This is B-movie horror for your ears. Not bad for what it is. A lot wild pigs led by one freakishly smart, big, mean pig terrorizing a small rural town in the middle of nowhere. Tuskers was entertaining and I'll listen to the sequel.

This short story was a little confusing. Maybe if it had been longer and the characters more developed it would have had more clarity. I understood who all the characters were except one, and why he was chosen to try to change the future by sending messages to the past. If there is a follow-up book I'll be tempted to get it so I can catch a grip on what is happening and why.

Great Audiobook

What made the experience of listening to Under the Amoral Bridge the most enjoyable?

Set in a future Los Angeles after the government has abandoned it's role in governing the city, a major corporation is in charge. Ballard takes us on a ride through the corruption and societal decay, as the main character fights to stay alive after unfortunate circumstances place him in the dangerous unknown assailants. You may not be able to put down the audiobook until it's finished.

What does Joe Hempel bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Joe Hempel have done a great job

Loved it!

Artimis Bridge is the guy who always "knows a guy" that has whatever you need. For the right price, he will be your Bridge and connect you to him.

Artimis loves that he can do this without ever actually crossing the line into anything illegal.

But suddenly one day he finds himself in the middle of just the kind of mess he thought he could avoid. The kind that gets you killed.

This is the story of how he works to get himself out of it.

The catagory this book falls under is called cyberpunk. I have no idea what that means but if there is more like this , I know I'd like to read it.

Joe Hempel does a great job as the uber charming, quick on his feet Artimis Bridge .

Terrific, especially for a first published effort.

Kept me engaged and caring about the characters. I am quite dubious about the genetic "science", which made it hard for me to sit on my suspension of disbelief. And this is not for delicate souls, quite grim. But a story of redemption, nevertheless. Quite enjoyed the reader as well.

I had no idea, besides the synopsis . I liked the cover are an the premise sounded interesting . I know what some might say shapeshifter been there . You would at least in my mildly humble oppion be missing out . The hole trace of this book from beginning to end was very interesting imaginative and well done . I'm a sci-Fi fantasy junkie . So my imagination is my key to open the metaphorical door to the worlds created by talented people not only in litterly but visually and so on . By I digress, I hope the best too Pat Flewwelling I enjoyed this book and hope you have plans too follow up . Like life every story has and end , I feel there a lot more to this story . Also the narrator did a great job with the snarky smart Assry , feels good to talk crap to friend or enemy alike ...

Great Book

I really liked this book I thought it was very interesting book to listen to, I've listen to this book on audible and read it in my Kindle. not realizing I already had this book, I have so many books I forget what I have good book though very interesting

I received this book for an honest review.

I just couldn't get into this book.

I tried, I really did. Especially when I am provided a book free for review I feel as though I owe it to the author to listen to it in entirety.

But, I just couldn't finish. The story jumps around and I found my mind wandering while I was listening (instead of being lost in the book I was thinking of stuff like - darn I better add dish detergent to my shopping list). That's not what I am looking for in a book. I want to forget about my grocery list!

So I personally do not recommend. Maybe it was me. This is the first book I have ever listened to by this author. Even some of the most incredible authors put out a dud once in awhile. Maybe with this author I started out with one. So - while I wont recommend this book I will also not write the author off yet.

Darkness Falls

I liked this story but didn't love it.It seemed repetitive and did not keep my interest.A boy ,separated from his family's the only one who can save humanity.Everyone else is in a trance or asleep.Dan McGowan is a good narrator.I was provided this book by the author,narrator or publisher for review.

Not an easy book to follow...

I'm going to echo a few other reviews and simply say that like others, I feel like I owe the author a good and fair shot at listening to the book fully and writing an honest review. But in this case, I couldn't keep up with the story and didn't really find anything engaging within the first hour. It is very choppy and bounces from one thing to the next in seemingly unending randomness. It's hard to follow, hard to remember what just happened, and I found myself having to rewind because many parts didn't really make sense from a chronological perspective. I love books and I love reading/listening to them. Many different genres as well. Just couldn't keep this one going.

Not too shabby

What made the experience of listening to Battle of the New Orleans the most enjoyable?

The narration was good. As was the story. Not the best I have ever read, but still pretty good. The whole alien abduction thing isn't original, but the author managed to twist it into pretty unique story. I wouldn't think it would be up for a galaxy award, but I still eagerly look forward to the next installment. I am hoping that Mr. Musser can keep the momentum going, and not peter out a book or two into the series.

Worst narration I ever heard......

Terrible narration.......like a 5th grader reading a homework assignment. Riddled with errors, and repeated phrases....didn't anyone proofread this thing. I only finished it as a challenge to my tolerance levels and see how much monotone I could endure........

I truly enjoyed listening to this story. The plot was was well thought out.

Not have left off where he did. Gave it some kind of closure.

Not made the characters seem so stupid. A lot of unintelligent people were in this story.

One plot with four sub-plots that converge.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was interesting. I doubt I will listen to it again because of the poor quality of the narration, but the story was worth the time. Unlike the last book I listened to, I don't regret the time I took to listen to this one.

Would you be willing to try another one of Christopher James Youngs performances?

Mr Young's narration was poor in that I honestly think I could have done a better job. The quality of the editing was extremely poor in that there were several places where audio was spliced in that sounded like it had been recorded on an old fashioned tape recorder years ago. It happened so often I began to wonder if this was done on purpose, but I couldn't find a common thread that would have tied them all together. I will end up listening to at least one more book that Mr. Young narrates, though, because I want to find out what happens to all of the characters who finally came together in that last hour of the book.

Was In the End worth the listening time?

This just seems to be a rephrasing of the first question so I will say that it was worth the five-and-a-half hours it took to listen to the book.

I only gave the story three stars because I thought the writing was pretty simplistic. It sounded like a long version of something I might have written for a high school English composition. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just means that I expect writers to do a better job than I could.

As I said in my headline, there is one big plot (the nuking of Denver, CO) and four sub-plots that don't converge until the last 20% of the book. Once everyone comes together, though, they all work together to survive.

This is the first book in the series.
