow. The constant monologue instead of dialgue and action wasn't something I am ever a real fan of regardless the writer. The two characters were not really personalized enough for me to get a grasp on them and there was no real supporting or surrounding characters to help build much of anything. So why the 3*?

Well...one its kindleUnlimited so it cost me nothing but a couple of hours. Two, if thentime frame between break-up, reunion, make up was longer and more believable (i fall on lack of characer building), the story would have worked better...i see this as a growing point. And three, I actually did like the premise of the story.

Regardless...if youve got time its not too bad a read.

Sweet story

I liked the book. Didn't think it was quite as compelling as Steep Slope or Love Me Not but still a good read. I really liked Sara but just couldn't make a good connection with Lauren. The story was good and showed just how jealousy and trust issues can cloud a good relationship. Happy with the ending. Was able to overlook more than several editing issues but still a book well worth reading.

Just Friends

I'm really beginning to love this author. Every story is tied up with a bonus chapter to download. This sums everything up. Lauren and Sara are long lost friends. They find each other again. Only problem is one of them has a fiance. But, there was a love scene. All I can say is WOW!!! That alone should get you to read their story. So read it already.

Great read

Believable characters - good storyline - makes one think of the way life goes in circles sometimes with unexpected consequences and events.

Kickass heroine action packed romantic suspense

The blurb of story caught my eye, it's not often you get a female bodyguard heroine. I'm trying to scour my head for another I read but I come up blank. So this is will be very interesting to see how it plays out.

Annie is kickass, tough, fiery and smart. After a stint in the military she has honed her skills well. As half of the IT for ICS she wants to do field work, this high profile job with Rocco Monroe in a great chance. Cast in a controversial movie role his studio requires him to take on a bodyguard. This wars with his pride but reluctantly agrees. They buttheads and argue a lot at first but Rocco has never met someone like Annie before and of course she's got his attention. But Annie is all about being professional.

Rocco maybe a movie star but he had a different upbringing and is really down to earth than Annie realized. He knows where he came from and he maybe old fashioned in his ways but that's a refreshing change in some ways. I have to say Annie can be turn off her emotions well and trained to do so from Army days. So much it's hard to distinguish her work and normal mode at times. She is a strong one her experiences in war shaped her, made her emotionally closed off but she's trying her best be more open which is all you can ask for. I felt awful for her her experiences you don't wish on anyone.. Her brother's over protective side is much valid all though annoying, I get why she's trying to shrug it off. Rocco wants more with her he's got his work cut out for him to get through her walls.

Their attraction is not one sided for sure. But the main goal is keeping Rocco safe. When attraction turns into and the ultimate issue will be if Rocco can get over his issue with Annie's dangerous job and the issue that entails. Can they find a way to reconcile both their jobs? Will the threat to the movie affect that too?

This sexy action packed romance by Sidney Halston is the second book in this series and I much liked the female body guard setting. Not the usual and gender flip is interesting for a guy to be protected and warring with his pride. I enjoy this author's writing I do wish the ending was expounded on a little but it's an ongoing series I'm enjoying this series for sure. The author's writing always draws you in the story which is great

Not an expensive purchase but definitely would not recommend it.

This book has so many typo's. It doesn't appear to have been edited at all. It is also a very short book. Multiple characters dialogue runs together in the same paragraph making it difficult to understand. I find myself having to go back and read some paragraphs a couple of times to see who was saying what. I'm not sure if this is the authors fault or the editors. Not an expensive purchase but definitely would not recommend it.

This is one of the "worse " books ever. Nothing flows-needs a proof reader to correct the errors - failed attempts to use power words & phrases were so lame - story & characters fell short of short or long term interest. Big waste of money for sure.

Do not waste your time

Where to start??? This short book is so full of mistakes, both spelling and grammatical. Words are missing and many sentences make no sense at all. The story is all over the place and difficult together follow. Characters come out of nowhere with no explanation. Did anyone bother to edit this? I highly doubt it. How did Frank allow her name to be associated with this?

Cole Boyd (the 5 star review) must be a relative. I can't make heads or tails of this. What a disappointment was looking for a good low country read.

One of the freshest new books I have read. I gave it five stars despite the spelling errors. It is in line with great authors like Pat Conroy, Dorthea Benton Frank, and Nicholas Sparks...though not as Romantic as Sparks.

Kash will steal your heart right along with Eden's! He might be my favorite WOS hero...

I'm a diehard Victoria Ashley fan so I'm always eager for her next release. In this case, it's slightly bittersweet since KASH is the final novel in the Walk of Shame series. I've loved and cherished each of these naughty novels. Starting with Slade years ago, it's been an epic journey for so many characters.

Well, Kash definitely does this series justice and might be my favorite hero yet. I know, I KNOW! How can I honestly have a top choice when they're all so amazing?! Trust me, once you meet Kash and experience his story, you'll be with me in this judgement. He's so protective and full blown alpha in all the most delicious ways. Seriously yummy!

Eden has been dealt a bit of a crappy hand, especially with her stupid ex. She's slightly resistant and standoffish due to past pain. Kash doesn't mind a challenge, especially with the beauty that's caught his attention. He can't stop thinking about Eden and he's so dedicated! I freaking love them together!!!

All of our favorite WOS bad boys make an appearance as we say goodbye to this fantastically filthy series. Victoria does it right by leaving Kash for the end and I secretly hope we haven't seen the last of these guys. Bravo to this talented author and thank you for such a wild ride!

