In this episode, we are joined by an extraordinary guest - Alisha Marjadsingh.
Alisha (who has only been known as A. Marj by her readers and followers prior to this podcast), is an up-and-coming author. Today, she has bravely agreed to introduce herself to the world and tell her story about how she and her family have struggled with anxiety and depression. Although this illness has led this family through some very dark times, she shares that amidst all the darkness a glimmer of light came through - allowing her to rise to a very inspiring moment in her life.
Alisha humbly describes herself as an average author, mother, and wife, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She grew up in a loving family, graduated from high school (with her now husband), and made it through college with no sense of direction in life at the time. Despite not knowing where her life was headed, everything worked out pretty well. Alisha currently works full-time in child and community services, where she has spent 6 years helping families navigate through difficult times. Although she loves being a part of this community, she recently realized that something was missing.
"I've had a passion for writing since I was a very young girl. Everything from essays to song lyrics. I may not have had the courage to share my work with others until now, but writing has been a light at the end of a few dark tunnels for me. A recent turn of events has given me a new perspective on life and given me the courage to finally share my work with the world. I hope to inspire, encourage, and uplift you all. I couldn't be more excited to share the power of writing in my first-ever published journal, Heart and Soul: An interactive Journey of Self-care and Discovery."
