We are once again lucky to have the multi-talented Kia Williams, the 2022 IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year, as guest host for the podcast! Today, Kia talks with Chris Stevenson and Steven Trotter, two big picture thinkers and leaders in the fitness industry. They have a new book coming out that provides a step-by-step roadmap on how to launch, operate and be a successful fitness business owner. Chris and Steven provide some solid preview notes on what to expect from the upcoming book.
Chris Stevenson is the founder of The Empower Group, a full-service consulting firm, with expertise ranging from individual coaching, staff training, workshops, full facility management and more. He is an international speaker who regularly presents for IDEA, IHRSA, Athletic Business, Club Industry, and many other fitness and business events. In addition, he is on the IHRSA board of directors and the IDEA Club & Studio Owners Committee.
Steven Trotter has 20 years of fitness and wellness experience, and was a finalist for the 2017 IDEA Health & Fitness Program Director of the Year Award. With a Master’s degree in health and physical education from Virginia Tech, he is a thought leader, consultant, writer, adjunct faculty member, and principal for Globetrotter Wellness Solutions. He also serves as the director of well-being at East Carolina University and chairs the Well-Being Collective, a university-wide advocacy team, for which he strategically leads well-being initiatives at all ECU campuses.
