Following World War II it seemed as if most of the world immediately forgot about what the Nazis had done and moved on to other problems. Fortunately, there was a group of people who dedicated their lives to pursuing and prosecuting the men responsible for over 17 million murders. In this episode of HPH, we're taking a look at some of the more infamous douchebag Nazis and how they were hunted and caught by these real life heroes. Grab a drink and settle in for this episode of Hundred Proof History titled Nazi Hunters: Ich Bin Argentinian!
Quick question: What is the quickest way to sail from Russia to China? If you said that it makes complete and total sense to sail west around England, down the coast and around the southern tip of Africa, and then sail east toward China, then you have what it takes to be an Admiral in the 1905 Battle of Tsushima. You probably couldn't do much worse than the guys who actually did this. They fired upon their own ships, almost started wars with neutral countries, got bitten by snakes and alligators, and then got demolished in battle. Come hang out with a very drunk Greg and Chris and find out how it all went down in this Hundred Proof Hangover.

Benny Binion is probably a name that you are not aware of. His story doesn't get a lot of play in either the History or True Crime circles but take it from us, it's a crazy ride. Gambling, prostitution, murder, tax evasion...it really does have something for everyone. Well, unless you like believing in the justice system and expect murders to be punished for their crimes instead of becoming beloved figures....then you might want to avoid this one. Unless you like being outraged...then come on back in. Grab a drink, sit back, and enjoy Mr. Binion's wild ride in this episode of Hundred Proof History entitled Benny Binion: Poker in the Front, MURDER in the Rear!
In this Hangover, Greg and Chris are taking a dive into sports history with a look at the first Olympic Marathon held on United States soil. And it was a complete and total disaster. It featured a ridiculous course full of horses and cars, a racer flat out cheating, another racer sorta cheating but it's okay because it involved old timey medicine, and a guy running in dress shoes and cut off shorts. Join Greg and Chris in the recovery lounge as they look at the marathon that should have ruined all other marathons for you!

Last time on HPH, Greg and Chris told you all about the Easter Rising of 1916 in which a group of Irish rebels took and held the city of Dublin in an effort to gain independence from the English. Today we're continuing down that road by talking about the life and times of the Irish hero, Michael Collins. We'll take a look at his rise to power, his use of hit squads, the ridiculously poor English response, and of course his rivalry with the big ole math nerd Eamon De Valera. Grab a drink and enjoy this episode of Hundred Proof History entitled Michael Collins: They Call Me the Big Fellow.
In this Hundred Proof Hangover mini-episode we're mixing things up a bit. Instead of telling you all about horrible people and the horrible things they do, we're taking a good look at America's contribution to the alcohol world: Bourbon. Greg and Chris will tell you about what makes bourbon different and the storied history behind this delicious adult beverage. Screw the water and the recovery lounge, grab a bottle of your favorite straight bourbon and join us as we continue our path to debauchery!

When was the last time you verified your college professor's educational background or asked to see your surgeon's medical credentials? If the answer is never, then I have scary news for you: You might have been operated on by historical con-man Ferdinand "Fred" Demara! (Gimme some Halloween noises, Wolf Dick!) I mean it's highly unlikely since he died in 1982 but it was also highly unlikely that this high school dropout would fake his way into so many jobs and positions of power. Hook up your saline solution IV's and join us in the recovery ward as we tell you all about Fred.

On Easter Monday, April 24, 1916, a group of Irish poets, teachers, and political activists decided it was high time to take control of Ireland from the English and give it to the Irish people. There were a few problems with their plan such as a complete lack of military training or knowledge, a disagreement within the leadership that would severely limit their manpower, and the fact that the majority of the public didn't really give a crap about rebellion in the first place. Still, this 6 day revolution would lead to massive changes and uprising in Ireland so we'll give credit where credit is due...even if it was a massive clusterfuck. Grab your favorite Irish Whisky and your box of Lucky Charms and join us on a journey to early 20th century Dublin in this episode of Hundred Proof History entitled Easter Rising...Will Someone Take This Seriously Please?
In this week's Hundred Proof Hangover, Greg and Chris are telling you all about the man who refused to stop fighting Germans no matter how hard the sweet, sweet lord tried to deter him. It's a story from WWII that you probably haven't heard. We can say that because we had never heard it and we are basically supercomputers fueled by distilled beverages. Big thanks to superfan, Chris Bird for recommending this one! Grab a chair, pull up to our towering mainframe and listen to our servos whir as we try and figure out this thing called human emotion.
