Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown says she is satisfied with the Eskom's board re-evaluation process for the return of CEO Brian Molefe to the power utility. When Molefe stepped down from Eskom after the release of the Public Protector's "State of Capture' report, he said that quitting was not an admission of wrongdoing but was in the best interests of Eskom and good corporate governance. Brown says she was informed by the board of this decision after she rejected a pension pay-out of 30 million rand for him after his removal. She believes Eskom will benefit from the return of Molefe for the two and half years remaining on his contract.
