  • The Law, Grace & Mercy

We Want To Hear From YOU!

    Matthew 5:17-20

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

     MESSAGE FROM PAUL Galatians 1:3-10

3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently, some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

Paul said he received the gospel by revelation from Jesus Christ, he spent time with Jesus and in the Word of God

Father God in the name of your son Jesus my prayer is that everyone under the sound of my voice receives your Gospel through a revelational experience with you as they commit to spending time in your presence and in Your Word.  Let no one allow their faith in you to rest solely on what comes through any man.  Your word tells us to study to show thy selves approved.  Let everyone under the sound of my voice develop a desire in their heart to show themselves before you as approved.  We give you glory and honor Amen.

  • Don't Get Comfortable

We Want To Hear From YOU!

When God shows up and answers our prayer, we should be prompted to shift our lifestyle so that we do not repeatedly fall into the same situations.  However, what we tend to do once  our prayers are answered we get comfortable and go back to business as usual

  • The Rules of The Game

We Want To Hear From YOU!

The game of life begins in our mother’s womb.  And our genes help to shape and mold us into the pieces we become on the board game of life.  A gene is the basic physical and or functional unit of heredity shared through a common ancestor.

For example, if both of your parents have green eyes, you might inherit the trait for green eyes from them. Or if your mom has freckles, you might have freckles too because you inherited the trait for freckles.

Before we learn our names or how to speak there are some things that are inherently imposed on our game boards, but it's up to us to learn the rules of how to utilize the pieces given us, to play in this game called life, according to the mandate of God

All my life I was told I look just like my dad.  I remember as a kid I didn’t think of that as being flattering at all.  After all, my thought was I am a girl, he is a man.  I didn’t understand the reference being made referring more to the likeness of my dad’s physical image than identical characteristics.

Genes are incredible not only can they shape our physical appearance, they can dictate our characteristics as well.  I am one who has always  been impatient, wanting everything now.  I had a family that blamed that on me being an only child and being spoiled, but what I realized is that was a characteristic of my dad’s as well.  And he wasn’t impatient because of being spoiled, he was likely more impatient because of growing up rough and often without the things we take for granted.

I didn’t inherit much of my mother’s physical appearance but I certainly inherited some of her characteristics.  Busyness being one.  My mom had to always be doing something.  If she was just sitting watching TV, she had to be hemming some pants, fixing my hair, or organizing some papers, she just couldn’t sit idle.  And I catch myself doing the same thing.

Regardless of who you came into this world looking like, regardless of whose characteristics you have genetically inherited, God wants us to make intentional efforts to allow His image to be what drives, moves and directs us.  In Genesis 1:26, scriptures tell us that God created us in image and likeness.

Yes our tendency may be to act according to our genetic influence, but just know because we were shaped and molded in the image and likeness of God by God in us we store all that pleases him.  We just have to be intentional about letting the godliness that dwells in us prevail.

Impatience was a characteristic of my dad’s that was a struggle and a blessing because of how he used it.  From the outside looking in, my dad's lack of patience made him sometimes come off as cold, or disruptive.

However, at the same time his lack of patience made him one who was very respectful of time, and one you could certainly count on being where he said he would be at the time he said he would be.

  • Imagination: What A Wonderful Gift

We Want To Hear From YOU!

Imagination, what a beautiful ability God has gifted our minds with.  Think about it every invention, every business idea, every self-made millionaire, and every impactful charity, or ministry all started with the imagination of someone.

Ultimately, imagination influences everything we do regardless of our profession or level of education. Imagination is the key to innovation, it is the key to our successes and the lack of imagination is oftentimes the reason for our failures.

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” It is faith that calls us to imagine.

  • Joy In July

We Want To Hear From YOU!

Did you know there is no explicit difference between happiness and joy?

Both involve emotions, both are pleasurable feelings, and both are mentioned in Scripture in passages that equate the two.

A dictionary definition of happiness is “a state of well-being; a pleasurable or satisfying experience.” And the  definition of the word joy is “to feel great delight; to be glad.”

Now depending on the translation, the Bible uses the words happy and happiness about 30 times, while joy and rejoice to appear over 300 times.

Jeremiah 31:13 says, “I will turn their mourning into gladness; / I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.”

Here, the words gladness and joy are used synonymously.

And Proverbs 23:25 says, “Let your father and your mother be glad,  And let her rejoice who gave birth to you.”

Being glad is the same thing as rejoicing in this verse, showing us that joy and happiness are linked.

The common belief among some believers is that there is a difference between joy and happiness. Some choose to believe that  Happiness is worldly, but joy is divine.

You know, sometimes we as believers want to be more intense than God and deeper than Jesus, according to scripture there is no such distinction made between happiness and joy.  If a person is joyful, then he or she is happy. We cannot drain the joy of emotion and still call it “joy.”

Yes, the spirit of God gives us joy, so Christians should be cheerful people, joyful; happiness should characterize our everyday lives.

James 1:2 says, “Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials.” Christians, believers, and those who believe and trust God can be happy, even in the midst of difficulties, because we know “the testing of our faith produces endurance.

