This expat in Poland:

1. Plants a salacious story on 4chan.
2. Plants comments using VPNs.
3. Plants the story on Reddit.
4. Buys upvotes for Reddit.
5. It either goes viral on its own, or the guy sends it to journalists.

As said during the pod, this guy does this to take down brands, but it can also be used for blackhat SEO.

Though obviously I do not advise or perform anything blackhat.

Going viral is one of the most powerful things in SEO.

This boosts the domain authority of the target site, and many keywords can be ranked for.
