Twin brothers Stephen Levi Carter is CEO and partner and Dr. Sterling Carter is COO and partner. The business has twice won the Gold Stevie Award in the category of Minority Owned Business from The American Business Awards in 2017 and 2018. It also won the Gold Stevie Award in the category of Veteran Owned Business in 2018.

The business has been named to the Inc. 2017 5000 list for the second consecutive year. In addition to winning the 2018 Black Enterprise Family Business of the Year award and being a 2017 Black Enterprise Family Business of the Year Finalist, it won the Greater Houston Black Chamber’s 23rd Annual Pinnacle Award and the Greater Houston Better Business Bureau’s 2017 Pinnacle Award. It also won 2018 Greater Houston Better Business Bureau’s Awards for Excellence and 2018 Winner of Distinction Award.

The business and brothers have been featured in local to national media reaching millions. The brothers are slated to release a book through ForbesBooks – a publishing arm of the Forbes brand – this fall.

Our featured trailblazer is Janice Bryant Howroyd. She is a businesswoman, entrepreneur, educator, ambassador, author, mentor and Presidential Special Appointee.

Janice is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The ActOne Group, a global leader providing customized cutting edge solutions in the human resources industry.

She's currently listed at #54 in the Forbes 2018 list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women. In 2014, she was recognized by Black Enterprise as the first black woman to own and operate a billion-dollar company.

In May of 2016 Janice received a key Presidential appointment by President Barack Obama as a member of the President’s Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Janice has traveled to over fifty countries promoting education and the powerful impact it has on communities around the world. Her accomplishments, both personal and professional, are inspired by her deep faith and her love for her family. She says, “One cannot effectively lead without passionately serving."

Janice is a truly remarkable woman who started from the ground up, and is constantly learning and adapting to the world around her. But doing so while remaining true to self.

Chazz is the Founder of a 501(c)(3) non-profit called Positively Caviar, Inc. in the Baltimore Washington metropolitan area. His nonprofit focuses on empowering, inspiring, and motivating all human beings, with a special emphasis on youth, through the imperative mindset of positivity and optimism by way of digital media and self-empowerment workshops.