WOS Forever!

What a great ending to a fun, hot, sexy, amazing series! The WOS boys will always be with me and Kash was the embodiment of them all. The strippers turned family men! Loyal, loving, funny and oh-so-wonderfully caveman like! Kash is all these, and more. I loved that he had an established relationship with Alec before Eden, it gave this final episode new depth that I didn't expect. I did get a little confused with all the different people that had "Knight" in their name. I kept expecting it to mean something. Whatever. In the end it hardly mattered because as with all these guys, they get the girl! But Kash works for it. He's single-minded about it, but with a sensitivity that some of the others didn't have. Again, great series, hate to see it end. Read them all. WOS forever!

This is the second audiobook in the Los Angeles Bad Boys series and like the Vegas Bad Boys series I'm enjoying it quite a lot. The hero is a famous movie star and the heroine is the girl he left behind back home. Thrown together by circumstance, they have to define their relationship. Narration was excellent.

Wow... Just, wow!

This plot was amazing! It was intricate, complex, and heartbreaking. I felt so much for the h. She was an amazing and strong woman in spite of everything. The H was a runner. When things got overwhelming he ran away. I didn't like him much when that happened, but when he finally came back home, he got a lot better.

As usual, the H was not celibate while gone the five years, and the h seemed to have been. He wasn't a man-ho but the current ex-girlfriend ends up being a true psycho. This was just a truly horrible part of the story and it was heartbreaking.

Luckily the ending is a beautiful one. I really liked this story and I'll probably re-read this one. The drama was that good.

One small ripple caused waves that extended out for years

Phenomenal book! An innocent and perfect love then turns two people into shattered fragments of themselves with one horrendous incident. Lonely, aching hearts take their toll and life continues to pelt with devastating pain. But out of desolation comes pure goodness and beauty. Years go by and life gives them a second chance to ignite the fires that burned so bright before. Hearts still need to be mended, trust needs to be restored, the truth needs to be spoken aloud and that goodness and beauty needs to be found. One small ripple caused waves that extended out for years. You won't make a mistake 1-clicking on this one.

At the end of this book all I could hear in my head were the words from Rachel Platten's Fight Song. Those words can work for both Ripley and Brock. Each had to look from within to conquer the evils of their pasts that hung from their necks.

Couldn't put it down!!!

It has been awhile since I read a book I couldn't put down, this one definitely is.

Brock has one night of regret, that changes everything for him and his girlfriend Ripley. Ripley has her own night of regret. Can they forgive enough to more forward with their love.

This is a book that grabs you and doesn't let go. It has some light hearted moments, along with some sexual heat. The author leaves us with a well written, passionate, book. In the end you are pulling for Brock and Ripley to find their HEA.

Great second chance romance!

In the beginning the love between Brock and Ripley was heartwarming and sweet but then some things happen that causes Brock to run. That's when the story changes and turns to heartache for this young couple. Both are now living life separate and have both been through their own tragedies.

First off, let me say this is not my normal genre; being a military/action/suspense/romance. It takes place in Somalia and I don't normally travel far from the US or Europe in my readings. So I went with an open mind, wondering where this new adventure in reading would take me. I was given an ARC by the author's publisher through Reading Alley in exchange for my honest review.

This is a 400 page book that spans about two days. To say the book is riddled with action is an understatement.

Tess Newell, strong willed and devoted-to-the-cause American journalist, is about to blow the lid off the story of a lifetime, incriminating governments, politicians, and leaders across a few countries. She is kidnapped and sentenced to be executed. Before that happens, a French Foreign Legionnaire is tossed into her cell.

The chemistry between Tess and Flynn, the Legionnaire, is sudden and swift. Thanks to Flynn's skills, they escape and flee, dodging their captures as their passions slowly escalate. There were a few places where they shared POV and it was a tad confusing, but that was the overall exception to the book. It was not enough to distract from the reading or action.

What I liked most about this story is how the author did not give Tess and Flynn any easy outs. When presented with a vehicle during their on-foot escape, many writers would be tempted to give them the vehicle and let them ride for a while. Ms. Kelly did not make things so easy on our hero and heroine. She refused to let them have the vehicle, and instead used it as a distraction as they continued on foot. The saga of their escape is full of such devises where the hunter--and reader--would expect them to do something, and the author takes them another way. Kudos on some splendid writing.

Because this is an action/ adventure story, there is also some sex. Their relationship, though fast to bloom, also seemed organic. Neither Tess nor Flynn want to trust the other, yet the gradual--grudging?--trust does form. And so does the sexual interest. Though they only make love two or three times, it is as explosive as the runaway action is.

Very fun, but it's been done before.

Honestly it was fun, and well read. However, the story-line resembled another sexy book we all know and love...in many ways. If you enjoy these types of books, then it's definitely worth a listen.

I love the flow of the story and the witty banter between characters. I like a more fun loving, less angst and self loathing story line as in this book. Sydney Landon has started this new series out perfectly. I'm looking forward to a Dana and Asher romance next!

This is really just girl meets boy, and despite their situations it's a relationship built on the basics of just getting to know each other without exterior factors.

Wow

The Wattpad version had me wanting to buy it so when I found this audiobook I had to try it out.

The voices honestly help me picture the people and listening to the book with my eyes closed allows me to imagine myself in her position.

It's easy to listen to in bed, at school, on a walk, in a shop and just really anywhere you want. It's calming and I love it.

This was amazing and I will definitely be buying it (when I get money ahha).
