At the end of this episode, I tell a story that provides an example of when a diabetic needs a high sugar consumable product.
I did my best to remember all the details as this was many years ago. I also recorded this at a later time than the
rest of the episode, so the audio quality is different.

I'm doing something new for this episode.
I've seen some videos (some a few years old and some more recent) discussing why setting Specific Measurable Accountable Realistic Time based(measured) goals are not efficient.
This episode focuses on the Time based aspect of SMART goals. I explain the two primary arguments against setting an 'expiration date' on a goal.
I'm also going to detail my rebuttal to the two arguments. Finally, there's a bonus section not related to the 'time based' principle of SMART goals but that is extremely important.

In this episode (Part 3 Act 1), we're focusing on treatment for type 1 diabetes. We're splitting Part 3 up into two episodes.
Similar to what was done in Part 2 (Potential Causes Of Diabetes).
The next episode (Act II) will focus on treatments for type 2 and gestational diabetes.
The trailer for 'Distance To Empty' is now on Kickstarter. Our goal is to raise money for the production of the feature length film.
Please check out the trailer, and donate if you have the means.

My original plan was to make this series on diabetes three parts.
However, part two (potential causes of diabetes) involved a lot research and editing.
In an effort to keep some consistency to the release of the episodes, I'm splitting part two into two 'acts'.
This is 'act 2' covering type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes.
I do need to add a couple of disclaimers.
1. Don't consider any information in this episode as a substitute for professional medical advice. Taking responsibility for your health includes consulting with professionals before taking any actions that may cause serious harm.
2. The resources I used for this episode goes in depth over the potential causes of type 2 and gestational diabetes. My goal was to convey it in a manner that someone that's not privy to this knowledge would understand. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions. Contact information is below.

In this episode, we break up the clips from episode one into sections. After each section is played, we discuss it.
Notes:
I mention the great book The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck by Mark Manson. I highly recommend checking it out.
Right after the second clip plays at around 12min 10 secs a previous episode of the podcast is referenced. However, the
title of the episode wasn't provided. The title is 'Goal In Mind.'
Around the 26 min 10 sec mark, I mention that it's easy to go back to bad habits. An episode was referenced, but wasn't
sure of the title. The title of the episode is 'Resist The Urge.'

This is part 1 of a 3 part series covering the topic of diabetes.
In this episode, we start with a lesson on how our bodies use hormones ( focus on insulin and glucagon) to help regulate blood sugar.
Next, we explain what is diabetes. We also go over the different types of diabetes.
Additionally, we briefly cover some causes and risk factors that increase one's susceptibility to developing diabetes. However, we go into more detail on this in part 2 (coming soon).
Part 3 goes into treatment options for people with diabetes.
Roughly halfway through the episode my on again off again co host (my newborn son) joins in the conversation. He has some very insightful things to add. ;-)

This episode starts with a roughly 80 second clip from the first episode of this podcast. Which was released close to 11 months ago. My how time flies.
Once the clip is finished, I then go into more detail about it. Subsequent episodes will have clips from the remainder of episode 1 and other episodes.
I'm doing this because I've been asked to delve more into the personal development/growth portions of the episodes.

Tutorial Time!!!!!
Are you getting a little or horrible reverberation in your recordings?
We discuss what may be contributing to it, and how to reduce and maybe eliminate it.
The video companion for this is available on my social media (Instagram and LinkedIn... info below).
Providing an added benefit to the podcasts fans first by going over a brief history of the HowardsBlend Podcast, and how I tried various techniques to get rid of reverberation.
