  • #45 - Make Hockey Great Again
In this week’s episode, the boys announced another huge upcoming guest. Author and sports personality, Jim Lang, who co-wrote Everyday Hockey Heroes with Bob McKenzie joins us next week. Volume Two will be available on November 10th.
The Arizona Coyotes continue to be at the forefront of NHL news and the boys break down the Mitchell Miller situation after looking at all the facts. The incompetence of the Coyotes is baffling.
We then shift gears to the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The government says one thing, they receive backlash, then backpedal??? It’s confusing so let us explain and tell you why it’s a joke.
We also talk about Alex Galchenyuk, Michael Hutchinson, and many other signings and hirings around the league.

  • #44 - Dual Wield with Colin Mulvey
A jammed pack episode this week folks! We have two interviews today. First, we talk to Colin Mulvey. Colin played in the NCAA, ECHL, and 3rd Division in Germany. He talks about how he found us and is now a listener, his time spent overseas, and what it was like to play with Trevor Gillies. And we also took our shot at getting Mike Grier to come on the show and we got our first t-shirt idea.
Then, we had our October Listener of the Month in Mathieu Birtles join the show! He completed the trifecta of Habs fans on the panel and told us some cool stories about going to school with Tyler Seguin and Christian Thomas. Also, the kinda-sorta not related to Vincent Lecavalier story.
In the rest of the episode, the boys touched on the Jake Virtanen, Devon Toews, and Travis Dermott signings as well as another tough story out of the Arizona Coyotes organization.
It’s another FaceOff classic filled with laughs and a special Pizzaburger review.

  • #43 - Jumbo Size
We have a couple of announcements for you! In today’s episode, we’re joined by Joe Giorno, our September Listener of the Month. He told us what he loved about us, what he didn’t like, and how much we’ve grown. Next week, we will be joined with our October Listener of the Month, followed by former ECHL & Europe player, Colin Mulvey.
Joe Thornton has finally signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jumbo was open and honest saying he and the Leafs have been trying for this since 2017. Where does Joe play this upcoming season, and what do we make of all the moves the Leafs have made? What are the expectations?
Speaking of which, the people of Montreal should have high ones. GM Marc Bergevin has really put a nice team together and locking in some key pieces. Brendan Gallagher and Jake Allen have both signed and are poised to give the rest of the Canadian teams a run for their money.
The speculation of an all Canadian division had us thinking where exactly each team would fall. Among the Leafs and Habs, where do Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Winnipeg place with all due respect to Ottawa. We give a little prediction.

  • #42 - Green Bananas with Steven Ellis
Did anyone else happen to notice how many times the term “Green Bananas” was used on Tuesday during day one of the draft coverage? In any case, we’re ripe and ready to go.
Steven Ellis of The Hockey News joined the boys to break down the NHL draft and the biggest free agency signings and trades. Steven has a special connection with this draft class, so he was especially excited to review and analyze this one!
The free-agent market opened last Friday and it wasn’t long before a couple of big names were taken off the board. We analyze what teams are trying to do with their respective signings.
Taylor Hall wanted to go to a winner, so it’s obvious that he would choose a winning franchise in Buffalo...(sarcasm). Torey Krug said Boston never made him an offer. Now that’s a spicy meatball. Kyle Dubas and Pierre Dorion made their teams tougher, and the Pacific Division was nothing short of a game of musical chairs.
Needless to say, this was 90 minutes of pure hockey talk so it’s impossible to list every topic! Enjoy ya beauties.

  • #41 - Deja Vu
Deja Vu all over again as we prepare to hit the mics with no hockey! Jokes. There’s a lot to get into as we prepare for next season (whenever that is).
The NHL draft and free agency have arrived so we preview it and then will break it all down once the dust has settled next week with Steven Ellis of The Hockey News.
The goalie market has started off with a bang. Tristian Jarry signed in Pittsburgh. What now for Matt Murray? Robin Lehner officially put pen to paper in Vegas by signing a 5-year deal. Now is it safe to say Marc-Andre Fleury is done? Not so fast. Devan Dubnyk is linked to the Sharks but, at what cost?
Oliver Ekman-Larsson could be traded as Arizona looks to recoup draft picks for the next couple of years. Vancouver and Boston are his preferred choices, but what can the Canucks afford to give up, and does that mean Torrey Krug is on his way out of Boston?
Other topics discussed: Bryan Elliot, Paul MacLean and the Maple Leafs, Olli Maatta, Tampa Bay celebrations, and potential cap circumventing Henrik Lundqvist, Vegas, and Calgary new uniforms, and more!

  • #40 - The End Is Near
The Tampa Bay Lightning are your 2020 Stanley Cup Champions. What started as a pipe dream became a reality. The NHL bubble was a success and once the draft is over next week, who knows when we will see hockey again.
As we get closer to the draft, trades are starting to happen. The week started with Patric Hornqvist getting sent to the Florida Panthers, Marc Staal to the Detroit Red Wings, and then some juicy Jack Eichel, Torey Krug, and Patrik Laine rumors.
The Ottawa Senators announced they won’t be bringing back Craig Anderson and then buyout Bobby Ryan, so what’s happening there?
The Montreal Canadiens re-sign Jeff Petry to a great contract. What do they do with Max Domi and Jonathan Drouin though?
The boys also discussed: the QMJHL, fighting, and the government. Corey Perry, Chris Stewart, Darcy Tucker, and Shayne Corson, and a ‘Caster League’ update.

