Impact!

In this episode, we are thrilled to welcome the gifted teacher, pilgrimage leader, psychotherapist, spiritual counsellor, and musician Judith Tripp, who talks to Ellen about her deep work with women to embrace the Divine Feminine, and in leading ministries focused on healing our Mother Earth. Judith talks about a calling that she has shared with other wise souls to imbue the Earth with physical vessels for healing, following a Tibetan Buddhist practice that calls for Earth healing. Judith describes a vision that has led her to an enacting of this practice in Washington DC this Earth Day, 22 April 2024.

Impact! Is presented by Ellen Bintz and Clive Johnson. It is produced by Impact Productions.

Join hosts Ellen and Clive as they navigate the convoluted history and current tensions between Iran and Israel in this special episode. We dive into the geopolitical, ideological, and historical factors that have shaped the Iranian-Israeli relationships, providing a comprehensive primer into the roots of the rivalry, analyzing the key periods that have affected this bond, and explaining the significant influences exercised by other global players, including the U.S.

Special attention is given to the impact of US policies under bother former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden, viewpoints from Israel and Iran, and the critical roles that internal politics, public opinion, and Middle East geopolitics have played in bringing the two countries to their current state of mistrust.

Suggested intention

As many commentators say that the relationship between Iran and Israel is at a crossroads, for our suggested focus for intention this week, we suggest that the governments of both countries chose a path that seeks to deescalate the tension between them:

We will that those in positions of influence and power within the Israeli and Iranian governments will be inspired and emboldened to pursue a path of de-escalating tensions between their two nations.

In this special episode, as Global Healing Response moves its attention from water to Earth and as Earth Day approaches, we take a look at our vital dependency on and responsibility for caring for the element called earth – the hard, solid constituent of our planet that includes rocks, the soil, sands, and the great, shifting tectonic plates that move imperceptibly below our feet.

Earth includes all the minerals we use to build our homes and create the things that we consider necessary for our lives. It includes sources of fuel such as coal. We might extend our definition to include products that start as solids, but have been made into gas, oil, and the myriad chemicals that are the building blocks for life. When we think about the Earth, we might think about standing on firm ground, having a place where we can root ourselves, and most critically of all, the place we call home.

Climate change and the effects of plastic pollution are key topics in our conversation. Earth Day, a global initiative intended to motivate conservation of our planet, this year stresses the dire need for significant reduction of plastic production.

Research findings from Curtin University serve as the groundwork of our reflection on the damage extreme heat and drought inflict on Australia's soil and its potential failure to achieve COP climate objectives. We also emphasize the notable link between global peace and soil health, brought to public attention by U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at the World Economic Forum conference in Davos earlier this year.

We explore the surprising statistics of sand exploitation and ponder the dilemmas plaguing renewable energy production. This thought-provoking episode sheds light on humanity's often detrimental impact on the planet and the importance of mindfulness towards our actions and their environmental repercussions.

We wrap up with straightforward, everyday actions each of us can commit to, saving our planet and underlining the power of collective action to surmount environmental challenges. Tune into this compelling episode and take part in our mission to heal our planet.

Earth Day is 22 April 2024.

Suggested intention

As we reflect upon humans’ varying ability to exploit Earths minerals in damaging or beneficial ways, we suggest holding as our focused intention this week:

We will that scientists, environmentalists, governments, and all who have influence will be inspired to discover and promote projects that benefit rather than harm life on Earth.

Please join us in holding this.

In this special deep dive, we take a look at the rise in xenophobia against Tajik nationals living in Russia following the attack on the Crocus City Hall in Moscow last month. We explore the reasons why Tajiks have been linked with the jihadist group ISIS-K, and the prevalence of discrimination against ethnic groups in Russia both before and after the concert hall attack. We learn how the lives of millions of migrants living and working in Russia have been affected following the attack.

Suggested intention

As discrimination against Tajik nationals following the Crocus City Hall attack has the potential to exacerbate and kindle new waves of violence, we suggest holding for our intention this week:

We will that Russian citizens see that the majority of migrant workers in their country are peaceful, loving and trying to provide for their families.

Shared intention

As the full horror of the alleged Islamic State terrorist attack in Moscow last Friday becomes known, we think especially of those grieving and struggling to come to terms with this horrific act:

We will that all who are grieving loved ones who died or were severely harmed by the attack at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow last week will be held in light, comfortrd, and be strengthened in their time of great sadness.

As always, we’ll include this intention in our show notes.

Continuing our conversation with David Ash, visionary physicist and prolific author, to probe into how the concept of superenergy may help explain supernatural phenomena. David takes us deeper into understanding the physics that underpins his thinking, as we open up to considering the potential for so-called “miracles” to occur in a dimension where travel at faster than the speed of light is possible. In this episode, David offers thoughts on the possible science behind Near Death Experiences, the miracles of Jesus and more recent gurus like Sai Baba.

As this year’s World Labyrinth Day approaches, Ellen catches up with Carmel Stabley, Vice President of Community and Regional Representative Co-ordinator for The Labyrinth Society. Carmel gives a fascinating outline of the history and purpose of this annual event and focus for global intention holding, including a 24-hour marathon that took place at the time the COVID lockdown kept most of us holed up at home, and shares the beautiful intention behind the invitation on this day to “walk as one at one” all around the world while holding an intention for peace.

Carmel and Ellen (who when she isn't presenting this podcast and among many other roles, is also co-ordinator of World Labyrinth Day) talk about how intention setting has become an important part of an event that now regularly brings thousands of people together on one day as the world turns from as far afield as New Zealand and Hawaii.

The wave of peace that circles our world might perhaps this year be more potent still by the fact that World Labyrinth Day falls on May 4th. As any good Jedi might say, “Come walk–And may the Fourth be with you!”

World Labyrinth Day this year is on 4 May 2024.

Join us for a look at news stories from around the world this week, some of which may not be making the headlines where you are, as we consider where and how we might focus our intentions and prayers.

Shared intention

In a week in which we especially remember the role played by courageous women in affecting change, we suggest keeping those brave souls campaigning for compassionate treatment in Iran as our main intention this week:

We will that those who continue to campaign for women’s rights in Iran have the courage, strength and insight to know how to most effectively make their protest while minimising the risk of harm to themselves.

Please join us in holding this.

Today, as violence continues in the small Caribbean nation of Haiti and its Prime Minister Ariel Henry announces that he will step down from office, we take a deep dive to understand the history, circumstances and politics that have brought about the rise of criminal gangs in the country and led to deep opposition to Henry's government. As we broaden our understanding, we suggest specific topics that we might home in on in our intentions and prayers.

Look out for our regular digest of world news and our suggestions for intercession and intention, which will be dropping later this week.
