  • Nick Newell And NOTORIOUS NICK, IN THEATERS AUGUST 6TH
Nick Newell will have his life story told in a new film due out on Aug. 6 with former "Teen Wolf" star Cody Christian playing the Bellator veteran and former World Series of Fighting title contender.

"Notorious Nick" stars Christian alongside Barry Livingston, Kevin Pollack and Elisabeth Rohm in a film that will document Newell's rise up from the wrestling room until eventually becoming a mixed martial artist after he was born with congenital amputation on his left arm.

The new trailer just released on Tuesday gives a look at what to expect in the upcoming film with Newell taking center stage in the dramatization about his real life.

Here's the synopsis for "Notorious Nick," which will be released by Lionsgate:

"Even though he was born with a partial left arm, Nick Newell (Cody Christian) dreams of being a fighter. After wrestling in high school, Nick becomes a fierce competitor when his best friend, Abi, introduces him to mixed martial arts. Suddenly, a tragedy provides Nick with an unexpected opportunity, but to succeed he must commit to becoming the fighter he always hoped to be. Elisabeth Röhm (American Hustle) and Kevin Pollak (The Usual Suspects) also star in this thrilling underdog tale based on an inspiring true story." The film will be released on demand starting on Aug. 6 with DVD release following on Aug. 17.

"I just hope that it's something that people can relate to," Newell told MMA Fighting in 2016 about the film. "I know that might not make sense, but if you really look deep into it - me, I've never made a big deal out of having one hand. It's never been, like, 'look at me, I have one hand. Look at me, I'm doing this. I'm going to show this and prove this.' I'm a human and I have my difficulties or flaws, if you want to call it that. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but you know, I have my problems. But everyone has problems and everyone has obstacles that they face.

"I'm talking about any dream that you have. There's always something that makes it more difficult for you than others to do things, and there's a lot of people who are in situations similar to me. Maybe they have different goals, but they're facing challenges and you can't always see them. So I feel like it's going to be something that a lot of people can relate to. I look at myself as being a normal person and just an everyday guy, who, there was nothing special about me. I just had a dream to be the best at what I loved, to be the best version of myself and see how far it could go. And it went pretty far."

  • Music Artist - Jameson Burt
Jameson Burt is a singer-songwriter whose built a reputation for capturing special moments in time, holding the attention of the listener with nothing more than his voice and a guitar. Whether in a club or an entire stadium, Jameson has that special gift as an artist to connect and communicate his songs in a universal way, without limitation of genre. He’s done just that as a support act for Rival Sons, Eddie Vedder, Glen Hansard, and most notably the Italian rock legend Vasco Rossi on a stadium tour of Italy in summer 2019, playing for crowds of 60,000 per night. Jameson’s catalogue of passionate, heartfelt & innovative songs landed him a publishing deal with BMG Berlin in 2015 and since then has maintained a steady stream of creative output and toured extensively in Europe and the U.K.

Jameson recorded his first full-length solo album at the landmark Henson Studios in Los Angeles (formerly A&M). He has performed his music on tour across the US and Europe, and his songs have been featured in advertisements for Moschino and the NHL, and in films in the US and Italy.
Jameson draws musical inspiration from a broad range of influences - Van Morrison and Tom Waits, Al Green and Prince, Peter Gabriel and Radiohead. His range is apparent on his 2019 album Tropics: an emotive & unique blend of alt-pop, funk, & art rock. In the isolation of the last year Jameson maintained a prolific creative output, releasing three EPs and four singles, and appearing weekly for live-stream performances on Instagram.

His upcoming full-length album, “Right Time” - out now! - is the most revealing and intimate work of Jameson’s career. It’s dark, rich & romantic atmosphere is a backdrop for the story of the past year of his life: true love, true loss, and in the end, hope for the future. “Right Time” is a delicate blend of R&B groove, lush folk-rock texture, and pop melody: the work of a powerful singer-songwriter at his best & most vulnerable.

Jameson and his band will appear at The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa for their first live performance in over a year. A hometown album-release show & formal masquerade- themed party to celebrate the release of “Right Time.” Supporting acts & longtime friends Steve Carson & Doll Knight will share the stage.

