  2. Number 2: 65: Casket Girls - New Orleans

In the 1700s, New Orleans was part of a struggling French colony desperate for new residents. So, naturally, they started importing women to help grow the population. But when 88 of these women arrived - deathly pale and carrying coffin-shaped luggage - it’s said they tore through New Orleans on a vampiric murder spree, leading the local nuns to imprison them in a convent attic…where some say they remain to this day. Today, we’re exploring the legend of the Casket Girls and the real women who inspired it. Correction: The Anne Rice novel Gina mentions is Interview with the Vampire, not Interview for a Vampire. Gina pleads not guilty by reason of slight inebriation. Story starts: 12:59 📖Book recommendations: A Dowry of Blood by S.T. 3. Number 3: 51: La Voisin - Witches

By day, she was a church-goer and a charming fortune teller to the French elite. By night, she lorded over a black market empire dealing in poisons, potions, and Satanic rituals. That’s right - today, we’re talking about La Voisin. Catherine Montvoisin (better known as La Voisin) led a double life that blurred the lines between healer and killer, helper and heretic. History paints her as a monster. But the women who came to her saw something very different - a midwife. A confidant. Someone helping them survive in a system built to crush them. So what’s the truth? And who gets to decide? US, PROBABLY. 5. Number 5: 50: The Bell Witch - Witches

The case of the Bell Witch haunting in Adams, Tennessee has been one of America’s spookiest legends since it first happened in the early 1800s👻 The Bell family claimed they were tormented by a mischievous spirit that whispered secrets, threw objects, and even took credit for John Bell’s mysterious death. Over the years, locals pointed fingers at neighbor Kate Batts, painting her as the “witch” behind it all. But history suggests Kate may have just been a quirky woman with a sharp tongue, unfairly cast as the villain (classic). Maybe the haunting wasn’t about witches at all, and is just a good old-fashioned ghost story that got a little out of hand… We’ll let you be the judge👀 Story starts at: 12:55 Welcome to I Scream, You Scream, a podcast with your weekly scoop of the most chilling histories, mysteries & paranormal perplexities!
