  • Renée Thornton - Women Hunt

Renee Thornton is leading the charge with the Women Hunt program, part of the Wild Sheep Foundation. With women being the fastest growing part of the hunting industry, the need for something to help open the doorway for women across North America and provide opportunities to involve new hunters to learn from experts and give them the knowledge and tools to go back into their communities and share with others was a huge reason for the start of this program. Renee's personal experiences getting into hunting later in life and knowing she needed a good mentor to be a successful and ethical hunter, has led her down a path to be able to share what she has learned. This was such a great conversation about a lot of different topics within the sport of hunting. Be sure and follow the Women Hunt program and stay up to date with all the great work at The Wild Sheep Foundation.

  • Theophile Bourgeois - Bourgeois Fishing Charters

Theophile Bourgeois IV is putting his stamp on his family's legacy and creating his own legacy as he rebuilds what his father had worked so hard to create down in New Orleans. After Theophile's father passed in 2019 in a tragic plane accident during a storm, he made some major life changing decisions to take a break from his successful tattoo and music career and continue the family business of Bourgeois Fishing Charters and the Lodge. Hurricanes, supply chain delays, COVID and everything else the past couple of years has taken its toll on this family, but Theophile's dedication and strong work ethic is bringing everything back bigger and better than ever imagined. A truly inspiring message from one of the coolest people I've met, don't miss this episode!

  • Hunting for the Cure -Keith and Sonya Stille

At this year's NWTF show I was able to meet Keith Stille and his wife Sonya from Hunting for the Cure. This power couple has been doing some amazing things through the sport of hunting and bringing kids battling cancer and their families together at events across the country to form strong relationships and be part of a bigger family. In this episode, Keith and Sonya talk about what it was that led them down this path to starting a non-profit, the spiderweb effect that was created through so many volunteers and families and some of the other great things they are doing to help families in need across the U.S. Be sure to follow along with them and check out their website to donate to their mission or to get involved as a volunteer with one of their hunts.

  • Marco Schoonwinkel - Motsomi Safaris

Marco Schoonwinkel was born and raised in South Africa, a land full of wildlife and a diverse culture that depends on tourism to support its economy. Recently, at the Houston Safari Club Expo I got to meet Marco and we sat down to record this episode. I've never been to Africa, so this was a great opportunity to learn more about what to expect when going on a safari for the first time, discuss the common misperceptions of people about hunting there and how emotion plays such a powerful, yet misinformed role in what people think about Africa as a whole. I cannot wait for the opportunity to make this journey and hope to share a few days in the field with Marco and the crew at Motsomi Safaris.

Be sure to check them out and give them an opportunity when looking to book that next "Hunt of a Lifetime"!