Joy is sometimes also presented as “true” contentment based on faith. Happiness, in contrast, is often thought of as a “false” or “superficial” emotion dependent on circumstances. This too is a false dichotomy. There is nothing in the Bible that suggests we separate joy from happiness. The two are equal.  So go ahead be happy! It's God approved.

  • Why Jesus

We Want To Hear From YOU!

This morning I want to help some of you who may be struggling with understanding the importance of Jesus and also help others be able to better explain who Jesus was and why it is so important that our faith rest in Him.

John 1: contains two of the most important verses in the Bible, as these verses give insight into the depth of God’s love for us, access to salvation, and the core of the strength of our faith.

  • ICE: God is calling us to put our lives on ice

We Want To Hear From YOU!

I want to tell you this morning that God is calling us to put our lives on ICE for the sake of His Kingdom.  I am talking about integrity, commitment, and execution.  All three of these characteristics hinge on the element of truth and how one handles and prioritizes truth in their life.

ICE is often times used as a preservative, keeping things from spoiling in the heat.  And if truth be told, we live in a culture, where it's getting pretty hot. Hot with things that violate the mandate and the principles of God, and if we are not willing to put lives on ICE, we will become spoiled, tainted, and compromised by the heat.

See the heat I am talking about is the heat that comes from complacency with sin, the heat that causes us to discount the truth and authenticity of the Bible, the heat that causes us to proclaim to be children of God, the heat I am talking about creates a boiling over of greed, jealousy, covetousness, and addictions.

The heat I am talking about keeps selfishness, anger, hatred, jealousy, racism, and sexism simmering.

To be spoiled by these heat-generating behaviors, actions, and reactions, distance us from God and will disqualify us from entering the Kingdom of God.

If you understand and see this heatwave, you then understand its time to prepare ourselves to put our lives on ICE for the glory of God, so that we are preserved and the temperature rises all around us.

  • What Road Are You On?

We Want To Hear From YOU!

A Damascus Road experience can be different for each of us it is a point where God gets "real" with you and His truth shines so bright in your face like it did Paul that you can’t ignore.

It may be like the young man Casey in the story, God may have to sit you down and get you off to yourself.

The truth is we don’t have to wait for a Damascus Road experience, truth is we don’t know what price we may have to pay to get there.  We can just be honest with ourselves and God and pray this prayer.

Lord, I have sinned against you, even been comfortable with sin.  But Lord I come before you today, committed to living my life according to your Will and your way.  Lord, I ask that you protect me and direct me as I seek to give you glory, with a heart that has been transformed by my sincere desire to please you Amen

Then I suggest you commit to studying the Word of God, pick up your Bible, and don’t start in Genesis, begin with the book of John.

I say start with John because John wrote his Gospel to convince us that Jesus is exactly who He says He is—the Son of God, the promised Rescuer to whom the whole Bible points. The Holy Spirit inspired John to write this book in a way that would lead us to believe in Jesus. John’s ultimate goal is that we would come to know Jesus personally and be reconciled to God through Jesus, that we would experience the life that is truly life.

Hopefully, you can see why this book would be a fantastic place to begin your Bible reading.

Whatever road you are on, whether you are a believer needing to renew your faith and commitment, or whether you never have accepted Christ as your savior,  you can have your Damascus Road experience today.

  • A Godly Sermon w/o Scripture

We Want To Hear From YOU!

This morning's message title is: "A SERMON WITHOUT SCRIPTURE

Your initial response may be, "I am not about to listen to a sermon without scripture".

Well, sometimes we have to just go back to the basics.  And the basics of Christianity involve learning, understanding, and being able to teach others about the validity of the Bible.

Real truth can always be validated through various sources and that is what is explored in this message today.   Today's message shares historical, archaeological, and spiritual truths that validate the Bible as being the true Word of God.

As believers, we are charged to spread the Gospel, however, we have to be able to discuss the validity of the Bible in order to spread the Gospel with clarity and boldness.

In the society in which we live, there are many who doubt the validity of the Bible, and we have to prepare ourselves to minister to doubters and those who believe God does exist, but use other books to support their doctrine.  Then as we commit to the basics, have you taught your children and equipped your grandchildren to answer the questions concerning doubt for themselves?

Do you know and can effectively explain to another,

    1.  Why is there an Old and New Testament?

    2.  What about the doctrine in the Holy Bible supersedes all other doctrines?

    3.  How we can be sure we have the Bible in its entirety?

    4.  Why we can proclaim it as the inerrant Word of God?

The ultimate goal of this message is to equip believers and to ignite a longing in every listener to study the Bible for themselves, and acknowledge it as a life manual, for The Word of God is all we have that has the ability to truly anchor our souls.

Bible Deliverance is committed to teaching Bible through and through.  We invite you to listen and embrace deliverance that can only come through the Words of God outlined in the Bible.

  • Your Reality Show

We Want To Hear From YOU!

Why do we allow ourselves to be entertained by what is displeasing to God allowing seeds to be planted that disrupt God’s plans for our lives?

What we look to entertain us is in turn entertaining Satan. Imagine the real reality show he gets to enjoy at our expense.

Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.

This morning I would like to encourage you to be more conscientious of the company you keep, and what you allow to enter the gateways to your heart and mind through what you watch and heart.  Let your true reality not be what entertains Satan and displeases God.

In closing, I would like to read:

    James 3:17-18

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