  • Japanese American Pop artist Mikara
Japanese American Pop artist Mikara creates music that makes you want to move while simultaneously tugging at your heart strings. Her honey coated vocals dance around electronic pop beats while pouring her heart out over lyrics straight from the soul.
Mikara’s passion for music and songwriting started at a young age. As a child, her father K-Doh would sing and play guitar to get the kids to fall asleep. While this method worked on her older siblings, it had the opposite effect on her, as she’d stay up singing and dancing all night long. By the age of 6 she was performing in front of crowds, with her dad backing her on guitar and she continues to perform out with him today with his band K-Doh & The Doh-Nutz!
Earlier this year Mikara won celebrity voice coach Cari Cole’s Best New Artist Contest and received a scholarship for The Ride with multi-award-winning songwriter and vocal coach Wendy Parr. Mikara released her first single, “you’re gonna miss me” in May which landed her on the Spotify Editorial Playlist “New Music Friday Philippines.” She’s very excited to announce her debut EP which will be dropping August 6th!

  • Jeff Bergman Talks Jellystone! Debuting on HBO Max July 29th
JEFF BERGMAN, voice of Bugs Bunny in upcoming SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY and Yogi Bear in new HBO Max series JELLYSTONE!, premiering July 29th

ABOUT JELLYSTONE!, DEBUTING ON HBO MAX JULY 29th

Hey, Hey, Hey! Yogi Bear, Cindy Bear, Huckleberry Hound and a Universe of Hanna-Barbara Characters Welcome You to Jellystone! Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy, alongside an epic ensemble cast of Hanna-Barbera characters, are returning to television screens in the all-new animated comedy, Jellystone! The Max Original series helmed by acclaimed showrunner and executive producer C.H. Greenblatt and produced by Warner Bros. Animation, presents a reimagined take on these beloved characters, modernizing them for today's family audience and introducing them to a new generation of fans. Season one premieres Thursday, July 29 on HBO Max.

Set in the charming town of the same name, Jellystone! follows an ensemble of Hanna-Barbera characters as they live, work, play, and (as is often the case), destroy the town in some silly way together. Huckleberry Hound proudly serves as the town's mayor; Cindy, Boo Boo and Yogi are the town's medical staff; Jabberjaw works at Magilla's clothing store where they supply all the bow ties and hats to the town's citizens; and every character has a specific role in the community. Their paths cross in fun and ridiculous ways, turning everyday activities into hilarious pandemonium.

"I grew up watching tons of Hanna-Barbera cartoons and have a deep love for these characters," said Greenblatt. "The massive amount of both classic and not-so-classic characters we were able to use from the Hanna-Barbera library is what really makes the Jellystone! universe special. Rather than recreate the feeling of cartoons of the past, we wanted to have silly, weird fun with these characters and expand their personalities to give them more depth. Chances are if there's a character you love, you'll see them somewhere in this world eventually. We hope longtime fans appreciate our take on this world, and we're excited that parents get to introduce and enjoy their favorite Hanna-Barbera characters with their kids."

Greenblatt serves as showrunner and executive producer, and voices several characters including Doggie Daddy, Boo Boo, Peter Potamus, and Benny. Joining him in this talented voice cast includes: Jeff Bergman, the voice of Yogi, Mr. Jinks, Wally Gator, and Lippy the Lion; Jim Conroy, the voice of Huckleberry Hound, Captain Caveman, and Pa Rugg, and more; Georgie Kidder, the voice of Auggie Doggie, Brain, and Floral Rugg; Grace Helbig, the voice of Cindy Bear, Yappy, Taffy, and Granny Sweet; Niccole Thurman, the voice of Jabberjaw, Squiddly Diddly, and Dee Dee Sykes; Thomas Lennon, the voice of Top Cat; Ron Funches, the voice of Shag Rugg; Bernardo de Paula, the voice of El Kabong and Mildew Wolf; Dana Snyder, the voice of Snagglepuss, Touché Turtle, and Lambsy; Katie Grober, the voice of Yakky Doodle; Paul F.
