Verse of the Day:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1
When you give someone your word - what does that mean? It means they are promising you their integrity. They are ensuring that you can trust them to what they say.
In the same way Jesus was God’s word made flesh.
From day one - he said we could have relationship with him. Remember that God used to walk with Adam in the garden.
From day one - he said the impossible was possible with him.
He gave us many spoken promises over the years and one day a baby was born. The word made flesh.
Jesus made a way for us to have open relationship with God. Jesus made room for miracles. Jesus was God’s promise to us.
He is the image of what we strive for to be to one another.
If I can take my friends at the words when they promise me something, how much more will I take God at his?
