As the year comes to a close, many of us find ourselves looking back on the path we’ve travelled in the past year. What challenged us? What changed us? And how did we emerge on the other side of it all? Reflection is vital to growth and in the moments when life is telling us to slow down and to notice what’s changing within us and why, we must do so.
In today's Part 4 episode, I continue my conversation with Dr. Yun Kim and we share our experience of traveling to Tibet and exploring the emotional, spiritual, and physical experiences that came along with it. We discuss how transformation unfolds through both adventure and adversity, and the importance of embracing this transformation and stepping into your next chapter with courage, openness, and intention.
Tune in and listen to the thirty-sixth episode of I Can Do This, Show Me How! to witness what reflection looks like in real time.

Every year we undergo a mix of challenges, victories, revelations, and unexpected turning points. Given this, it’s important to pause long enough to reflect on what we’ve learned and how these lessons have changed us. These are the moments to take a breath, slow down, and give ourselves credit for how far we’ve come.
In today's solo episode, I dive deeper into reflective practice - what it is, why it matters, and how it shapes every meaningful transformation. I draw from my own experiences, including a profound moment during a journey to Tibet, and explore concepts like the difference between self-awareness and self-reflection, the important role courage plays in our lives, and the forces that shape us as we move through life.

As 2025 draws to a close, have you taken time to honour the year you’ve lived? Have you contemplated every twist, turn, detour, triumph, and loss? In these times, it’s important to slow down, take a breath, and reflect on the path you’ve walked the past 11 months. The aim is not to judge or tally your progress, but instead to acknowledge your growth, however big or small.
In today's solo episode, I walk us through the key stages of the Hero’s Journey and invite you to apply your own experience and perspective to each of these stages. I share my own call to adventure this year and the major life events that almost drowned out that call. I hope by sharing my personal story of loss, grief, resilience, focus, and transformation, I offer you room to reflect, and perhaps relate, to your own stories, in your own way.

Have you ever felt that life was calling you in another direction? Sometimes, things that we’ve built and poured ourselves into, whether it be careers, institutions, or dreams, begin to change in ways that we can’t control, and letting go of what once defined us can feel impossible. However, it can also be the beginning of something new. The truth is, endings, while painful, often make space for transformation, reflection, and rediscovery.
In today's Part 3 episode, my conversation with Dr. Yun Kim continues as we discuss the closure of Emperor’s College, her family’s legacy in acupuncture, and her personal journey of navigating loss and rebirth. Dr. Kim shares what it was like to make the difficult decision to close the institution her family founded. She talks about how she cared for herself, with the help of her community, and what she’s learned about identity, leadership, and healing through undergoing this time of transition. We also explore the future of acupuncture education, the integration of the practice with modern technology, and the lasting impact of Dr. Kim’s students, who continue to shape the world of integrative medicine.
Tune in and listen to the thirty-third episode of I Can Do This, Show Me How! to hear how Dr. Kim found meaning in closure, freedom in uncertainty, and strength in transformation.

Oftentimes, when our bodies and minds are worn down, healing those parts of ourselves involves re-balancing. A huge part of this is listening to your body and taking the time to pause and tune into your mind and spirit. When you do this, pain, stress, or imbalance can be seen as an invitation to realign, release, and restore harmony from within.

We explore the deeper layers of acupuncture and how this ancient practice continues to transform lives today. From calming the nervous system and easing anxiety, to improving sleep, circulation, and emotional wellbeing, Dr. Kim shares how acupuncture can help the body restore its healing power.

Have you ever felt like some of your most defining qualities, qualities that are integral to who you are as a person, are viewed as barriers to success in the eyes of others? This is the reality for most Black men navigating the education system. Challenges like stereotyping, bias, and being part of a system that, at its core, wasn’t built with them in mind, are a reality and more often than not negatively impact the experiences of those students affected.
In today's episode, I continue my conversation with Danny L. Crumble, who shares more about his experiences as a Black male navigating education, starting from his early school days through to his graduate studies. Danny speaks candidly about confronting stereotypes, redefining his relationship with the attainment of knowledge, and how these and other lessons inform his work today with students in higher education. .
