Hurry Up And Meditate episodes

  • ADHD Fidget Meditation

ADHD brains find meditation challenging at the very least.  It is so difficult to focus that many people with this neurodivergent condition give up on meditation all together.  In this episode of Hurry Up And Meditate, I have combined a physical focus tool, like a fidget toy, to assist my audience with their ability to stay present during meditation.

We also take the time to discuss the Pomodoro Method as a timed task management tool for folks with ADHD.  A written practice plus analysis questions included!

  • Leadership, Analysis and Transcendental Meditation

Good leaders perform an analysis well and often.  SWOT is an acronym that stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and it is an easy and effective way to evaluate most situations.  It helps leaders to obtain an objective view of a situation or a decision they are weighing.
Analyzing the benefit of meditation in your life is a bit more subtle.  I can tell you that you’ll start to feel a shift in your life after you have been regularly meditating for a few days.  After a few weeks, it will be undeniable.
The first change I began to feel when I started meditating was a mental clarity and an ease of decision-making throughout my day.  The sense of knowing exactly who I was and what I wanted came easier to me on days when I meditated.  I felt calmer and more confident.

  • Courage For New Ideas

The implementation of new ideas require courage.  Is there an idea that you have been toying with in secret?  You know, the idea that crosses your mind and your reaction is, Ooo wouldn’t it be cool if we could do this?  Yea, THAT idea.

This juicy courage episode will help you to give your courage an identity and then bring it with you into meditation.  Your idea plus your courage--this is what it means when people say, they are going to “meditate on something”.

  • H.A.L.T. Decision Guided Meditation

The H.A.L.T. Principle serves as a warning system.  We can backslide the progress we are making in our lives when these basic needs are not met. Fortunately, hunger, anger, loneliness, and tiredness can be identified and addressed.  No one is perfect, but we aim to quell these states before making decisions.

Click o this episode for some understanding and good advice on using the HALT Principle and a guided meditation that will put some space and breathing room between you and your next big decision.

Focus is a superpower!  What you focus on will grow and where you lose focus can shrink.  Tune in to this episode of Hurry Up And Meditate for the best quote, affirmation, journal assignment and workday advice in alignment with focus.

The meditation lesson is a candle gazing practice called Trataka.  Just a few of the many benefits of Trataka Meditation are improved memory, awareness and focus.  It is especially helpful to people who struggle with meditation but can be beneficial to meditators of all levels and for any amount of time.

  • Legacy Of Kindness

Some days, meditation will come easier than others.  It is common and you have to be kind to yourself.  If you are forcing yourself to meditate you must pause and examine why you are resisting.  Be kind and allow yourself to end your session if it is stressing you out.  You can always come back and try again—these words are an act of kindness and compassion towards yourself.

  • My Voice Matters Mantra Meditation

Your inner thoughts, inspirations, creativity become voiced opinions, work and habits that provide energy for the team to move the project forward.  Overall, your voice can be a key contribution to the quality of the outcome.

You can use your voice in meditation as well.  A mantra is a sound, word or phrase that is used as a tool to help concentrate your mind during meditation.  Many people find mantras helpful because whenever your thoughts start to wander, you can simply return to your mantra and you are quickly back on track with your meditation.  It’s like an anchor.  Let's try a mantra today as we hurry up and meditate!

  • Gap Style Meditation

I love teaching a Gap Style Meditation to people who are new to meditating.  This method will help you discover what it feels like to be in a meditative state.  Once you have experienced this meditative sensation, it becomes easier and easier to come back to it the next time you meditate.

I also love the Gap Style Meditation because it taught me an important lesson:  meditation is not about silencing all of your thoughts.  It’s learning how to find the space in between your thoughts and resting there.  Then, learning to expand the silence a little more every time.  Understanding this simple principle helped me so much and I want to do the same for you today.

This is a guided meditation using the first few words of the Serenity Prayer as a tool.  It's time to Hurry Up and Meditate!
