We all love contact sports, don’t we? As long as we don’t think too much about concussion, and the lifelong injuries the players sustain and the risk of death. It makes a lot of money and it’s fun so it’s all good! They’ll be around forever!
Well actually, some people think contact sports like rugby league and pro wrestling have a limited lifespan. To discuss this topic, Lonnie and Dylan invited Liam Callaghan, a sports writer who runs the Maroon Observer newsletter, to discuss exactly how contact sports might see their demise. Not the most hilarious topic, and who knows, maybe we’re totally wrong – but we certainly sound like we know what we’re on about. Spoiler: nothing is easy to stop when money is on the line.
