I Miss You Man

It’s another instalment of The Christina Chronicles, our deep dive into the filmography of Christina Ricci! This week’s movie: “Here After”

Almost done with the Chronicles so it feels good to have another weird pile of dreck to wade through. A somewhat interesting concept which doesn’t go anywhere. And she’s in a bad wig!

As a young man, Lonnie joined the unwashed masses of Letterboxd. He wanted to review every film he’d ever seen. He quickly gave up – but not before posting some embarrassing nonsense. Part one was pretty terrible last week. But! Good news! Part two this week is a bit more tolerable. He’s actually reviewing the movies for the most part and not trying to be smart. And he’s not being creepy towards the female actors. Phew.

And our Get Amongst It suggestion this week…  My Old Ass. Amazing movie!

As a young man, Lonnie joined the unwashed masses of Letterboxd. He wanted to review every film he’d ever seen. He quickly gave up – but not before posting some embarrassing nonsense – trying to be funny, trying to be smart, trying to pretend he had a crush on Channing Tatum. Why? No one will ever know. In this podcast, Lonnie takes Dylan through these embarrassing reviews – and it got so bad they had to stop. Come back next week for the second part.

And our Get Amongst It suggestion this week…  The Adventures of Tintin. Good movie. Bad review from Lonnie.

It’s another instalment of The Christina Chronicles, our deep dive into the filmography of Christina Ricci! This week’s movie: “Percy”

We’re this far into the Chronicles that it is refreshing – positively thrilling! – to watch a sold 3-star movie. Percy doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it’s a classic underdog tale and that’s okay with us! Christopher Walken is always watchable and Christina is dependable in a smaller role. And Zach Braff nails it too!

Drop bears are the scariest part of the Australian outback. The stories of these formidable creatures are so terrifying that if you’re not from Australia, you probably shouldn’t listen to this podcast. But if you’re brave enough, you’ll learn a thing or two about the history of drop bears and how their tale spread. Be warned though, it’s a pretty gruesome episode – perfect for this scary time of year!

Lonnie thought it was about time we figured out if ghosts are real or not. And he thought that friend of the show, Jessa Stephens, would be the perfect guest to help their investigation. Jessa wants to believe in ghosts, Dylan is open to them and Lonnie thinks they’re a nice story but nothing more – but has some ideas as to where they might be, if they are in fact real!

And our Get Amongst It suggestion this week… Jessa reckons get amongst Scream Test and Scary Movie 2.

Who doesn’t love a good spook? We do! As in, we love it. At least every now and then. And this week Dylan takes Lonnie through a choose your own adventure with none other than the Goosebumps! Lonnie sure says wow a lot as he explores a secretive, possibly zombie infested boarding school! It’s good stuff, scary stuff and sometimes even funny stuff.
