“Momma is passing out the pain in her heart to her children.” She grew up with her first child that she had as a teen. By 35, she had three children and the oldest just moved out.
….and she was tired 😪. Tired of waiting on a husband. Tired of fussing and instructing children and correcting their behaviors. She was tired of taking her mother grocery shopping every other week.
She was tired of being nice to her brothers wives and their little cry baby spoiled azz kids.
See your mother was tired by the age of 35. She suffered as a Woman of color with poor wages, judgmental judicial and societal systems on unmarried women, her own childhood trauma that she NEVER speaks about.
Oh….. this woman was tired of suffering. And she did it with pride!! Her head held high as she walked into church with her three children (dressed as best as she could afford), and took her place. Her self-worth and value were daily at her job. The choices weren’t as many then. Factory, restaurant, military, or hospital.
Survival has always been her game. Thriving looks like a fantasy to her.
🌷It is the experiences that you shared that you hold tightly to your heart.
❣️Or the ones you didn’t have because of her decisions.
Have you looked into “Momma’s heart?” Can you see her hidden pain? Join me today for the first episode of the season.

Employers versus employees will always be up for discussion but the identity of the "employee" and the "employer" sing different tunes and rhymes nowadays. The true work is discovering the identities of each and creating its unique cultural identity and racial identity.
