A good read for anyone in medicine
Though Iâm headlong in a fulfilling career as a public relations practitioner, I read this book on my morning train commute. Transparency dictates that I inform you Peter has been a friend for many years, and he asked me to read his book and provide a review. With that, understand I mean every word: this book, to me, represents âhow toâ literature at its best. But rather than teach you how to pursue and perfect a particular hobby or academic endeavor, Sims, in an approachable and âyou-can-do-itâ manner, provides a clear path to establishing and maintaining a career in home health care PT. One of the endearing aspects of the book is that Sims is open with his own career missteps so that the reader doesnât make the same mistakes. As such, Sims is successful in welcoming the reader to relax and sit back as though he was giving a tour of his hometown to an old friend. Simsâ love for his job and his patients is admirable and authentic as the pages turn, and over the course of the book you begin to feel like he is actually pulling for you, the reader. While I certainly recommend the book to those considering a career in HHPT, I think a variety of medical pros should read it for an understanding of what is possible when you combine sincerity, empathy, and professionalism with persistence.
Highly recommended for PT's and PT students. This book is full of knowledge
As a PT who has done Home Health and married to a PT who is still doing home health, I can say that this book is a wonderful resource. Full of knowledge that would take you weeks to try and get all together yourself.
The book is well written and easy to follow. I will be keeping it for myself and recommending it to all the PT Interns that I work with.
If you are a PT student or a practicing PT looking into home health as a job this is perfect for you. Even if you are a PT that has been working in home health for years you will find something that you did not know before.
Highly recommended, well done
Highly recommended
This was an impressive book for any PT student or practicing PT who would like to work in home health. The book was thorough, well written and a fast read. I appreciated the way that it was broken into small lessons, so that someone could either read it cover to cover, or pick and choose the areas of greatest importance.
