Ice Is Slippery

This week on Ice is Slippery, we give our opinions on the new PWHL jerseys before checking in on news around the NHL. During our weekly discussion on the Flyers and the Stars, Kate has a slight existential crisis about the current status of the boys in victory green. Finally, we figure out which NHL players should start a band and what roles they should play. Hint: there will be a bongo specialist.

This week on Ice is Slippery, we give ourselves a fright by recounting Halloween highlights from around the NHL and checking in on our favorite jump scares on skates, the Philadelphia Flyers. We also add some international flair as we cover the Dallas Stars on their trip to Finland to play the Florida Panthers in the NHL Global Series.

This week, Kate and Fred talk about the Frozen Frenzy. The what? Exactly. Next we check in on the Stars where the power play is an emotional roller coaster, but the throuple line always seems to pull through when we need them. Meanwhile, the Flyers give us some good news for once. And finally, find out who's invited to the party that we're definitely not throwing.

This week on Ice is Slippery, Kate and Fred talk about what's going right with the Dallas Stars and what's going less right with the Philadelphia Flyers. We also debate the science behind so-called magical amulets (spoiler alert: there isn't any) and track down other bizarre products for NHL players to potentially endorse.

Hockey is officially back! We revisit pomp and circumstance from around the NHL - from league promos to team promos, from opening ceremonies to opening games. We take an early look at the Stars and the Flyers, and we even have time for a thought exercise on fast food sandwiches.

The NHL is in a weird liminal space between preseason and actual season, so we spend our inaugural episode breaking down FACEOFF: Inside the NHL on Amazon Prime. Tune in to hear our thoughts on William Nylander's playoff chest hair, Jeremy Swayman's unexpected turn as Guitar Guy at the Party, and why we're reluctantly charmed by Matthew Tkachuk.

Ice is Slippery is an unserious hockey podcast brought to you by one and a half hockey fans. In this teaser you'll meet Kate (the hockey fan) and her husband Fred (the other one) and get a quick taste of what you can expect from future episodes.
