It used to be that technology was brought into a company to solve its business problems. Then, at some point, technology became about speed and assets rather than support.  When did this change happen, and how can you stay focused when ensuring your tech is serving a greater purpose?

After creating quite a stir with our first “Tales from Around the World: South Africa" episode, we’re back with a part two to expand upon some of the stories, questions and opinions you shared with us on social media. Also returning is our guest Richard Bauer, an engineer from Cape Town, who updates us on the country's current situation regarding business, technology and life in general.

Every technical person has a scrap pile. It may be kept in a box in the basement, or it may be a storage closet at your place of business. Wherever it is, it keeps your company running. However, sometimes this scrap pile can get out of date and needs to be managed so the right parts are available in emergencies.
