I know the struggle
I firmly believe that woman deserve to hear the truth, and I want you to hear it from someone who gets it.
I’m a real mom, and I know the struggles of raising kids, working, maintaining a household, trying to have a social life and then on top of that, workout, eat right and be the PTA mom…
Here I want to cover all the issues that nobody else will admit to. I take pride in being a real genuine person and that is something I think we are losing a lot these days, especially with social media.
About me
I was not the little girl in glitter and sparkles, I didn’t wear no tutu.
I am a mom of three girls and was born and raised in Saginaw Michigan, and now live in California. My mom was a stay at home mom and my dad was a cop, he was very into working out and our basement was literally a gym. He was also really into martial arts so I grew up doing it.
My sensei was really tough but it taught me the discipline and respect I still use to this day.
The first time I stepped into a gym
I loved that I could stand in a room and motivate that many people at once.
In high school, I was walking down the hall and I see this flyer that says ‘looking for someone to clean gym equipment in exchange for a gym membership’. I was so excited, grabbed the opportunity! This was my first entry into a gym. I absolutely loved it!
I used the weight equipment and started self-training. They also had classes and I started doing classes with them. The instructor noticed that I was really good at it. She took me under her wing and started showing me how to teach the class. Before I knew it, they asked me if I wanted to start teaching, at the age of 15!
I was soon teaching multiple classes and working so hard just get food on the table. After all this time of teaching classes, people eventually started to approach me and asked me to train them. I wasn’t certified at this point but the gym paid for me to get my group certification done.
Motherhood changed me
I was overweight, I was out of shape and I was in this body that I did not recognize
Fast forward, I got married and had my first baby. 6 weeks later I was doing a lingerie shoot, I bounced back so quickly! My second pregnancy was very different. I nearly lost my baby at 5 months and even after she was born we were in and out of the hospital. My third baby was a surprise. And this pregnancy was hard on me as well and I put on 60 pounds.
When my third baby was 8 months old, I was trying to work out again and was losing some weight but it was very sporadic. At one point I was on the floor and I was doing mountain climbers… My stomach was hitting my thighs.
