Growing up in Wisconsin, Chris Dorsey had the outdoors as his playground right in his own backyard. His passion for hunting, fishing and educating others was evident from an early age and that propelled him into his career early on in the print media market. Writing for numerous magazines and serving as editor in chief for several major publications, Chris was well on his way to becoming one of the biggest names in the outdoors industry. Chris spent several years working for Ducks Unlimited and eventually moved into the tv world and hosting and producing many different shows all across television. Growing up in Oklahoma, all I ever wanted to do was fish when possible. The next best thing was watching fishing shows on tv, but even better than that was watching Outdoor Oklahoma on PBS and see places in my own state. This show meant a lot to me and really opened my eyes up to what all Oklahoma has to offer outdoors. Fast forward 25+ years later and I'm turkey hunting with Todd Craighead, host of Outdoor Oklahoma down here in Texas at the 1st Hunt Fish Podcast summit. I had reached out to Todd and invited him down as one of our guests and he gladly accepted. I already knew Todd was an an amazing individual, accomplished hunter and passionate about helping others, but spending some time with him down here really showed me and everyone else what a true "Oklahoma" treasure Todd is and how big of an impact he has made in so many lives.

Erin Merrill never truly hunted until she was in her twenties, but that doesn't mean she wasn't in the woods chasing deer with her dad growing up in the woods of Maine. Erin is currently one of the premier outdoors writers working for Drury Outdoors as a senior writer for DeerCast, writing a monthly column in Northwoods Sporting Journal and President and co-founder of "Women of the Maine Outdoors" where she is leading the way in enabling women and young girls in getting involved in the outdoors. This was a great conversation about a lot of what is going on in Maine currently with all the different species that are available to hunters and with public/private land hunting rights. We also chatted about the wild turkey populations and how they are doing so well that now they are sending birds all the way down here to Texas to be stocked into rebuilding populations of Easterns. I met Bill probably 7 years ago as I went to my first NWTF chapter meeting at the Harris County Wildlife Group. It was evident that everyone had the utmost respect for Bill and appreciated all that he has done in service to this country and to all those wild turkeys and other animals that his calls have worked on over the years. Bill is owner of Crowell Custom Calls, located here in Houston and produces some of the best looking and sounding calls for turkeys, deer, waterfowl and more. I sat down with Bill recently and had a great conversation about his long career working in the Air Force, the space program and with McDonald-Douglas.
