  • Finding Your Happy Place

Today we find your happy place with a simple and peaceful guided meditation.  Guided meditations are an audio experience led by a teacher.  I find guided meditations very relaxing.  They work because the mind wants to be entertained.  Having a guided meditation where your mind gets to play with imagery could help you stay in a state of concentration longer.

  • No Time To Meditate

Meditation for the human soul is like plugging in your smart phone.  You have to charge it to be able to use it.  If want improved physical health, inner peace and to groove in a creative flow state, well, you need to charge your soul battery with meditation.

Today's meditation is matching your inhales and exhales with the waves of the ocean.  You will love the simplicity and the deep state of meditation you will experience.  This exercise simulates the Vagus Nerve  in your body.  The Vagus Nerve is responsible for the regulation of internal organ functions, such as digestion, heart rate, and respiratory rate.   Get ready for these mental and physical health benefits as we prepare to Hurry Up And Meditate.

You are in the right place at the right time.  Welcome.

  • Keeping Commitments

One way to cultivate our meditation practice is to use PRATYAHARA, a withdraw of the senses.  In this meditation, we will eliminate two of our senses to heighten our practice, 1) closing our eyes and 2) numbing our hearing with the white noise from a fan.

During this meditation, if your thoughts begin to intrude, simply come back to your breath and the sound of the fan.  It's time to Hurry Up And Meditate.

  • Business Is Helping Others

Dale Carnegie said, "“You can close more business in 2 months by being interested in other people than you can in 2 years by getting people to be interested in you.”

At the end of the day, you are in business to help others have a better quality of life.  Make the connection between the features and amenities vs value and benefits of your product/service, and you'll be speaking the language of the customer.

  • Show Announcement

Hello listeners.  Cate here with a quick update about the show.

First I want to thank everyone for listening to the show and taking the time to Hurry Up And Meditate with me.  A special Thank you to who sent me feedback about the format, specifically that the actual meditation practice time is a bit too short;  You’re just starting to feel relaxed and it’s over.

    So,

In response to your feedback, I am increasing the length of the meditation practice time on the show.  You’ll still get all of the great quotes, affirmations, workday advice, journal assignments, meditation lessons that I assemble for you every week, AND the meditation practices will be a little bit longer so that you can get the most out of our time together.  All of this in less than 30 minutes.  You are in the right place at the right time.  Thank you for making yourself a priority and taking the time to Hurry Up And Meditate.

  • Sleepless Meditation (re-run)

Functioning on little or no sleep?  Here is your go-to sleepless meditation.  This episode is on-theme and full of good thoughts and advice for the day after your sleepless night.  Yoga Nidra, also known as Yogic Sleep, is a guided meditation that gives you the feeling of a 2 hour nap in less than 20 minutes.  This quality meditation is a good use of your time because you will feel rested, clear and energized afterward.  You are in the right place at the right time.  Welcome.

  • Boundaries

Your thoughts and feelings are separated from the wants and needs of others through boundaries.  In the workplace, you can check your boundaries by noticing if you are getting your own work done before helping others with their task list.  You cannot pour from an empty cup and you cannot succeed while you are drowning in your own work.

Gaining clarity through daily meditation can help you set boundaries at work and at home.  What you think, feel, want and need will be clear to you so that you know what to ask for and how to get it.

The lesson in this episode is a Body Scan Meditation.  At the end of this meditation, your body and mind will feel completely aligned and synchronized.

This is a great episode to share with kids!