  • #39 - The 'Pietro' Sweepstakes
We’re running out of games! Can you believe the Stanley Cup will be handed out at some point during the next seven days? Crazy. And then, the off-season begins - that’s sure to be chaos.
The Arizona Coyotes put an end to their GM search and hired Bill Armstrong. Can he get to Taylor Hall before he reaches free agency?
“WE HAVE A TRADE TO ANNOUNCE” What in the heck is Bill Guerin doing in Minnesota? First, Brodin gets a boatload of cash - then he proceeds to trade Eric Staal for Marcus Johansson. Eric is off to Buffalo! How’s that for ya, Melody? And what gives Bill any confidence in Johansson?
Did we mention Bill Guerin in Minnesota? Mikko Koivu, a longtime captain of the Wild, will be no more. Koivu is headed to free agency. Where does he land? What can he bring to the table? But more importantly, how does this affect the Leafs? (Kidding)
Speaking of the Leafs, Alex Pietrangelo is coming home! Not quite. The Blues sure messed this one up. Petro and his Stanley Cup ring are gonna test the market. Darren Dreger just about broke the internet and Leafs Twitter simultaneously. We break it down.
Other topics discussed this week are: Bob Boughner no longer the interim for San Jose, Makar wins the Calder, Draisaitl wins the Ted Lindsay, Hellebuyck wins the Vezina, Josi wins the Norris, Jared McCann, The World Juniors, Senators’ 2D logo returns, Fantasy Football Caster League update.

  • #38 - The Winners Circle
The Dallas Stars became the first of two teams to book their ticket into the Stanley Cup Final. The Stars went through some rough stretches the last couple of seasons with players being called out and a coaching change, but here they are. Will the Lightning join them for Game 1 Thursday, or will the Islanders keep it going?
Now that Vegas is knocked out, what do we make of the goaltending situation? Lehner didn’t look great in the WCF, but there’s apparently a five-year deal waiting for him. What’s the move for the Golden Knights? Does The Flower say au revoir?
Award season continued this week as well! Lou Lamoriello of the Islanders snagged the Jim Gregory GM of the Year award, Sean Couturier of the Flyers won the Selke, Nathan MacKinnon of the Avalanche won the Lady Byng, the Jack Adams went to Bruce Cassidy of the Bruins, and Mark Giordano, captain of the Flames, took home the Mark Messier NHL Leadership Award.
Speaking of the Flames, the interim tag has been removed and Geoff Ward is announced as the new bench boss (officially) in Calgary. While that happened, Peter Laviolette was also hired in Washington, and boy did he get himself a payday.
Also on the show this week:
Nick Bjugstad is traded from PIT to MIN, Steve Simmons and Kyle Dubas, Listener of the Month Joe, Slumpbuster fantasy football league update and Gio takes home the Camo Jacket in his annual boys' golf tournament!

  • #37 - The Final Four
We’re finally down to the final four teams who will be fighting for Lord Stanley. The Dallas Stars, Vegas Golden Knights, Tampa Bay Lightning, and New York Islanders will have their shot in Edmonton.
Game One between the Stars and Golden Knights was…boring. A very defensive and poor offensive game saw the Stars take a quick 1-0 series lead. Is Khudobin a Conn Smythe candidate? Game Two happened last night and the boys made their prediction.
Game One with the Isles and Lightning was the complete opposite. Tampa Bay slapped New York 8-2. They’re looking stronger and stronger every game, but will we see another game like this?
Jake Allen was dealt from St. Louis to Montreal last week. What does this move mean for the Canadiens? Are they done making moves or do they still have some heavy lifting to do?
Taylor Hall and the Arizona Coyotes keep popping up together. Does Hall resign in the desert? What will his cap hit be? And is Pierre McGuire an actual serious candidate for their GM job?
Even though the Flyers were knocked out against the Islanders in Round Two, Oskar Lindblom stepped back onto the ice. Such an incredible story!
The boys also go over; Assistant coaches hired, Bill Zito as Panthers GM, King Clancy award, Bill Masterton award, Listener of the Month, and FaceOffs fantasy football team in the Slumpbuster league!

  • #36 - Tweety Birds
We seem to be saying this a lot but boy oh boy, once again, we have another dramatic week in hockey!
The NHL seems to keep taking it on the chin. After being criticized for not postponing games right away following the Jacob Blake incident, the NHL postponed the playoffs for two days...and still got lambasted. The Hockey Diversity Alliance has some demands for the NHL. What are they and are they feasible? Let’s discuss it!
And with that drama, comes more drama from Twitter. Logan Couture allegedly being sucker-punched because of someone overhearing a discussion. Add to all that, the NHL came down with the hammer when it comes to the Arizona Coyotes and their 'tampering' scandal. A second-round pick in this year's draft AND a first-round pick in next year's draft. Yikes.
And you know it can't be an episode of FaceOff without bringing it back to the Leafs - Freddy Andersen's name has been circulating when it comes to trade rumors. What could this mean...other than the Leafs want to move on from Freddy? Who can they get to replace him?
We also got second-round updates as well. Tampa Bay moves on after beating the Boston Bruins 4-1 and the hockey world celebrated in joy! Colorado came back in Game 5, do they have it in them to win the series? The Golden Knights and the New York Islanders have been dominant so far in their respective series.
FaceUp is back as well and it’s a quick one!
    Let's go!
