After Hurricane Ida pummeled the gulf coast of Louisiana, it tracked north east across the United States until it passed over the mid-atlantic and northeastern states. It caused record rainfall in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York bringing life threatening flash-flooding to areas ill-prepared for the sudden inundation.
