Idling In The Impala | a ride through SPN fandom and fanfiction

Okay, the response to the first class with Karlee ranting about sexual myths in fics went over well. You’ve all signed up to get lectured by the Agent of Chaos and Kink, so welcome to the next class.

Today’s subject in Sex Education with Karlee is female ejaculation. You can blame Sandra for this one. She had questions.

Disclaimer - The instructor gets very passionate about the topic, and every attempt has been made for the discussion to be as gender-neutral as possible. Not all women have vaginas, and not all vagina owners are women. Some squeak and ick in the discussion may be uncomfortable for listeners. The discussion is meant for entertainment purposes. (Also, the Yorkshire accent was unavoidable.)

You can check out Karlee’s class materials here.

Sandra and Karlee have been breaking down their fave episodes for a bit now. Next on the list – favorite Monster of the Week! As always, their approach to the homework assignment varied wildly. Have a listen and let them know your thoughts on their picks and which one you would have chosen!

Canon Fodder FicRec Time! Another friend of the podcast, runawaydr3amer (an amazing Wincest author in her own right; check out her stuff), recommended a story to Sandra and Karlee that blew them away. You get to hear all about how phenomenal it is in great detail!

WARNING - Sandra and Karlee are spoiling this story from the jump. They are encouraging listeners who enjoy Wincest to read it first and come back to hear their discussion.

Sandra and Karlee have done this three times before. First, they picked their top and bottom episodes for Seasons 1 through 5. The best and worst of Seasons 6 through 10 were next. And, then, it was Seasons 11 through 15.

Now, they’re rounding up the best of the best and worst of the worst for their ultimate lists for the entire series run.

Let them know your thoughts on their picks!

Oh, Lucifer, you’re such a misunderstood fallen angel. In this episode, Sandra and Karlee discuss Supernatural’s take on the archangel who can’t be contained and the many actors that took a turn portraying the little devil.

Podfic Narration Time – “la cocina es el centro de la casa” (translation: the kitchen is the center of the house) by deadlybride

Karlee and I were recommended this fic and we fell in love with it. Young Sam and Dean, a little slice of life, all the sweet smiles and feels.

The author, deadlybride, was kind enough to permit me to narrate in full. So, here it is for your enjoyment. Please forgive any butchering of the Spanish. I gave it my best shot (and a lot of research).

And all I could think of was Dean saying, “I don’t know… why don’t you ask me that in Spanish?”

Visit the story on AO3 here, and don’t forget to give it a kudo and comment!

Summary:

One summer, Dean and Sam get left behind when their dad goes on a hunt in Southern Arizona.

We got another Canon Fodder FicRec! This time it’s from a friend of the podcast, BJ. We interviewed BJ on the podcast a few months back. You can listen to it here to learn why the idea of Dean in a Chicken Apron in this recommended fic made us all giggle.

Also, keep an ear out for the podfic version of this story very soon. A big thank you to the author, deadlybride, for permitting me to narrate in its entirety.
