For a long time, I was running from my pain, my purpose, and the truth. I used alcohol to cope, not realizing that it was silencing my voice and clouding my calling. But when I hit a breaking point, I had to make a choice: stay stuck in a cycle or fight my way out.
In this episode, I open up about my journey with drinking, how it led me to feel lost, and what it took for me to reclaim my voice and step into the purpose God has for me. I also talk about the many people living as functional addicts, battling demons in silence, and feeling trapped in a dark hole when the real answer is surrendering to God.
And before I go any further, I have to take a moment to shout out my man. Through one of the hardest times in my life, he never gave up on me. He stood by my side, even when I wasn't at my best, I am beyond grateful for his love, patience, and support.
If you have been avoiding something you know you need to do because it is hard, that might just be your calling. It is time to stop running and start walking in faith.
Tune in now and let’s talk about it. Drop a comment or send me a message. Let’s talk about something you know you need to do but have been putting off?
*Remember, my podcast is not scripted. I am in the projects, working on my projects, trying to make it out of the projects. This is a safe place where you feel free and open. What you hear is what you receive. We don’t hide who we are. We are real, we are living, and we are just being the humans that God called us to be. We are not always perfect, but we continue to strive for perfection.

Yet, despite these hardships, her profound love for God fuels her determination to keep moving forward. Maya believes wholeheartedly that great things are in store for her because of her unwavering faith.
What’s truly inspiring is that, even after everything she has endured, she has refused to give up. Life often presents us with trials, but Maya shows us that these experiences can ultimately bring us closer to God. Her story resonates deeply with many women, reflecting shared struggles and the strength that can arise from them.

Soon, she will launch her own podcast, where she aims to share her story and inspire others. Her passion for storytelling is evident, and I can’t wait for you to hear her insights.
One of the most courageous aspects of Maya’s journey is her willingness to discuss her diagnosis of HSV-2. I must admit, I never anticipated that someone would come onto my podcast and openly share something so personal. It takes immense strength to be vulnerable in a world where stigma often silences individuals. Maya’s honesty about her experience is not only brave, but it also sets a powerful example for others.
Many people fear judgment and feel ashamed about their circumstances, but Maya’s story is a reminder that there is strength in vulnerability. If you’re a woman who has faced similar challenges, I want you to know that you’re not alone. Embrace your journey and understand that there’s no shame in your experience.
Thank you for joining us today on "I Am Her, You Are Me." I hope this episode resonates with you and offers encouragement and inspiration. Maya’s story is one of hope and faith, and I’m grateful to share it with you. Enjoy the episode!

Welcome to Season 2 of our podcast! I’m thrilled to embark on this new season with an array of engaging episodes and a diverse lineup of guests who are sure to inspire and uplift. To kick things off, we’re starting with an exceptional guest: Tee from Delaware. Tee is the founder of "Dare to Declare," a business deeply influenced by the powerful scripture Colossians 3:2, which states, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Tee’s journey is a remarkable testament to the strength and courage required to step out of one’s comfort zone. Her story is not just about business success but about a profound personal transformation. Stepping out of her comfort zone was a significant and challenging move for Tee, but it was essential for her spiritual growth and alignment with her divine purpose. By moving beyond familiar and safe boundaries, Tee allowed herself to be guided by God’s plan, opening doors to new opportunities and deeper connections.
In this episode, I want to share a personal note: I was feeling quite under the weather during our conversation. This experience underscored a vital point—no matter what obstacles or discomforts we face, it’s crucial to stay committed to our purpose. Even when we’re not at our best or when circumstances aren’t ideal, perseverance is key. It’s about pushing through the discomfort and continuing to follow the path set before us.
Tee will delve into her journey of breaking free from her comfort zone, offering a detailed account of the challenges she faced and the steps she took to overcome them. She’ll share what motivated her to take such bold actions and how she found the courage to keep moving forward. Moreover, Tee will talk about the support system that played a pivotal role in her journey—those who encouraged and uplifted her when she needed it most.
One of the highlights of this episode will be Tee’s recounting of a specific moment when she took a significant leap of faith despite feeling uneasy. She’ll provide insight into the fears and doubts she confronted, the strategies she used to navigate them, and the ultimate rewards of stepping out of her comfort zone.
As you listen, you’ll gain valuable insights into how embracing discomfort and trusting in a greater plan can lead to personal and spiritual growth. Tee’s experiences offer a powerful reminder that even when we face difficulties, stepping out and following our purpose can lead to incredible transformations.
So, join us for this compelling episode as we explore Tee’s inspiring journey, learn from her experiences, and discover how you too can embrace your own path with courage and faith.
[Just a heads-up: my podcast is unscripted, so you might hear some background noise as I record from the Westside of Fresno, a neighborhood often referred to as "the projects," while working on my own projects. I hope you understand the setting and enjoy the authenticity.
I’m here to connect with you on a personal level and be my true self. No matter where you are in life right now, remember that you can keep pursuing your dreams. Don’t let your current situation dictate your future. Instead, use any challenges you face as opportunities to grow. Stay focused on your goals and believe that there’s nothing you can’t achieve.]

How can you stay focused when your current season is not seasoning?
Knowing that it will all come to pass and having faith knowing that it will work out for your good. You just must remember your “REASON “THE WHY” (Take a look at all the other seasons you had to endure to become fully seasoned back during that season you thought it was over. You WERE probably FEELING AND TELLING YOURSELF that you were not going to make it out. Now let’s fast forward pass that old season you got through it and literally came out whole flavorful. When you thought, you were going to come out broken. I say that to say “Be thankful, because that is your testimony you made it not knowing if you were even going to make it. However, because you are an individual that deserves to be full of flavor. You walked out of that past season full of new seasonings to help you get this current season. With that all being said. “Now I want you to USE THAT AS A KICK START. SMILPLY TO REMIND YOURSELF. “HEY, YOU DID IT BEFORE. SO, YOU DO JUST THE SAME THIS SEASON THE ONLY DIFFERENCE HERE IS THAT YOU ARE GOING TO UTILIZE WHAT YOU ALREADY KNOW, LEARNED AND DISCOVER FROM BEFORE (IN SO MANY WORDS YOU ARE GOING TO UTILIZE WHAT YOU ARE SEASONED UP WITH FROM THE PAST SEASON) AND COME UP WITH A PLAN TO WALK OUT IN FULL VICTORY)

I AM HER, YOU ARE ME
Together As One We Can Be
HOW IT STARTED
I started I Am Her, You Are Me…
I was fighting personal battles, experiencing pain, and trying to find the strength to keep moving forward. I did not start this podcast because I had everything figured out. I started it because I needed a safe place to:
• Be honest
• Use my voice
• Share my experiences
• Connect with other women
• Begin my healing journey
THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME
When you sit down and truly listen to another woman’s story, you may discover:
• Her pain looks like your pain
• Her struggle sounds like your struggle
• Her testimony gives you hope
• Her healing encourages your healing
• Her story reminds you that you are not alone
That is the meaning behind I Am Her, You Are Me.
Too often, women remain silent because we are afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or exposed. Instead of opening up and helping each other, we sometimes compete, compare, or tear one another down.
But over here, we do not compete. We come together.
I want to win, and I want to see you win too.
Together As One We Can Be.
