Game 1 wasn’t the episode we wanted, but every team has a tough game and there’s no team better at responding to tough games than the Mets. Kodai Senga struggled early, the bats never truly woke up but Game 2 is a new day and the Mets are still in the perfect spot to head back to Citi Field with a split series on the back of Sean Manaea, who has stepped up as the Mets ace this year.
