This world is a system with a mindset that has a force and power of darkness behind it. It has such a hold over us that if God doesn't come and deliver us we will be swept away by it. The only way to be delivered from the course of this world is through the Lord Jesus Christ.
What Jesus did on the Cross is all that matters, and that is the message that will batter down the walls of hell. The Gospel is the message that will tear down imaginations and pull down strongholds. We are to glory in Christ's work on the Cross alone.
Who is the “prince of the power of the air”? Is it of course the Devil? Or is it referring to someone else?
We are confronted by a spirit outside of ourselves, a personal being who tracks us and is after us. A person who has a kingdom, and he is not just operating by himself. He has an agenda. He possesses a hatred and is head over all other fallen angels. We read in the Scriptures about the strategies of the Devil. He has a network, is highly organized, and he has an agenda. We know full well in Scripture that he does battle against those who name the name of Jesus Christ and who keep the commandments of God.
In this sermon we are talking about what he does to the sons of disobedience. We are not talking about what he does to Christians, but we are talking about what he did to us when we were not Christians.
Some use the expression, “God doesn’t want you to be happy, He wants you to be holy.” Yet they forget that there is no such thing as the unhappy holy Christian. The holy Christian is the happy Christian. The believer does not forsake happiness to have holiness, but because of holiness they are happy in God.
God has sovereignly placed you in your local church and given you the pastors you have. He has given you the people in your fellowship and they have imperfections, just as you do. Yet those weaknesses that you see in your local church can be the very things God is using to conform you to the image of Christ and to teach you to abound in love. So don't go back from a conference and compare the experience there with that from your local church and begin to despise your local church.
Pastors' wives have unique challenges and blessings. Ruby shares about four things that have been helpful to her over the years: humility, helper, heaven, and holiness.
In this video Tim Conway's wife Ruby shares with a group of pastors' wives during the 2017 Fellowship Conference.
There is a subtle form of legalism that some fall into when they are constantly asking, "Show me in the Bible where it says I can't do that." This question often misses the heart of the matter. Our focus should be on loving the Lord Jesus above all else. Rather than creating a list of do's and don'ts and asking, "Is this permissive or is it not?" One should strive to approve what is most excellent. You should ask, "In what I am about to do, is it to the glory of God?"
As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the LORD is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. - Psalm 18:30

In a healthy marriage it is essential to communicate. We must apply Ecclesiastes 3:7 which says, "A time to be silent, and a time to speak." In marriage there is a time to be silent–that is to have listening skills. There is a time to speak–that is to have communication skills.
